Cox Creek Structure Fire

Albany Fire Department responded to a 3rd Alarm Fire Monday, July 2, 2018, at 7:53 p.m. on Cox Creek Lane.   Linn County Dispatch received multiple reports of visible fire and smoke coming from the residence and the surrounding property.   The fire was on two different homes and properties.  All residents were safe and out of the fire.   A large hay barn, multiple out buildings, a hay field and large compost pile were affected.  Both homes were saved.  Over thirty personnel were on scene to assist Albany Fire.  Mutual Aid from Jefferson Fire District, Tangent Rural Fire District, and Lebanon Fire District were on scene for several hours assisting.   Neither property had a fire hydrant system.  Over 150,000 gallons of water were trucked to the scene.
Albany Fire remained on scene overnight on fire watch to monitor the barn and property.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Both residents have insurance.
