On Sunday morning Marine Patrol Deputies were dispatched to an abandoned boat in the Willamette River near the Sportcraft Landing in Oregon City. Deputies arrived to find a sinking 1988 Bayliner covered in a silver tarp. The rear transom of the boat was cut our below the water line and the engine was removed. The boat was filled with household trash and construction debris. Someone had attempted to grind off all of the identifying numbers on the boat.

They removed the boat from the water and are asking for any witnesses who might have seen someone launching this boat to call the tip line. Witnesses reported the boat may have been launched at the Sportcraft Landing boat launch Saturday afternoon.
