Oregon City Pursuit Eventually Ends in Arrest of Two Subjects

Oregon City Police Dept. - 05/04/18 

On 5/04/2018 at about 5:58 a.m. an Oregon City Police Officer observed a red Dodge Durango with switched license plates in the area of 14th and Main St. in Oregon City, Oregon.  The Officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle, Aaron Smith and Jennifer Holbert, to investigate the circumstances involving the switched license plates.  During the contact, Mr. Smith fled in the vehicle, with Ms. Holbert as his passenger.  Oregon City PD pursued the vehicle until Highway 212 where the pursuit was eventually terminated.  The vehicle was then located by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and another pursuit was initiated, which was also terminated.  The suspect vehicle then crashed into a car, which resulted in minor damage.  Mr. Smith and Ms. Holbert both fled on foot, but were located and taken into custody.  Mr. Smith was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on various warrants, along with a new charge of Attempt to Elude.  Ms. Holbert also had a warrant for her arrest and was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail (BOOKING PHOTOGRAPHS ATTACHED).
