Lane Co. Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance locating 27 year old missing man Michael Bryson of Eugene.  Michael was last seen on August 5th at a roadside campground located off Brice Creek Road just west of Champion Creek Road in South Lane County.  At around 4:30 a.m. on 8/5/20, Michael reportedly wandered away from a group of friends at the campground in an unknown direction and has not been seen since. Family reported Michael missing when he didn't return home after leaving the campground.   Lane County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue deployed search teams in the area on August 5th and 6th, and are continuing the search today, but so far have not located any clues as to which direction Michael may have gone.  Michael left his camping gear at the campground and his phone has been powered off for several days. Lincoln City Police On Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020, the Street Crimes Response Team (SCRT) along with Lincoln City Police and Newport Police executed a search warrant at a residence located approximately 476 feet from the Oceanlake Elementary School property. Christopher Kalin, (48) Teri Cipres (47), Amber McColligan (33), and Amber Williams (37) all of Lincoln City, were arrested after lengthy investigations into the distribution of illegal narcotics in the Lincoln County area. During the warrant execution, the SCRT seized quantities of suspected methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia such as digital scales and plastic baggies, drug transaction records, and a weapon. Elder Abuse Arrest

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety In May 2018, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety received a report of a possible elder abuse. After the victim had passed away, family members discovered that Sydney Marie Wilder, an acquaintance of the victim, had unlawfully obtained funds from the victim’s bank account. Due to the complexity of the case, for the next 2.5 years the case was worked. At the conclusion, it was determined Wilder had financially exploited the victim’s age, vulnerabilities and poor health. During the victim’s last few years of life, Wilder is suspected to have stolen over $120,000 from the victim. Once the investigation was completed, the case was sent to the Josephine County District Attorney's Office for review and filing of charges. One August 5th, 2020, the case was presented to the Grand Jury. Sydney Wilder was indicted on the above charges and on August 6th, Wilder was arrested and lodged at the Josephine County Jail. SEARCH FOR MISSING ROSEBURG MAN

Sheriff's Office DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.  - Deputies are looking for information as to the whereabouts of a missing 22-year-old Roseburg man.  Austin Allen Wilkison was last seen on Friday, July 31, 2020, at approximately 7:30 pm at a residence on Little Valley Road. Wilkison had reportedly planned to meet friends and return home. He has not been heard or seen since and family is concerned about his welfare.  Wilkison is known to frequent the Glide/Idleyld Park area and may possibly be in the mountains, particularly the Swift Water, Wright Creek and Steamboat Falls areas. He is described as 5'6'', 145 lbs, brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last known to be wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. Human Remains Located off China Hat Road; South of Bend

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On August 3, 2020, at approximately 9:30 am, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) were dispatched to a report of human remains that had been located on U.S. Forest Service land off China Hat Road, south of Bend.  An individual walking a dog in the area made the discovery and reported the information to Deschutes County 911. Deputies and DCSO detectives arrived at the location and confirmed the remains belong to an adult male. Detectives have worked since then, assisted by the U.S Forest Service and Deschutes County Medical Examiner, to document, collect evidence, and recover the remains. An autopsy is planned in the coming days to determine identity and cause of death. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AFTER LONDON RD. SHOOTING

Sheriff's Office On 8/3/20 at 1:40 a.m., the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at a residence on the 72900 block of London Road south of Cottage Grove. The residence is in a remote part of Lane County near the Douglas County border. Lane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and located three people who sustained gunshot wounds. One of the victims was transported to the hospital by helicopter and two victims were transported by ambulance. Deputies investigated and have arrested 44 year old Boudie Lancaster of Cottage Grove on two counts of Assault in the first degree, one count of Assault in the second degree, and one count of Felon in Possession of a Weapon in connection with the shooting. BURGLAR CAPTURED, LARGE QUANTITY OF PROPERTY RETURNED

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - On Saturday, August 1, 2020, at approximately 7:00 am, deputies were dispatched to a reported burglary at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Speedway Complex.  Deputys learned approximately $10,000 - $15,000 worth items were stolen from the Pacific Racing Association (PRA). Surveillance footage was obtained and deputies processed the crime scene.  Through the course of the investigation, deputies developed a suspect, 25-year-old Christian Dean Busschau of Washougal, Washington. Deputies made application for a search warrant and served that on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at a residence in the 100-block of Pioneer Way.  During the execution of the warrant Busschau was arrested. Oregon State Police On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at approximately 10:37 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers were dispatched to a reckless driver and hit and run crash located on Hwy 101 milepost 233 just north of North Bend, OR. The reporting person advised they were stopped at the traffic signal at East Bay Dr. and Hwy 101 when they were struck  from behind. The suspect vehicle, a green older Dodge 1500 pickup with a green canopy bearing CA license plate, then accelerated attempting to push the vehicle into the intersection. None of the occupants were injured and the Dodge continued northbound on Hwy 101 driving recklessly. OSP was notified by the Coos Bay Police Department they were investigating the same Dodge pickup for striking several vehicles while traveling north on Hwy 101 through the city of Coos Bay.  OSP received a report the Dodge was observed at the trailhead to Siltcoos Lake, near the city of Florence, where the vehicle had intentionally struck several more

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 7/31/2020 shortly after 1:00 p.m., the Lane County Sheriff's Office received a report of a deceased female in the Willamette River just downstream from Clearwater Park. A community member recreating on the river spotted the female in the water and called the police.  Deputies, Search and Rescue personnel, and local fire personnel responded to the area. The deceased is believed to be 22 year old Abigael Bellows from Eugene who was last seen on July 22, 2020 swimming near Clearwater Park when she went underwater and never resurfaced.  Search and Rescue teams, including divers, have been searching for Abigael ever since.   The Lane County Sheriff's Office and the Lane County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the death.  Our thoughts are with Abigael's family and friends as they grieve.

FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On July 31st, 2020 at 1003hrs, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motorcycle crash near the 1600 block of Robertson Bridge Road.  The rider was flown by Mercy Flights to Rogue Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The rider has been identified as 57 year old Patrick Kelly Riley.  The next of kin has been notified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

OREGON STATE POLICE ASSISTING WITH A SHOOTING INVESTIGATION- JOSEPHINE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On July 31, 2020, Grants Department of Public Safety responded to Three Rivers Medical Center for a female that had been shot. The victim was identified as Julie Names (43) from Josephine County.  Hospital staff made every effort to revive the victim but were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased. The Oregon State Police Major Crime Team was called and responded to the hospital.  The man, who drove the victim to the hospital, was detained and interviewed as a potential suspect.  The suspect, Travis Albins (41) of Josephine County, was arrested today and charged with Unlawful use of a Weapon and Manslaughter I.

Oregon State Police UPDATE- Thanks to the public's assistance, the deceased female has been positively identified as Annette Fagan (58) of Portland, Oregon. SUTHERLIN MAN ARRESTED FOR SETTING FIRES, INTERFERING WITH FIREFIGHTER

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office GLIDE, Ore.  - A Sutherlin man was arrested for starting six fires in the forest Tuesday night. Around midnight, deputies were notified that Douglas Forest Protective Association had been dispatched to a reported fire northeast of Glide near McComas Creek. When firefighters arrived in the area they located an individual who was armed with a machete. The male subject wanted the firefighters to give him a ride into Glide and told them if they didn't he would set additional fires. Deputies arrived and located the male, later identified as 39 year-old Jedediah Ezekiel Fulton of Sutherlin. Fulton was still armed with a machete.  He was eventually taken into custody and admitted to setting multiple fires in the area. He told deputies he had been in the forest for approximately 3 hours and was attempting to get help.  Fulton was transported to the Douglas County Jail where he was lodged on the following crimes, although additional charge

OSP Drug Detection K-9 Jaxson alerts on over 8 pounds of Methamphetamine.

Oregon State Police On Thursday, July 23, 2020 at approximately 9:04 P.M., a Trooper from the Central Point Area Command stopped a 2020 GMC Terrain SUV for failure to signal a lane change (multiple occasions) on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 19.  During the traffic stop, the Trooper conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle after a positive alert to the odor of controlled substances by an OSP drug detection K-9. The probable cause search revealed approximately 8 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the vehicle.  Troopers also located an additional 16 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.    The driver was identified as Erica L. Rust (29) from Salem, Oregon and passenger identified as Patricia Cardenas (54) from Keizer, Oregon.  Ms. Rust and Ms. Cardenas were lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine. Fatal crash on State Route 34 milepost 14 -Lincoln County

Oregon State Police  On Sunday, July 26, 2020 at approximately 7:07 P.M. Oregon State Police responded to the report of a motorcycle crash, which occurred on State Route 34 near mile post 14 in Lincoln County. Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2012 Ducati motorcycle, operated by Kenneth Robert KEARNEY (51) of Waldport, was westbound negotiating a sweeping left turn when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle went off the westbound shoulder.  The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled rest in the roadside brush.  Kearney was ejected off the motorcycle during the crash.  Kearney sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. One lane of SR 34 was closed for approximately three hours.  OSP was assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Central Coast Fire Department, Seal Rock Fire Department, PacWest Ambulance and ODOT Incident Response.

Man Arrested after Passenger Dies in Crash

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 2:04 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on SW River Rd, South of SW Farmington Rd. A single-vehicle had left the road and struck a tree. Deputies arrived and found that a single vehicle had been traveling South on SW River Rd. at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, 23-year-old Edelmir Mata- Garcia, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to OHSU. The passenger, 24-year-old Carlos Gonzalez-Tapia was pronounced dead at the scene . Deputies suspect that Mr. Mata-Garcia had consumed alcohol and was driving at a high rate of speed. They believe he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree, killing his passenger. Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance locating missing man Gordon Sage.  Gordon was last seen this morning at approximately 4:00 a.m.  When family went to check on him at 8:00 a.m. he was missing, along with the family's 2011 white Chevrolet Impala (Oregon plate 645 FFM).  Gordon hasn't driven in over a year and may be suffering from some dementia.  Gordon is also overdue for his daily medication.   Gordon is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds with white hair and hazel eyes. Gordon has ties in the Portland and Bend area, but it is unknown at this time which direction he may have gone.   The Lane County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has seen Gordon or his white Chevrolet Impala to call 541-682-4150 then press 1 and reference case # 20-4912.

Remains of Oregon National Guardsman returned home to Oregon

Oregon Military Department PORTLAND, Ore .  - Members of the Oregon National Guard paid honors to a fellow service member, Private First Class Alexander B. Klass as his remains were returned home to Oregon with an honor flight and funeral procession from the Portland International Airport (PDX) to McMinnville. He was deployed with the 162nd Infantry Regiment at Camp Novo Selo, Kosovo, during the time of his death on July 4, 2020. Pfc. Man Carrying Several Stolen Surf Boards Along Hwy 101 Arrested

Lincoln City Police On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at about 11:25 PM, Lincoln City Police Officers responded to a reported suspicious person call in the southwest 3800 block of Hwy 101. It was reported that a man was walking along Hwy 101 while carrying several surf boards. Officers located the man and identified him as 29-year-old Christian M. Berry of California and Hawaii, carrying several surf boards. When asked, Berry said he found the surf boards.  During the subsequent investigation, officers saw that the surfboards still had price stickers on them and that he was wearing two hats on his head. In addition Berry had a wetsuit tied around his waist that still had tags on it. Berry was also found to be in possession of an acoustic guitar, wax, board fins, and other items, many price tag marked and surf related. Multi-Agency Search Effort Leads to Recovery of Missing Swimmer

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office On July 22nd, 2020, at shortly after 7:00 pm a caller reported a swimmer in distress in the Willamette Slough, near Riverfront Park in Salem.  The Salem Police Department and Salem Fire Department responded to the scene and began an initial search for the missing swimmer.  Marion County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue was requested to respond to help coordinate search efforts.  After original attempts to locate the swimmer were unsuccessful, the search was suspended for the night just after 10:00 pm. Search efforts resumed this morning, July 23rd, at approximately 6:00 am.  The victim was finally located by divers from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office a few minutes after 2:30 pm.  The victim has been identified as, Troy Bowdish, 18, of Dallas. Sheriff's Office Case #20-14059 Update on Deputy Involved Shooting The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has not yet publicly identified the suspect who was shot by deputies on Tuesday night. Because the suspect has not been charged at this time and the investigation is still active, the release of his name will be delayed. The Sheriff’s Office has released some further details about the incident. JCSO deputies responded to the parking lot of the White City Dairy Queen regarding a request from a detective assigned to M.A.D.G.E., Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement, unit to check on a suspect who was reportedly in possession of a large quantity of drugs and possibly armed. Two deputies contacted the suspect and began speaking with him. After a few minutes, a struggle ensued between the deputies and suspect. FATAL CRASH ON HWY 234 - JACKSON COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at approximately 10:44 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 234 near mile post 12. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda motorcycle, operated by Mark Nienhouse (42) of Medford, was traveling west on Hwy 234 when it struck an elk in the roadway. Nienhouse and his passenger, Jennifer Ayala (30) of Central Point, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased. INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN GLENDALE STABBING

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office GLENDALE, Ore . - On Monday, July 20, 2020, at 6:10 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a stabbing in the 200-block of Montgomery Ave in Glendale.  When deputies arrived, they learned a 15 year-old was upset with a 16 year-old female juvenile and had threatened to stab her with a knife. 18 year-old Joseph Gage Fish of Glendale attempted to intervene and ended up fighting with the 15 year-old male. During the fight, Fish was stabbed in the side of the neck. The 16 year-old sustained a minor cut to her elbow during the fight.  The suspect is known to law enforcement and his whereabouts are currently unknown, although Detectives believe he is possibly enroute to California. The suspect is not believed to be a threat to the public.  The case is currently being investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Detective's Division. Case#20-3272

Detectives Unable to Substantiate Crime in Whistlers Bend Park Report

Sheriff's Office   UPDATE 07/21/2020 ROSEBURG, Ore.  - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is unable to substantiate that a crime occurred in the reported noose incident found at Whistler's Bend Park in late June. On June 22, 2020, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office became aware of a post on social media where an individual reported finding a noose outside of his yurt during a weekend trip to Whistlers Bend Park. The Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation. The patrol and detective's division put an extensive amount of time and effort into the case. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office enlisted the assistance of the FBI. At this time, the investigative portion of the case has concluded, based upon all leads available to investigators. Winston Man Drowns in North Umpqua River

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office   ROSEBURG, Ore.  - A Winston man drowned in the North Umpqua River Monday night. Shortly after 8:00 pm, on Monday, July 21, 2020, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a male who was in the North Umpqua River who was not breathing. The callers directed responders to the 900-block of Echo Drive off of North Bank Road. When deputies arrived, they found the male on an island where CPR was being performed by bystanders. The deputies were able to get to the male by boat and bring him to shore to a waiting ambulance. The male was identified as 36 year-old David Duane Ham of Winston. Ham was transported to Mercy Medical Center where he later died. Deputies learned Ham was swimming when he began to yell for help and went under water. The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Douglas County Fire District #2, Bay Cities Ambulance and Glide Fire Department.

Public Indecency Arrest

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety Between July 17 and 18, 2020, the Grants Pass Dept of Public Safety (GPDPS) received reports of suspicious behavior at two local businesses.  The first call was at Robinson Dental, 124 NE Evelyn. A male subject showed a 20 year old female employee explicit photos and video while making inappropriate comments. The male subject later sat alone in his vehicle in the parking lot and masturbated. The second call was at Holiday Inn Express, 105 NE Agness, regarding a male subject who exposed his genitals to a 20 year old female employee in the lobby of the hotel.  Further investigation determined the suspect, Jason Evans, was also suspected of similar incidents in Jackson County. As a result of the above cases, Evans was arrested and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on the listed charges. Anyone with information about these or other related incidents is asked to contact GPDPS at 541-450-6260. Detectives Investigate Stabbing Incident in Green

Sheriff's Office   ROSEBURG, Ore.  - Detectives are investigating a stabbing incident which took place in the Green District Monday evening.  On Monday, July 20, 2020, at 9:21 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a stabbing which had taken place in the 400-block of Harmony Drive.  When deputies arrived, they located three individuals with injuries. Deputies learned a disturbance had taken place over money. During the disturbance, 50 year-old James Leland Nance of Idleyld Park was struck over the head with a shovel. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for an evaluation.  34 year-old Jack Salberg and 34 year-old Brandon Lee Welter, both of Roseburg, sought medical attention on their own after sustaining cuts.  Deputies also arrested 34 year-old Ryan Mark Weber and 26 year-old Autumn Storm Smith on unrelated warrants.  Detectives are still investigating the incident. Air and ground resources battle 35-acre wildfire in Douglas County

Oregon Dept. of Forestry CANYONVILLE, Ore. - The Days Creek Fire, located approximately 14 miles northeast of Canyonville in Douglas County, was reported Monday morning, July 20, shortly after 11 a.m.  The first engine to arrive on scene reported the fire to be approximately three acres in size, burning in logging slash.  An aggressive initial attack by aviation and ground resources is currently keeping the fire in check at 35 acres. Four Type 2 helicopters and one Type 1 helicopter have been working on the fire, in addition to two large air tankers and two single-engine air tankers. Numerous ground resources, including engines, hand crews, and equipment are also on scene of the fire, working to construct fire trails around the blaze.  In addition to Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) resources, equipment and personnel from industrial landowners, industrial operators and the Umpqua National Forest are assisting with suppression efforts. K9 OZZY LOCATED CANYONVILLE ASSAULT SUSPECT

Sheriff's Office CANYONVILLE, Ore.  - K9 Ozzy located an assault suspect hiding in a shed on Sunday evening.  Shortly before 4:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a reported assault which took place at the Masonic Cemetery in Canyonville (700 N Main Street). Deputies contacted the victim who stated she had been struck in the head from behind by 33 year-old Canyonville resident Robert Matthew Frieler. The victim also stated Frieler had a knife in his hand at the time of the assault, and believed she could have been stabbed. The victim was bleeding and had a visible injury to her head. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for a non-life threatening injury.  Deputies responded to a residence in the 400-block of Carlisle Court in Canyonville where Frieler was reported to have been. K9 Ozzy conducted an area search for the suspect and found Frieler hiding in a shed on the property. Frieler gave up when he was made aware the K9 was on scene and h
