UPDATE: Victim Identified in July 20 Homicide Investigation

Detectives continue to investigate a homicide investigation that began on Friday afternoon in North Portland.
The deceased victim has been identified as 29-year-old Dallas Boyd, of Portland.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office determined Boyd died of homicidal violence.

On Friday, July 20, 2018, at 3:15 p.m., North Precinct officers were flagged down by a community member in the 5300 block of North Lombard Street. The person that contacted officers provided information about a possible murder that had recently occurred.
Additional officers were requested to respond to assist with the community member's tip. The Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail was also contacted and responded to lead the investigation. During a search of an area in North Portland and after learning additional information, officers located a deceased adult female.
A member of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office responded to assist with this investigation. Based on information learned at the time the adult deceased female was located, detectives believed the woman had been murdered. The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office plans to perform an autopsy on the deceased female today.
A member of the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office responded and also assisted with this homicide investigation.
Based on information learned at this time in the investigation, Homicide Detail detectives have taken a suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as 58-year-old Terry Hickman. Hickman was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Murder.
Investigators do not believe there is a danger to the community in relation to this homicide investigation.
