Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Hillsboro Police Dept. - 08/13/18
On August 13th, 2018 at approximately 8:18 AM, the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a fatal traffic crash on Brookwood at the Highway 26 east on-ramp. This interchange is controlled by a traffic signal.
The crash involved a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2017 Honda CRV.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries.
Names will be released at a later time.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the motorcyclist was traveling north bound on Brookwood approaching the Highway 26 interchange. The driver of the Honda was traveling south bound on Brookwood and turned left on a flashing yellow in front of the northbound motorcycle.
The Washington County Inter-agency crash analysis reconstruction team are continuing the investigation.
