Suspect in Custody after Shooting Near Falls City

Update 06/10/18
Detectives from the Polk County Major Crimes Team are continuing to investigate this case. We can report that the suspect in custody is 61 year old Dennis Sarver of Salem (photo attached). He is lodged at the Polk County Jail on the following charges:
1. Murder
2. Criminally Negligent Homicide
3. Manslaughter 2nd degree
The deceased victim in this case 52 year old is Earl Jambura III, a resident of Falls City. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, 06/11/18.
Any further information that will be released, will be released by the Polk County District Attorney's Office.

On 06/9/18 at about 2 pm Deputies responded to a suspicious activity call where it was reported that someone had been shot and killed on Black Rock Rd, near Falls City. Deputies did find a deceased person. There is a suspect in custody. The Polk County Major Crimes Team was activated and is currently investigating.
The Polk County Major Crimes team is a multi agency team, which consists of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County District Attorney’s Office, Oregon State Police and the Independence, Monmouth and Dallas Police Departments. If anyone has any information about this crime please call the Polk County Sheriff's Office tip line at 503-623-1878.
At this point no further information is going to be released as it is an active investigation.
