Felon Arrested In Possession Of Firearm

Beaverton Police Dept. - 09/04/18 

On September 3, 2018 at 8:36 a.m. Beaverton Police Officers arrested 22-year-old Rafael Tovar-Juarez near SW Allen Blvd/SW Main Ave. 

An officer witnessed Mr. Tovar-Juarez commit a pedestrian violation in the intersection of SW Allen/SW Main.  The officer stopped Mr. Tovar-Juarez to inquire about the violation.  Mr. Tovar-Juarez lied about his identity but officers were able to positively identify him as Rafael Tovar-Juarez.  Officers found Mr. Tovar-Juarez had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Washington County Circuit Court for failing to appear on a Forgery in the First Degree charge. 

During a search of Mr. Tovar-Juarez’s person, officers found a loaded firearm concealed in Mr. Tovar-Juarez’s waistband.  Due to Mr. Tovar-Juarez’s criminal history he was not legally allowed to possess a firearm. 

Mr. Tovar-Juarez was taken to Washington County Jail and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Providing False Information to a Police Officer and the felony warrant.
