𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆

Medford Police

On August 10, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., two officers were clearing a call for service in the area of the Jackson County Library when they heard a female screaming for help. The officers searched the area and located a female in distress lying on the ground in the parking lot of the Budget Inn, located at 345 S. Central Ave. The female victim reported that an unknown male approached her in the parking lot and made sexual statements to her while she was at the ice machine. The victim ignored the advances and the male attacked her and tried to sexually assault her. The victim fought back and screamed for help, which caused the suspect to flee prior to the officer’s arrival.  

The suspect was not located after an extensive search of the area, but the officers were able to obtain video surveillance from the Budget Inn that captured a picture of the suspect. Detectives were contacted and the case is under investigation at this time.
