Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On April 12, 2019, Victor Roberto Saravia pleaded guilty to four counts of First-Degree Sex Abuse and was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Washington County Judge Ted Sims. Deputy District Attorney Allison Brown prosecuted the case against Saravia. King City Police first began investigating Saravia in February of 2018 after a young boy made a disclosure of abuse to his family. A family member called police to report the abuse. The boy was taken to CARES Northwest where he told investigators about two instances of sexual abuse involving Saravia, who was known to his family. According to reports from the child, the abuse began in 2017 and continued into 2018. King City Police Lieutenant Brian Sigler began investigating once the abuse was reported. In conjunction with our partners at CARES Northwest and the Oregon Department of Human Services, Lt. Sigler found the allegations to be credible and Saravia was arreste

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office TOKETEE, Ore.  - The body of 30 year-old Jeffery A. Vance was located by Search and Rescue on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Searchers had returned to the Clear Water area on Sunday, where Vance went missing at the beginning of February, to continue efforts to locate him. Search efforts had previously been hindered by heavy snowfall. At approximately 11:50 am, Vance was located by a Douglas County Search and Rescue volunteer.  The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting a death investigation. There are no immediate indications of foul play. Next of kin has been notified. 

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office SUTHERLIN, Ore.  - On Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 1:10 pm, Douglas County Emergency Communications received a report from Weyerhaeuser that an employee located a van with a deceased female inside on their property out Nonpareil Road.  Deputies responded and were shown to the area where the van was located. Deputies identified the van and female inside to be that of Geraldine Donna Galer of Winston. Galer was 77 at the time she went missing in December of 2018.  The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting a death investigation. At this time, there are no indications of foul play.  Next of kin has been notified. 

Roseburg Fire Department At 7:54 p.m. on April 14, 2019, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a reported water rescue in the river at Stewart Park.  Three witnesses reported seeing a female who was screaming while in the river.  The witnesses reported seeing the female in the water between the green bridge and the Stewart Park pavilion. They saw the female continue to float through the rapids and under the Stewart Park Bridge. Firefighters arrived on scene at Stewart Park and worked collaboratively with several emergency agencies to ensure a rapid search and rescue of the female patient.  A cataraft was launched and placed in the river at Stewart Park by Douglas County Fire District #2 Water Rescue personnel.  At 8:48 p.m. the female patient was rescued on the left side of the river near Harvard and Old Melrose Road by three Roseburg Fire Department firefighters.  Firefighters used rope bags to get the patient to shore. Milwaukie Police Dept. The suspect taken into custody in last night’s officer involved shooting in Milwaukie, has been identified to be 30-year-old Douglas Joseph Teter. Douglas Teter was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail and is facing charges of Assault I and Attempted Aggravated Murder (No Bail). Douglas Teter also had six outstanding warrants for his arrest for; Criminal Mischief II (X2), Interfering with a Peace Officer (X2), DUII and Disorderly Conduct II. The officer involved was released from the hospital earlier this morning. He is now home with family, recovering from multiple gunshot wounds to his leg. The officer’s name is not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.   No further information is available at this time.

Milwaukie Police Dept. On 4/13/2019 at approximately 11:20 pm, a Milwaukie Police Officer attempted to contact a subject near SE Monroe Street and SE 42nd Avenue in Milwaukie. The subject matched the description of a male involved in a previous call, where the threat of a gun was reported.  The contact led to a taser deployment near SE 42nd Avenue between SE Jackson Street and SE Harrison Street. The taser deployment was not effective. Moments later, the officer and male subject exchanged gunfire near SE Harrison Street and SE 42nd Avenue.  The officer was shot in the exchange and the suspect ran from the shooting north to SE Llewellyn Street and hid under a truck and camper. Officers located the subject which ultimately led to another taser deployment and custody.  The injured Milwaukie officer was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team has been notified and is taking lead on the investigation.  We are not relea

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 28-year-old man. Twedros Gemeda was last seen yesterday around 11:00 a.m. leaving his Gresham residence to drive to work in Salem. Gemeda has black hair, brown eyes, is approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and black Nike’s. Gemeda was driving a silver 2007 Nissan Sentra with Oregon license plate 985DDH. Anyone who knows of Gemeda’s whereabouts is asked to call Gresham Police.

Marion Co. Fire Dist. #1 On April 13th at 2:53 am witnesses reported a serious motor vehicle crash on Hazelgreen Road NE near 80th Avenue NE.  When deputies and personnel from Marion County Fire District #1 arrived on scene, they tragically discovered both occupants of the lone involved vehicle were deceased. Deputies have determined the involved vehicle, a delivery truck, was traveling west on Hazelgreen Road NE prior to the crash.  The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole.  Investigators have not yet determined if speed was a factor in the crash.  No other vehicles are believed to have been involved. Both occupants of the delivery truck died at the scene.  The Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing information about the deceased individuals until appropriate notifications have been made.  PGE responded to the scene to repair the damaged utility pole, all impacted roadways are now open.

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 4-13-2019, at approximately 0909 hrs, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to Sears Roebuck parking lot located at 1533 NE F St., for a report of a female employee who had been backed over by a vehicle.  Investigation revealed  a white male described as being in his mid 20's with curly hair wearing unknown color of jeans and a black jacket ran out of the store with a case of Craftsman tools valued at $109.99 without paying for them.  The male suspect jumped into the driver's side of his pick-up truck followed by the assistant manager who was running after him.  The suspect quickly backed up, hitting the manager, and driving over her legs with the front end of his truck.  The suspect sped out of the parking lot and was able to flee the area prior to police arrival.  Additionally, there was a white female adult with dirty blond hair seated in the passenger seat.  The pickup truck is described as possibly an early to mid-

Sheriff's Office CENTRAL POINT – A single traffic stop led to the arrests of four people early Thursday morning.  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies seized a dealer quantity of methamphetamine from one of the passengers in the multi-agency effort. On April 11, 2019, at 1:08 a.m., a JCSO deputy assigned to White City stopped a white Pontiac Grand Am for a traffic violation in the 6700-block of Crater Lake Highway.  Deputies requested assistance from a K9 team from the Central Point Police Department.  The K9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance. The investigation found the driver, James Gary Tacia, 47, was driving with a suspended license and was in possession of a user amount of methamphetamine.  He was lodged in jail. Passenger Daniel Lee Hutchinson, Jr., 37, was arrested for a parole violation from a prior conviction for unlawful use of a weapon.  He was also found to be in possession of a user amount of heroin.  Hutchinson was l

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Wednesday, April 10th, 2019 at approximately 6:00 PM, RADE detectives orchestrated a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving a known drug residence in the NE section of Grants Pass. Officer Gasperson and his partner K9 Match, stopped the vehicle and after a "positive" alert from Match, the occupants and vehicle were searched. Seized was over a 1/2 ounce of heroin, cocaine, Xanax prescription medication, digital scales, packaging material and over $4000 dollars in cash. The below male, 30 year old Anthony C. Morrison, was subsequently taken into custody and lodged for PCS/DCS Heroin. More charges are expected to be filed by the Josephine County DA's Office.

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon   PORTLAND, Ore.—John Joseph Wallace, Jr., 35, of Madras, Oregon, was sentenced today to 72 months in prison and life term of supervised release for the repeated sexual abuse of a minor. According to court documents, the government’s investigation of Wallace began in January 2018, when Warm Springs Tribal Police officers responded to Wallace’s home on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Officers were responding to a report that Wallace had abused a young girl. The minor victim and her mother, who contacted police to report Wallace’s crimes, are both Warm Springs tribal members. An investigation later revealed that Wallace, over a period of years, had repeatedly abused the child by touching her breasts, buttocks, and genitals, both over and under her clothing. Wallace used his cell phone to communicate with the child and facilitate multiple incidents of abuse at his home on the reservation and on a separate occasion in Madras.

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On April 10, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information from the Forest Grove Police Department that two wanted men were headed towards Aloha in a van with firearms and drugs. At approximately 2:15 a.m., deputies spotted the gold Chrysler van without license plates near SW Farmington Rd & SW 209th Ave in unincorporated Washington County.  Deputies stopped the van and once they began to approach the vehicle on foot, the driver drove off and headed south towards the Beaverton and Tigard area. The deputy followed and attempted to stop the van using a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver, but the driver tried to ram the deputy and was able to get away. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was spotted at an apartment complex on SW Scholls Ferry Road. K9 officers from both the Beaverton Police Department and Tigard Police Department assisted deputies with searching for the suspects. As the canine

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team On Tuesday, April 9th, 2019, DINT arrested 29 year old Rickey Whitehurst of Winston on numerous charges. Whitehurst had been wanted for over a year, having outstanding warrants for his arrest for Failure to Appear on the crimes of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Attempting to Elude an Officer, Reckless Driving, and Interfering with a Police Officer.  In addition to being a wanted individual, DINT had credible information Whitehurst had been distributing large amounts of drugs from his Winston area home and began an investigation that lasted more than two months.  The investigation culminated Tuesday evening when DINT arrested Whitehurst in his vehicle in the 200 block of NW Civil Bend Avenue in Winston at approximately 7:00 PM.  Another occupant of the vehicle, 20 year old Tessa Smithey of Sutherlin was also arrested.  Both were found to be in possession of small amounts of heroin. Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On 04/09/19 at approximately 1942 hours, a Deputy with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a dark green 2001 Chevrolet Corvette for running a stop sign at a high rate of speed at the intersection of Veterans Way and 10th near the Redmond Airport.  The Deputy initiated a short vehicle pursuit, but was unable to keep up with the Corvette.  The vehicle was last seen on Lake Road heading towards Highway 126 at a high rate of speed. A short time later, a Redmond Police Officer spotted the unoccupied Corvette parked in a parking lot on Veteran’s Way near the airport.  A perimeter was established, and a Redmond Police K-9 team began a track heading in a Northwest direction.  A short time later a K-9 team from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office joined the search in the area of 10th and Highway 126. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office YONCALLA, Ore.  - A traffic stop Monday evening resulted in the arrest of two people in a stolen vehicle. A deputy made a traffic stop at 5:25 pm on a 2018 Ford Van owned by U-Haul for speeding. The deputy learned during the course of the traffic stop that the vehicle was stolen. The driver, 32 year-old Nicholas Charles Slead of Tacoma, Washington, was taken into custody. The passenger, 30 year-old Elisa Nicole Gill of Gresham, was also taken into custody on an arrest warrant. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine and heroin. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 2, 2019 an adult male committed a burglary at a residence in Clackamas on SE 108th Ave. The suspect entered the residence through a large doggie door, then stole several items from the home, including electronics and jewelry. However -- and fortunately for investigators -- the victim had a surveillance camera pointed in the suspect's direction. Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office WHITE CITY – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies say a man died in a single-vehicle crash in the Sams Valley area over the weekend.  No one else was injured.  On Sunday, April 8, 2019, at 6:41 a.m., dispatch received a report of a crash in the 12000-block of Antioch Road, approximately one mile southeast of Highway 234.  A passerby happened upon the crash and called 911.  The driver’s family members also arrived at the crash scene prior to deputies’ arrival; they had been searching the area after realizing he had not returned home by Sunday morning. Deputies say the 1999 Ford F-350 pickup was headed northbound on Antioch Road when it left the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.  The driver, Bobby Dean Hardin, 81, of White City, died at the scene.  He was the only occupant of the vehicle.  The crash also caused damage to a fence on private property. Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On April 8, 2019, at approximately 5:43am, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary at the Wickiup Station Sports Pub in La Pine, located at 52600 Hwy 97, La Pine, OR 97739. Deputies and detectives were at the scene throughout the morning investigating and collecting evidence.  Investigators have been able to recover video surveillance that shows at least two suspects arriving and subsequently forcing entry into the business just after 4:00am this morning.  The suspects removed a safe from the business and then fled from the scene.  One suspect was wearing all black and the second suspect was wearing all black with white stripes on the sleeves of the jack.  Both suspects had backpacks and hid their faces using masks and caps. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office MYRTLE CREEK, Ore.  - Detectives are investigating a shooting which took place Sunday night in the 14000-block of Old Highway 99 South.  At 8:01 PM, dispatchers received a report of a male who had been shot by a female. The male, sustained a life-threatening injury and was transferred to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. He was later transferred to an undisclosed hospital for further care.  The Douglas County Major Crimes Team was activated and the investigation is continuing. There is no ongoing risk to the public.  No further details will be released at this time.

Sheriff's Office GLIDE, Ore. - On Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 4:10 pm, Douglas County 9-1-1 received a report that a 9 year-old child observed a man in the North Umpqua River clinging to a log and yelling for help near Colliding Rivers viewpoint. The man was described as wearing a bright orange shirt.  The Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol Division responded along with resources from Search and Rescue, Douglas County Fire District #2 and Glide Fire Department. A search of the area was unsuccessful in locating the reported victim. Due to hazardous water flows, search efforts from boat had to be suspended for safety concerns. At this time, the Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public. Anyone who observed the incident who has not yet spoken to deputies is asked to call 541-440-4471. There have been no missing person reports from the area.

Lebanon Fire District The Lebanon Fire District respond to the report of a water rescue near Gill’s landing on the South Santiam River. Upon arrival one person was located standing in ankle deep water. He was unable to get to dry land due to the rising water levels. Lebanon Fire crews made access to him using a rescue raft and he was assisted to dry land. He notified the rescue crews that there was another person who needed help and was unable to get out of the flooded area. The Linn County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene with a specialty rescue sled. LCSO and a rescue swimmer from LFD performed a search with the rescue sled and located the other person, and his dog. Using the rescue sled, they were able to rescue both the second person and the dog.  The area had several tents that were searched and no other people were located. Sheriff's Office On April 6th, 2019 at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office received a report that Katrina Gagatko, of Bend was missing.  A co-worker and roommate of Gagatko's from Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living Facility said Gagatko was last seen leaving her work in Bend at 10:00 p.m. on 4/04/19.  Gagatko told her friend she going to meet with another friend in the Sisters area.  Gagatko later failed to show up for a scheduled work day and has turned her cell phone off.  Gagatko may be staying temporarily in the Sisters area at an unknown location.  Gagatko is described as being a white female, 43  years of age, 5' 3" tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and having blond hair and blue eyes. Gagatko was last seen wearing a black zip up jacket, a blue polo shirt, black scrub style pants and blue Nike shoes,  Gagatko was last seen driving her 1988 GMC Sonoma pick-up that is black in color with red pin striping. 

Portland Police Bureau On Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 3:02 A.M., two North Precinct officers were in the area of Northeast 79th Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard on a call of a suspicious person possibly casing cars. An officer witnessed a 1999 Toyota Camry driving with no headlights accelerating towards the other officer's car from behind. The Camry struck the police vehicle, causing significant damage. The officer was not seriously hurt. The driver and passenger in the Camry suffered minor injuries. The driver was transported by ambulance to the hospital.  Officers conducted a crash investigation and determined the driver of the Camry was impaired. Forty-year-old Jeremy J. Heisler (photo is from a previous arrest in 2017) was cited and released for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII), Reckless Driving, and misdemeanor Driving While Suspended or Revoked.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Thursday, April 5th, 2019 at approximately 2:00 PM, a 911 call was received from a motorist that had just been involved in a crash on the Grants Pass Parkway, near NE F St.  The involved driver advised his car had been hit from behind by a purple Chevrolet Lumina, which had fled the scene of the crash. The suspect vehicle was last seen on the Grants Pass Parkway, headed towards SE M St.  Police witnessed the suspect vehicle go through the intersection of SE M and the Grants Pass Parkway, against a red light.  When police attempted to stop the vehicle it failed to yield, driving recklessly through the area of Parkdale and Fruitdale Dr.  Grants Pass Police, along with Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff's Office began searching the Fruitdale area, ultimately locating the suspect vehicle in the area of Mt. Baldy Rd. The suspect was able to elude officers, continuing outbound on Rogue River Hwy. Officers were able to identify the suspect as 

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On April 6th, 2018 at approximately 1230AM, a citizen alerted a patrolling Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputy about a nearby crash on the 800 block of Locksley Dr, in the City of Bend. The Deputy located the crash and determined a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Angela Lorraine Harley, age 40, of Alfalfa, Oregon, crashed into a parked 2007 BMW X3. The initial investigation determined that Harley was driving east on NE Locksley Dr while eating a burrito. Harley lost control of the Subaru, left the roadway and began driving on the sidewalk, before returning to the road and crashing to the parked BMW. There were no pedestrians in the area and the parked BMW was unoccupied during the crash. Harley was uninjured. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Harley was arrested for DUII-Alcohol and lodged into the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Jail. It is believed her impairment was compounded by Distracted Driving. Eating while driving

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On Wednesday, April 3rd, at around 5:00 PM, detectives with the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement Team (RADE) stopped Gabriel Manuel Rivera and Monique Quiroz after it was discovered they were bringing heroin to Grants Pass, OR via Sacramento, CA. It was determined the heroin was going to be distributed throughout Grants Pass and Josephine County. Seized during the stop was over a 1/2 pound of heroin, $1800 dollars in cash and drug notes. Street value of the heroin seized is estimated to be around $13,000 dollars. This investigation is ongoing. RADE was assisted by GPDPS, OSP and Homeland Security Investigators. Both Rivera and Quiroz were lodged at the Josephine County Jail for DCS/PCS heroin.

Roseburg Police Dept.   On March 9th, 2019 law enforcement personnel from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon State Police were involved in a shooting on Grant Smith Road in Douglas County.  During that incident the suspect died, but due to a fire in the vehicle, the decedent was not able to be positively identified.  On March 20th, 2019 a Douglas County Grand Jury was convened and heard facts from the case.  That Grand Jury determined the Use of Force by law enforcement personnel was justified.  On March 21st, 2019, the District Attorney held a press conference and disclosed to the media the evidence supporting the Grand Jury's decision. This update is to inform you of the identity of the decedent, which was confirmed through DNA comparison.  The suspect has been positively identified by the State Medical Examiner's Office as 25 year old Kristopher Angel Haynes.  Next of kin have been notified.  Haynes was believed to be transient at the time of the i

During the training, they were flagged down by a passerby and alerted of a medical emergency on the Clackamas River Trail. The Clackamas River Trail runs along the south shore of the Clackamas River for about 8 miles between Fish Creek and Indian Henry trailheads. Initial reports were that a woman had fallen and broken her ankle on the trail a short distance up the trail from the Fish Creek Trailhead. Sweet Home Fire District responded to a water rescue today at 10:28 AM.  Water rescue crews were able to assist two female victims, both had been flipped their kayaks on the South Santiam River near Sun Lane.  Rescue crews were able to operator a rescue jet boat to access one of the victims who was clinging to a small downed tree in the middle of the river.  The second victim was able to get back into her kayak and was directed to a riverbank near a home on walkerwood lane where crews were able to access her. Both advised that there were cold but did not need medical attention. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue   Just after 1am this morning, multiple callers to 9-1-1 reported that a three-story apartment complex under construction in the 11000 block of SW Collina Lane in Wilsonville was engulfed in flames. A bright orange glow and column of smoke could be seen from several miles away.  The fire occurred in the Villebois community where condominiums, apartments and row homes are densely packed together. Within minutes, several neighbors living adjacent the growing blaze reported that the fire was spreading to their homes. By 1:15 a.m., fire commanders called a third alarm to bring enough firefighters to the scene to evacuate residents, extinguish fires in occupied buildings, control the original fire and protect exposed buildings. Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office On March 30, 2019 at 7:26am deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Pleasant Home Saloon, located at 31637 SE Dodge Park Blvd in southeast Multnomah County.  When deputies arrived at the location, they found two employees inside the saloon. The employees reported that two men, wearing masks and armed with handguns, had forced their way into the rear of the saloon.  Once inside, the suspects sprayed one employee with pepper spray, and ordered the other employee onto the floor at gunpoint.  The suspects left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The two employees, while shaken, did not need medical treatment.  The saloon was not yet open for business at the time of the robbery. Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 3:45 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a crash in the 19100 block of SW Pacific Highway near the city of Sherwood. They learned that the driver of a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer exited the parking lot of a business and turned south onto SW Pacific Highway. The driver then quickly moved from the right lane into the left lane, into the path of a 2005 Ford F350 truck that was also traveling south. The impact between the vehicles sent the truck into the median, where it rolled several times. The driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital. He did not suffer injuries that are considered to be life-threatening. A passenger in the truck died as a result of the crash. She is being identified as Lorraine Wheeler, 47, of Tigard. The driver of the Mitsubishi was arrested and is being identified as Roger J. Bayard, 18, of Tigard. Mr. Bayard is accused of the following c
