Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash (Silverton)

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office - 09/09/18 

UPDATE- Today at 12:31 p.m., deputies with the Marion County Sheriff's Office were called to the intersection of 81st Ave NE and Silverton Road NE after a motorcycle and SUV collided. Deputies believe an SUV was traveling north and attempting to cross Silverton Road when it collided with a motorcycle traveling west on Silverton Road NE.  

Sadly the motorcyclist was killed instantly, the driver of the SUV was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.  The road was closed for several hours while specialized investigators with the CRASH Team investigated.  Silverton Road NE has reopened and investigators are seeking any witnesses to the collision.  If you were a witness to the collision you are asked to call 503 588 5032.  The Sheriff's Office will not be releasing either drivers name until Monday.  There are no further details available at this time.
