Coach Arrested For Luring A Minor

On June 26, 2018, Beaverton Police officers began investigating a relationship between Branden Michael Helms and a 16-year-old female.
The investigation revealed Mr. Helms was a track coach for Sunset High School where he met his victim. Mr. Helms and the victim had an inappropriate sexual relationship for approximately two months prior to the beginning of our investigation.
Evidence was provided to a Washington County Grand Jury who indicted Mr. Helms on 2 counts of Luring A Minor and 4 counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. On July 10th Beaverton Police detectives arrested Mr. Helms and he was transported to Washington County Jail.
