Suspect in Custody- Tri-County Major Incident Team (Jefferson County) requesting assistance locating a suspect in Homicide

Gavin Smith-Brown was taken into custody this mornning, June 7, 2018, by Washington County Law Enforcement.  Smith-Brown was not taken into custody as a result of a tip, however the Tri-County Major Incident Team would like to the thank the public for all the tips received.
Suspect may be in a 2013 Subaru Outback, Oregon License - 650 HGT, also black with black rims.
On June 3, 2018,  Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police along with members from the Tri County Major Crime Team responded to Crooked River Ranch on the report of homicide - (Correction no previous news releases - see information below)
During the course of the investigation a suspect has been identified as Gavin Smith-Brown, age 29, of Crooked River Ranch.  Law Enforcement has been unable to locate Smith Brown and are requesting any information from the public.  He has known ties to the Portland area and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Smith-Brown was last known to be driving a 2010 Subaru Outback with Oregon License 372 HFH - charcoal black with black toned rims.

On  Sunday, June 3, 2018, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check in the 16000 block of SW Dove Road, Crooked River Ranch.  
During the course of the investigation, the home owner, 65 year old Gayla Smith was found deceased at the residence.  A suspect has been identified as Gavin Smith-Brown, age 29, of the same address on Crooked River Ranch.  Gavin is the son of Gayla and lived at the residence with his mother.  
The Tri County Major Incident Team was activated which consists of members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Crook County Sheriff's Office, Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Madras Police Department, Bend Police Department, Redmond Police Department, Warm Springs Police Department, Jefferson County District Attorney's office, Oregon State Police Forensics, and Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section.
