Banks Man Taken by Air Ambulance After Off-Road Vehicle Crash

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office - 05/13/18

May 13, 2018 – A Banks man was transported by air ambulance to a local trauma center after he crashed his off-road vehicle and it came to rest on top of him. He suffered life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at 6 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a single-vehicle injury crash on a property in the 18800 block of Northwest Azure Drive, just north of the city of Banks.
Deputies learned that a 40-year-old man had been operating an off-road vehicle on private property when it rolled over. The man was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt and was partially ejected. The vehicle then came to rest on top of him. He suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a local trauma center.
With the warmer temperatures, deputies see more people using their off-road vehicles on both private and public lands. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reminds recreational vehicle enthusiasts to use all available safety equipment, particularly helmets and seatbelts.
We wish to thank the Oregon State Police, the North Plains Police Department, the Banks Fire District and Life Flight Network for their assistance at the scene.
