Police Seek Help Locating Shooting Suspect

Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who they believe fired a gun at his neighbor after a dispute. On May 4 at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to the report of a fight near the 100 block of SE Hogan Rd. While still en route to the scene, dispatch provided an update that shots had been fired. Police arrived on scene and didn’t initially locate the victim. They later learned that 52-year-old James Bitz had gotten into a physical altercation with his neighbor. The adult male victim was driving away from the scene when Bitz shot at his vehicle. The victim was not hit and later called police.
