SUSPECTED DRUNK DRIVER MISSES GRANTS PASS IN-N-OUT DRIVE-THRU LANE

Grants Pass Police Department Grants Pass, Ore. – Yesterday morning at approximately 1:44 AM Grants Pass Police Officers were summoned to the corner of NE 7 th  St. at NE Morgan Ln. regarding a vehicle that had crashed into the In-N-Out Burger sign. Following a thorough investigation, Raul Ortiz, who had been the driver of the vehicle, was arrested and lodged for suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants. Considerable damage was sustained by the iconic burger sign, but luckily there were no serious injuries.

DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR MISSING PERSON IN NE SALEM

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office ***UPDATE*** Around 9:40 p.m. this evening, Mr. Hall returned, on his own, to his group home.   At just after 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, April 15, 2022, deputies were called by workers at a group home after a client did not return from a short walk. Jerome Wayne Hall (43) was last seen leaving the group a few minutes after 12:00 p.m. near Ward Drive NE and Lancaster Drive NE in the unincorporated area of northeast Salem. Hall is approximately 5’9”, 170 lbs, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue and gray hoodie, white shoes, and typically wears a baseball cap. Workers are concerned for Hall’s safety due to a pre-existing medical condition. Anyone who has seen Hall is asked to call our non-emergency dispatch at 503-588-5032.

ROBIN STREET STRUCTURE FIRE

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2 At 12:13 a.m. Friday morning Douglas County Fire District No.2 and Glide Fire District were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Robin Street in the Dixonville area. Multiple callers reported a large fire in the area, with some reports of someone possibly still being inside the structure. The first arriving fire engine crew arrived on scene to find the house fully involved with fire and initiated fire attack, crews made entry and found one confirmed fatality.   Fire crews spent extensive time overhauling and knockdown hot spots. No other structures were damaged or threatened.  The Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s office are assisting with the fire investigation. Douglas Fire District No.2 responded with 3 fire engines, 2 water tenders, and 1 command vehicle. County. Fire District No.2 was assisted by Glide fire, PP&L, DCSO, and OSFM. 

RONNIE DON NIELSON FOUND GUILTY IN CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On April 14, 2022, a Washington County jury found Ronnie Don Nielson, age 33, guilty of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse. Deputy District Attorney Chris Lewman prosecuted the case before Judge Ricardo Menchaca.  Mr. Nielson is a previously convicted sex offender who is barred from having any contact with minors. In January of 2021, the defendant was alone inside a home with a girl under the age of 10. He sexually assaulted her. The victim reported the abuse to a family member who did not immediately alert law enforcement.  In March of 2021, deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in Beaverton, Oregon on a report of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found several family members shouting at each other. As deputies worked to defuse the situation, the victim reported that the defendant sexually abused her. DEPUTIES ASK FOR ASSISTANCE LOCATING MISSING AND ENDANGERED MAN

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, around 1:20 p.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a missing person named Paul Sabatini. Sabatini is 58-year-old and was last seen on April 12, at 10:00 a.m., near SW 188 Avenue and SW Kinnaman Road. Mr. Sabatini is 5'9", 300 lbs., and has a very distinct walk. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, and blue sneakers. Sabatini needs critical medication, and deputies believe Sabatini is on foot.  Please contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111 or your local law enforcement agency if you know where Sabatini is or have any information.

GYPSY JOKER OUTLAW MOTORCYCLE CLUB MEMBERS SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR KIDNAPPING, TORTURING, AND MURDERING FORMER CLUB MEMBER

  U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—Two members of the Gypsy Joker Outlaw Motorcycle Club (GJOMC) were sentenced to life in federal prison today for kidnapping, torturing, and murdering a former club member. GJOMC Portland clubhouse president Mark Leroy Dencklau, 61, of Woodburn, Oregon and Portland clubhouse member Chad Leroy Erickson, 51, of Rainier, Oregon, received the life sentences after being  convicted at trial  in December 2021 of murder in aid of racketeering; kidnapping in aid of racketeering, resulting in death; kidnapping resulting in death; and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, resulting in death. Additionally, Dencklau was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy. “Mark Dencklau and Chad Erickson will rightfully serve the rest of their lives in federal prison. MARIJUANA SEARCH WARRANT

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On April 13, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) conducted a search warrant in the 1900 block of Southside Road regarding an illegal marijuana growing operation. During the execution of the warrant approximately 2200 marijuana plants being grown in greenhouses were seized and destroyed.  Additionally, approximately 1000 pounds of processed marijuana was seized and destroyed.   One worker was detained during the execution of the warrant for officer safety. The primary suspect is still outstanding.  At the time of this press release, the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released.

JUNCTION CITY MAN CHARGED WITH SECOND DEGREE MURDER

Junction City Police At about 5:19 PM on Sunday, April 10th, 2022, Junction City Police Dispatch received a call of a deceased subject at 303 Laurel St in Junction City, Oregon.  Based upon their observations, the caller believed the death was caused by violent means.  The caller stated they were uncertain whether the assailant(s) was/were still present in the house.  Officers arrived on scene about four minutes later, at 5:23 PM, and after clearing the house to make sure no threats were present, found 56-year-old Gerald Marino Rodriguez Jr. deceased. The Junction City Police Department immediately began investigating the incident.  The Oregon State Police Forensics Services Division assisted with the processing of the crime scene; the University of Oregon Police Department provided support securing the perimeter of the home.  Subsequent investigation revealed 24-year-old Boone Franklin Morris had caused the death of Rodriguez.  Morris is the biological son of Rodriguez’s girlfriend.

CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL

Forest Grove Fire & Rescue At 2:50pm, Cornelius Fire was dispatched to a reported unconscious patient at the Valley View Mobile Home Park on SW Tualatin Valley Highway. Medical crews arrived and found the patient partially conscious in a RV trailer. The patient was removed from the trailer and evaluated in an ambulance. Based on reports from bystanders, medical crews evaluated the patients carbon monoxide level in their bloodstream. The carbon monoxide level in the blood of 15 warrants being transported to the hospital, the patient in today's incident had a level of 55. The patient needed specialty care at a Portland hospital, but due to weather damage closing Highway 26 into Portland, a Life Flight Network helicopter was used to transport the patient. Neighbors noticed the propane powered generator turned on in the middle of the night when power went out for the trailer park, this power outage is likely due to the snow. FATAL CRASH HIGHWAY 126- LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On April 10, 2022, at about 11:44 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a citizen report of a head-on collision on Highway 126 near milepost 35. A dark blue Honda Civic, driven by Colton Kenneth Rice, 18, of Monroe, Oregon,  was westbound on Highway 126 when it left its lane of travel for unknown reasons and struck an eastbound silver Toyota Tundra, driven by Clint Robison, 33, of Yacolt, Washington.   Multiple witnesses stated that the Honda was passing at a high rate of speed in a no-pass zone around a blind corner. The front end of the Toyota Tundra impacted the Honda Civic passenger side in a T-bone fashion. The driver of the Honda Civic died as a result of the crash.  The four occupants of the Toyota Tundra were all transported to the hospital by ambulance for minor injuries and were later released.    The Highway was shut down for over four hours while the Oregon State Police conducted the investigation. FATAL CRASH HIGHWAY 18- YAMHILL COUNTY

Oregon State Police On April 10, 2022, at about 11:30 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 18 near milepost 49. Preliminary investigation revealed that a gray sedan with four occupants was traveling west on Highway 18 when for unknown reasons it left its lane of travel and collided head-on with a motorhome driven by Herman Hulshof, 67, of Canada.  Both vehicles became engulfed in flames from the collision. The four occupants of the gray sedan suffered fatal injuries from the collision and were pronounced deceased at the scene.  At this time, the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.   The driver and passenger of the motorhome were uninjured. Highway 18 was shut down for over five hours while the Oregon State Police conducted the investigation.  OSP was assisted by the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office, McMinnville Police, McMinnville Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

SEARCH IN PROGRESS FOR MISSING SNOWBOARDER (UPDATE FINAL)

Hood River Co. Sheriff's Office MOUNT HOOD, ORE. – Late Friday afternoon, members of the Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Patrol located evidence that a body was buried in avalanche debris in Clark Creek, located in the Heather Canyon area, much of which is rated black or double black diamond.  Due to declining daylight and the technical aspect of a recovery, an operation was scheduled for early Saturday. Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, personnel from the Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Patrol and Hood River County Sheriff’s Office were able to extricate the body from the creek.  The operation, which required a rope team, took about two hours. Personnel were able to identify the body as Ryan Mather, 30 years old, of Aloha, who was reported missing on the evening of April 5. Mather’s family was notified of the recovery late Saturday morning.  “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan’s family,” said Hood River County Sheriff Matt English. “This has been an incredibly difficult and heart-wrenching five days for

Oregon State Police On April 8, 2022, at approximately 8:50 A.M., OSP was notified of a shooting on Interstate 5 southbound near MP 258 (Portland Rd NE) in Salem. Preliminary information indicates a confrontation between two motorists resulted in a shooting. The names of the involved subjects will not be released at this time due to the ongoing criminal investigation.  OSP Detectives are seeking public assistance.  Anyone who observed either pictured vehicle, a silver 2013 Nissan Juke four-door crossover SUV and/or a dark blue 2012 Chevrolet Caprice four-door sedan, driving on I-5 southbound between Wilsonville and Salem, is asked to call OSP’s Dispatch Center at  800-442-0776 or *OSP (*677) from your mobile Reference Case number SP22-083777.
