Deputy uses tourniquet to save man's life

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office - 08/03/18 

On 08-02-18, Marion County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a man that had been stabbed in the 300 block of Lancaster Drive NE. Deputy Mark Rettig arrived and located the victim, 21-year old Samuel Fry. Deputy Rettig could see Fry’s bleeding was severe and quickly applied a tourniquet while waiting for paramedics to arrive. Fry was transported to a local hospital and remains in stable condition.

The suspect identified as 37-year old David Moore was located a few blocks away by a Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and taken into custody. Moore was transported to the Marion County Jail and booked on the charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Assault II.
