Hillsboro Woman Dies in Thursday Afternoon House Fire

Hillsboro Fire and Rescue - 06/07/18 

 Hillsboro- At 3:10 Thursday afternoon Hillsboro Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire on the 1900 block of Walker Road. Fire crews arrived to find a two story home with flames and heavy smoke on the south and east side of the structure.
Firefighters quickly connected to a nearby hydrant and had water on the fire within minutes of their arrival. While attacking the flames, firefighters discovered the deceased elderly, female resident.
Firefighters had the blaze under control within forty minutes of their arrival.
Thirty-two firefighters from the Hillsboro Fire Department and TVF&R responded to the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported.
Hillsboro Police and Fire Department investigators are processing the fire scene to determine the cause of the fire.
Hillsboro Fire reminds residents that working smoke alarms are the most important items that you can have in your home to protect you from a fire.Test smoke alarm monthly and replace alarms every 10 years.
