Passenger dies in two vehicle crash on Hwy 211 - Clackamas County

On Friday, March 1, 2019 at approximately 4:30 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Hwy 211 near milepost 16.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Subaru Legacy, operated by Maurice Deets (75) of Colton, was traveling northbound on Hwy 211 when for unknown reasons the Subaru crossed over the center line and into the southbound lane and struck a 1998 Dodge 2500, operated by Beverly Parker (48) of Woodburn.

The front passenger of the Subaru, identified as Matthew Deets (49) of Colton, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. 

Maurice Deets was airlifted to a trauma hospital in Portland for critical injuries.

Parker sustained minor injuries and declined transport to a hospital.

Hwy 211 was closed for approximately five and a half hours.

OSP was assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Molalla Police Department, Molalla Fire Department, AMR, Life Flight, and ODOT.
