Albany Police - 06/01/18
On Friday, June 1, 2018, at about 2:52 a.m., Albany Police and Albany Fire Department personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash that occurred in the 1900 block of Cascade Heights Drive NW, Albany, Benton County.  Upon arrival, police located a red, 1993 Jeep Wrangler that had left the road and collided with waste and recycling receptacles, some brick columns, and a metal fence.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as 19-year-old Justin Neal-Gage Moller of Albany, and 17-year-old Colby Shane Waters Jackson of Albany.  Justin Moller was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis with multiple injuries.  Colby Waters Jackson died at the scene of the crash.

The initial investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling south on Cascade Heights Drive before it left the road.  Moller and Waters Jackson were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and both were ejected from the vehicle.  Investigators have yet to determine who was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash.  Vehicle speed and alcohol were contributing factors in this incident.

The intersection of Cascade Heights Drive NW and Horseshoe Lake Circle NW was closed for approximately four hours during the investigation, which is continuing.  No further information is available at this time.
