Man loses his life in late Prineville area single vehicle crash

On Wednesday July 4th, 2018 at about 12:15 a.m., Troopers from the Bend Area Command and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 380 near milepost 23.  This is located just outside of the community of Post and south east of Prineville. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a black 1999 Subaru Impreza, operated by 28 year old Post resident, Joshua Perman, was westbound and for unknown reasons, left the roadway and rolled several times.  Both Perman and the male passenger, identified as 46 year old Post resident, Alfred Cody, were ejected from the vehicle.  Joshua Perman was pronounced deceased at the scene and Cody was transported via air ambulance to a Bend area hospital for serious injuries. 
Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors and additionally, Perman was believed to not be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.  OSP was assisted on scene by ODOT, Crook County District Attorney’s Office, Crook County Medical Examiner, emergency responders from the Prineville area of Crook County and the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.
