Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Investigating Fatal Crash in Fairview

Last night at approximately 11:30 p.m. Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police Department, Gresham Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to the report of a traffic crash involving a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Halsey and 7th St. in Fairview. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and the juvenile motorcycle passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a local hospital as well.
The deceased motorcycle rider has been identified as 26 year old Yuriy Farina of Portland.
Preliminary reports show the motorcycle was traveling west bound on Halsey when it collided with the car traveling east bound.
The East County Vehicular Crimes Team responded to conduct the crash investigation. The East County Vehicular Crimes Team consists of MCSO Deputies, Gresham Police Officers, and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. Halsey at 7th St. was closed for the investigation, but reopened before 6:00 AM.
