Shooting Investigation Underway in the Sexton Mountain Neighborhood

May 11, 2018 – A 56-year-old man was shot inside a home in the Sexton Mountain community. Deputies are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.
On May 11, 2018, at 1:51 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting at a residence in the 8600 block of Southwest Muledeer Drive in the Sexton Mountain community.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 56-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was able to provide a description of a female suspect prior to being transported to a local hospital by with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
Three separate K-9 units, two from the Sheriff’s Office and one from Sherwood Police, searched the area extensively but the suspect was not located. Members of the inter-agency Tactical Negotiations Team assisted in the search. Area schools were placed in lockout for a short period of time.
The suspect is described as an Asian female, approximately 20-years-old, with long dark hair. 
Members from the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit responded and are investigating. They are being assisted at the crime scene by Forensic Science Unit personnel.
