UPDATE - FOUND SAFE: Public's Help Sought in Locating Missing 19-year-old Female

Sophia McCarty has been located and is no longer a missing person. The Portland Police Bureau would like to thank the community for providing helpful tips. 

The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate 19-year-old Sophia McCarty. Sophia was visiting from out of town and was last seen riding her bicycle in the area of Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard / Southeast Division Street on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. Sophia does not have a cell phone. Investigators believe Sophia borrowed a phone and left a voicemail for a family member at 6:46 p.m. stating that she was lost and requested to be picked up from Rite Aid located at 2240 Southeast Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard. Sophia was gone by the time family arrived. 

Sophia is described as a white female, 6'0" tall, 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a gray hoodie over a white T-shirt, red baggy pants and black Vans shoes. She was last seen riding a blue Schwinn bicycle with a large white seat and a basket. 

Investigators believe Sophia is lost in the Portland area. Anyone who sees Sophia is asked to call 9-1-1. Anyone with non-emergency information or tips on her whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Lori Fonken at 503-823-1081 or email missing@portlandoregon.gov
