SALEM MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ENCOURAGING CHILD SEX ABUSE

Salem, Ore. — Salem resident, Jason Clark, was arrested yesterday, February 9, 2021 by Salem Police detectives for ten counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the second degree.

Patrol officers initiated the investigation based on the report by concerned citizens. The report was forwarded to detectives from the Salem Police Computer Forensics Lab who determined Clark, age 45, was in possession of and viewing child pornography. A warrant service on Clark’s residence led to the seizure of computers, hardware and mobile phones totaling 26 devices. Detectives located tens of thousands of child pornography videos and images.
