CHILD FOUND DECEASED AFTER BEING LEFT IN VEHICLE

Roseburg Police Dept. - 06/21/18 
On 06-21-18 at approximately 4:12 PM, Roseburg Police Officers were dispatched to Evergreen Urgent Care (2570 NW Edenbower Blvd, Roseburg, Oregon) to investigate a possible death.  Investigation revealed a child had been left unattended in a vehicle in a parking lot adjacent to Evergreen Urgent Care for several hours.  Ambulance personnel responded and transported the child to Mercy Medical Center where the child was pronounced deceased.  The Douglas County Major Crimes Team responded to investigate.  The mother of the child, Nicole Engler (38 year old Roseburg resident), was taken into custody and lodged at the Douglas County Jail, charged with Manslaughter in the Second Degree.  The investigation is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.

  2. I hope she can't forgive herself, she deservers to thin about this the rest of her life, the poor child didn't have a chance with an unthinking mother like that!

  3. Wow people!! Maybe you should know the facts before you open your mouths!! This happens much more then we hear and it's most often a horrible, horrible accident. On top of the horrendous grief, a person has to deal with the legal ramifications and horrid comments made by people such as yourselves. Remember, this is public and those involved and their families can see it. I'm just saying, know the facts before you speak please. Hopefully others will have more compassion for you if something so tragic were to happen in your own lives.

  4. This was no accident u don't accidentally leave a child in the car I'm sorry I got two kids never once did I leave them in the car!!! It's more of having common sense people!!���� I hope and pray she relives this for the rest of her life!!! She is no mother!!����

  5. Why was that child in the car to begin with is what I would like to know ? And being in there for that period of time is awful long time for a child to be left alone anyway to begin with !!!

  8. Please people know the facts and over the next few days more facts will be made public. This is a Horrific accident. If you knew this Woman and her Husband, both Professional Medical personnel, you would know this is a Horrible accident. As a mother of 5, I could never imagine a tragic loss of this magnitude. There are no words, there is just terrible guilt and loss that is unimaginable. Please pray for this woman that is on Round the clock Suicide watch right now. Pray for her, her lost little girl and for her husband as well. May God have Mercy��
