RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE - 1191 NW HIGHLAND STREET - 4-21-21

At 5:39 p.m. on April 21, 2021, Roseburg Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 1191 NW Highland Street.  Douglas County Dispatch received a report of black smoke billowing from the back of a residence.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find both smoke and fire showing from the attic and rear portion of a residential structure located at 1191 NW Highland Street.   Firefighters determined all occupants were out of the home.  The fire was quickly extinguished and overhaul was completed.  The fire was contained to the porch and attic space. 

The residential structure sustained structural and water damage.  One adult was displaced due to the fire; however, no one was injured in the fire.  The American Red Cross was notified and is assisting the resident.  A fire investigator was on scene and the fire is currently under investigation.  Nine firefighters assisted with firefighting operations.  Other agencies assisting with the fire included Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Pacific Power, Avista Utilities, Roseburg Police Department, American Red Cross, and Douglas County Fire District #2.
