King City Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison in Child Sex Abuse Case

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On April 12, 2019, Victor Roberto Saravia pleaded guilty to four counts of First-Degree Sex Abuse and was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Washington County Judge Ted Sims. Deputy District Attorney Allison Brown prosecuted the case against Saravia. King City Police first began investigating Saravia in February of 2018 after a young boy made a disclosure of abuse to his family. A family member called police to report the abuse. The boy was taken to CARES Northwest where he told investigators about two instances of sexual abuse involving Saravia, who was known to his family. According to reports from the child, the abuse began in 2017 and continued into 2018. King City Police Lieutenant Brian Sigler began investigating once the abuse was reported. SAR RECOVERS BODY OF MISSING MT. ANGEL MAN

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office TOKETEE, Ore.  - The body of 30 year-old Jeffery A. Vance was located by Search and Rescue on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Searchers had returned to the Clear Water area on Sunday, where Vance went missing at the beginning of February, to continue efforts to locate him. Search efforts had previously been hindered by heavy snowfall. At approximately 11:50 am, Vance was located by a Douglas County Search and Rescue volunteer.  The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting a death investigation. There are no immediate indications of foul play. Next of kin has been notified. 

MISSING WINSTON WOMAN FOUND DECEASED

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office SUTHERLIN, Ore.  - On Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 1:10 pm, Douglas County Emergency Communications received a report from Weyerhaeuser that an employee located a van with a deceased female inside on their property out Nonpareil Road.  Deputies responded and were shown to the area where the van was located. Deputies identified the van and female inside to be that of Geraldine Donna Galer of Winston. Galer was 77 at the time she went missing in December of 2018.  The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting a death investigation. At this time, there are no indications of foul play.  Next of kin has been notified. 

Water Rescue - Stewart Park - 4-14-19

Roseburg Fire Department At 7:54 p.m. on April 14, 2019, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a reported water rescue in the river at Stewart Park.  Three witnesses reported seeing a female who was screaming while in the river.  The witnesses reported seeing the female in the water between the green bridge and the Stewart Park pavilion. They saw the female continue to float through the rapids and under the Stewart Park Bridge. Firefighters arrived on scene at Stewart Park and worked collaboratively with several emergency agencies to ensure a rapid search and rescue of the female patient.  A cataraft was launched and placed in the river at Stewart Park by Douglas County Fire District #2 Water Rescue personnel.  At 8:48 p.m. the female patient was rescued on the left side of the river near Harvard and Old Melrose Road by three Roseburg Fire Department firefighters.  Firefighters used rope bags to get the patient to shore. Officer Involved Shooting Update

Milwaukie Police Dept. The suspect taken into custody in last night’s officer involved shooting in Milwaukie, has been identified to be 30-year-old Douglas Joseph Teter. Douglas Teter was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail and is facing charges of Assault I and Attempted Aggravated Murder (No Bail). Douglas Teter also had six outstanding warrants for his arrest for; Criminal Mischief II (X2), Interfering with a Peace Officer (X2), DUII and Disorderly Conduct II. The officer involved was released from the hospital earlier this morning. He is now home with family, recovering from multiple gunshot wounds to his leg. The officer’s name is not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.   No further information is available at this time.

Officer Involved Shooting

Milwaukie Police Dept. On 4/13/2019 at approximately 11:20 pm, a Milwaukie Police Officer attempted to contact a subject near SE Monroe Street and SE 42nd Avenue in Milwaukie. The subject matched the description of a male involved in a previous call, where the threat of a gun was reported.  The contact led to a taser deployment near SE 42nd Avenue between SE Jackson Street and SE Harrison Street. The taser deployment was not effective. Moments later, the officer and male subject exchanged gunfire near SE Harrison Street and SE 42nd Avenue.  The officer was shot in the exchange and the suspect ran from the shooting north to SE Llewellyn Street and hid under a truck and camper. Officers located the subject which ultimately led to another taser deployment and custody.  The injured Milwaukie officer was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team has been notified and is taking lead on the investigation.  We are not relea

Police Seek Help Locating Missing Gresham Man

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 28-year-old man. Twedros Gemeda was last seen yesterday around 11:00 a.m. leaving his Gresham residence to drive to work in Salem. Gemeda has black hair, brown eyes, is approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and black Nike’s. Gemeda was driving a silver 2007 Nissan Sentra with Oregon license plate 985DDH. Anyone who knows of Gemeda’s whereabouts is asked to call Gresham Police.

Marion County Fire District#1 responds to fatal accident

Marion Co. Fire Dist. #1 On April 13th at 2:53 am witnesses reported a serious motor vehicle crash on Hazelgreen Road NE near 80th Avenue NE.  When deputies and personnel from Marion County Fire District #1 arrived on scene, they tragically discovered both occupants of the lone involved vehicle were deceased. Deputies have determined the involved vehicle, a delivery truck, was traveling west on Hazelgreen Road NE prior to the crash.  The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole.  Investigators have not yet determined if speed was a factor in the crash.  No other vehicles are believed to have been involved. Both occupants of the delivery truck died at the scene.  The Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing information about the deceased individuals until appropriate notifications have been made.  PGE responded to the scene to repair the damaged utility pole, all impacted roadways are now open.

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 4-13-2019, at approximately 0909 hrs, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to Sears Roebuck parking lot located at 1533 NE F St., for a report of a female employee who had been backed over by a vehicle.  Investigation revealed  a white male described as being in his mid 20's with curly hair wearing unknown color of jeans and a black jacket ran out of the store with a case of Craftsman tools valued at $109.99 without paying for them.  The male suspect jumped into the driver's side of his pick-up truck followed by the assistant manager who was running after him.  The suspect quickly backed up, hitting the manager, and driving over her legs with the front end of his truck.  The suspect sped out of the parking lot and was able to flee the area prior to police arrival.  Additionally, there was a white female adult with dirty blond hair seated in the passenger seat.  The pickup truck is described as possibly an early to mid-

Traffic Stop Nets Drugs, Four Arrests

Sheriff's Office CENTRAL POINT – A single traffic stop led to the arrests of four people early Thursday morning.  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies seized a dealer quantity of methamphetamine from one of the passengers in the multi-agency effort. On April 11, 2019, at 1:08 a.m., a JCSO deputy assigned to White City stopped a white Pontiac Grand Am for a traffic violation in the 6700-block of Crater Lake Highway.  Deputies requested assistance from a K9 team from the Central Point Police Department.  The K9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance. The investigation found the driver, James Gary Tacia, 47, was driving with a suspended license and was in possession of a user amount of methamphetamine.  He was lodged in jail. Passenger Daniel Lee Hutchinson, Jr., 37, was arrested for a parole violation from a prior conviction for unlawful use of a weapon.  He was also found to be in possession of a user amount of heroin.  Hutchinson was l
