Fatal Vehicle vs Pedestrian Crash on Southbound Parkway at Powers Road

On July 3rd, 2018 at 10:55pm, officers with the Bend Police Department responded to the intersection of South Highway 97 and Powers Road for the report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Officers arrived on scene and attempted life saving efforts on an unconscious female, but the efforts were unsuccessful. Officers learned the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and attempting to cross Highway 97.

The Bend Police Department was assisted on scene by Oregon State Police, Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Bend Fire, ODOT and Bend Public Works. Highway 97 south was shut down for four hours while the investigation was conducted.
