Report of Man Pointing a Rifle at People Leads to Suspect Arrest, Seizure of Pellet Rifle

On Saturday May 5, 2018, at 11:39 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 900 block of Southeast 11th Avenue on the report that a man on a balcony was pointing a rifle in different directions towards a street fair.
Officers arrived in the area and were able to see the man on the balcony holding a rifle (later determined to be a pellet rifle) and a guitar.
Officers were able to make contact with the man and determined that the gun was a pellet rifle and that he'd fired the pellet rifle, in violation of Portland City Code 14A.60.020 (Discharge of Firearms).
The suspect, 30-year-old Eben David Eubanks, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on three counts of Discharging a Firearm in the City.
