FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On August 25th at approximately 3:51PM, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a single vehicle crash in the 34000blk of Shoreview Dr. southeast of Cottage Grove.  While enroute, deputies were advised that a red jeep had crashed into a pole and that a female occupant was not conscious.  Medics arrived and determined that the driver, 40 year old Simona Fredrickson of Cottage Grove, was deceased.  Deputies arrived and determined that Fredrickson had been traveling on Shoreview Dr. near the intersection of Spillway Rd. when she drove off of the roadway for an unknown reason.  She struck a utility pole and tree after leaving the roadway.  Investigators believe that speed may have been a factor.

Veneta Woman Shot By Ex boyfriend

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office At approximately 2:25pm the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from a female claiming to have been shot at a residence in the 24000blk of Forest Ct. in Veneta.  The female stated that her ex-boyfriend shot her and she believed he was still inside the house. Upon arrival deputies worked quickly to render emergency aid to the injured female.  They located her on the front porch of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds.  Deputies evacuated her from the porch and into the hands of paramedics.  She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Her condition remains unknown at this time. Deputies are on scene and are working to make contact with a male who is believed to still be in the residence.  Please avoid the area until this situation is resolved.

UPDATE: HIKER'S BODY RECOVERED FROM ANGEL'S REST TRAIL

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office Update: At 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, the hiker’s body was returned to the trailhead parking lot. The Medical Examiner’s Office is on-scene.   The recovery effort took a total of 22 hours. This morning, once the Crag Rats and additional MCSOSAR members reached the deceased, a high-angle rescue litter was used to hoist the deceased back to the top of the trail. FATAL CRASH BETWEEN VEHICLE AND MOTORCYCLE RESULTS IN DRIVER'S ARREST

Lincoln City Police Department On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at about 9:38 PM, Lincoln City Police Officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle vs motorcycle crash in the 500 block of south Hwy 101. When officers arrived on scene, they found both of the northbound lanes of travel were blocked because of the crash. The driver of the motorcycle, a 2003 Harley Davidson, was identified as 29-year-old Aden Charles Perkins of Lincoln City. The motorcyclist was found lying in the roadway with severe injuries. Citizens, officers and medical personnel from North Lincoln Fire & Rescue and Pacific West Ambulance attempted to provide medical aid; however, Mr. Perkins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle, a white 1991 Suzuki Sidekick, was identified as 27-year-old James Lee Mitchell of Otis, Oregon. He was checked and treated at the scene, but did not appear to have sustained any serious injuries as a result of the crash.  H

SUSPECT RUNNING SCAM PEPPER SPRAYS VICTIM IN FACE

Tualatin Police Dept. On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at approximately 3:30pm, Tualatin Police responded to the Red Robin, located at 7425 SW Nyberg St, in Tualatin, on a report of a male suspect who had spit at an employee and sprayed pepper spray in her face. When officers arrived they learned that the suspect was attempting to scam the business by claiming that they had made his to-go order incorrectly. He was demanding a gift card. The suspect spat at the victim and sprayed her in the face with pepper spray, then left the restaurant. Through their investigation, officers learned that the suspect had stolen the pepper spray from a local business, then conducted similar scams at two other businesses in the area on that same day.  Officers attempted but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is described as an adult, black male, in his 40s, wearing a blue sport jacket and slacks. Search Warrant Served on Illegal Marijuana Operation West of Junction City

Lane County Sheriff's Office LCSO Case #22-4294   The Lane County Sheriff’s Office recently received a tip regarding a very large-scale illegal marijuana growing operation west of Junction City.  Lane County Sheriff’s Deputies applied for, and were granted a warrant to search the involved property located in the 26000blk of High Pass Rd.   Given the substantial size of the operation, officials from several area law enforcement agencies assisted with the execution of the search warrant.  Authorities executed the warrant just after 7:00am yesterday morning and located approximately 32 separate green houses being used to cultivate marijuana plants at various stages of maturity. In total 8,716 illegal marijuana plants were seized and destroyed.   Several migrant workers, believed to be victims of human trafficking, were located on site and found to be living in deplorable and unsanitary conditions in the adjacent forest. MARIJUANA SEARCH WARRANTS

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On August 23 and 24, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) executed four separate search warrants in Josephine County regarding illegal marijuana grow sites.    The search warrants were executed with the assistance of Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE), Josephine County Code Enforcement and Bureau of Land Management (BLM).      300 block of Lakeshore Drive      6000 block of Rockydale Road      8000 block of Deer Creek Road      1000 block of Lone Mountain Road During the execution of the warrants, approximately 10,000 growing marijuana plants and approximately 3500 pounds of processed marijuana was seized and destroyed.  The properties also had multiple electrical, water and solid waste code violations. These violations could result in the civil forfeiture of the property.  During the execution of the warrants the primary suspects were not located, however, the crimes listed are the crimes those individuals will be facing based on the

Rainbow' Fentanyl Recovered in Tigard

Tigard Police A newer form of powdered fentanyl that is often referred to as ‘rainbow’ fentanyl was recently recovered by the Tigard Police Department. This form of the drug, which resemble sidewalk chalk, has been in the news recently, both in the Portland metro area and across the country, as it continues to emerge in a growing number of communities. In Tigard’s recent case, officers were called to a suspicious person around 11 PM on August 10 th  where a witness in the 7600 block of SW Hunziker Road reported a man on top of a car, who was screaming and acting erratically.  Responding officers learned the man had several warrants out for his arrest and took him into custody. While searching him, officers recovered 5.5 grams of ‘rainbow’ fentanyl. Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office PROSPECT, Ore. - An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a thief who broke into an Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) lookout tower in the Prospect area last week. The suspect, Chad Allen McPherson, 30, of Prospect, was indicted today by a Grand Jury and charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, first-degree criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and felon in possession of a restricted weapon. McPherson is lodged in the Jackson County Jail and due to a parole violation for felon in possession of a firearm is not eligible for pre-trial release.    McPherson and another suspect were captured on surveillance footage breaking into the tower around 12:45 on Sunday, August 14. The additional suspect shown in the surveillance footage has not been identified. Benton County Sheriff's Office "On August 3, 2022 Deputy Lovik responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Philomath Blvd. and SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. Deputy Lovik was first to the scene and located a single occupant, who was unconscious and not breathing. Deputy Lovik immediately retrieved an AED and used the device along with chest compressions to restore the male's heart rhythm. Deputy Lovik acted alone and without the assistance of on duty medics for the first several minutes. The male was later transported to the hospital where he remained in stable condition. Deputy Lovik's actions and willingness to respond without a doubt saved this man's life and allowed him to live another day. Eugene Police Department     On the evening of August 21, 2022, three individuals stole a Black Dodge Ram from a dealership on Highway 99 in Eugene.  The truck was recovered today in Klamath Falls and the suspects were identified as Daniel Nielsen, Richard Houda, and Diane Hannah.  The suspects have not been located and Eugene Police Department is asking for the public's help with locating them.     If you see any one of these suspects, please call your local law enforcement.  If you know where the subjects may be located or you have information about this case, feel free to leave a message with Officer David Clark  541.359.9835. ODF Southwest Oregon District  Wildland firefighter Logan Taylor, who died battling the Rum Creek Fire, will be honored early next week in a public memorial service. The service will be held Monday, August 29 at 10 a.m. at Harry and David Field, 2929 S. Pacific Highway in Medford, donated by the Medford Rogues baseball team. Members of the public who wish to honor Logan Taylor are invited to attend.  Taylor, 25, of Talent, Oregon, was the owner and operator of Sasquatch Reforestation, a local forestry company. On Thursday, August 18, 2022, Taylor was struck by a tree while working on the Rum Creek Fire outside of Grants Pass, Oregon. Coos FPA Firefighters from CFPA and DFPA are responding to a report of a fire southeast of Loon Lake in the Lake Creek drainage this afternoon. The fire is burning in an active logging operation in a steep and remote access area. Currently the fire is about 1 acre in size. Fire crews are being assisted by several helicopters as well as landowner resources. Medford Police On July 4, 2022, Medford Police, Medford Fire and Mercy Ambulance responded to the 4000 block of Vista Pointe Drive for a 15-year-old male who overdosed on fentanyl. Upon arrival, the victim was treated by paramedics on scene, but he did not survive.   The investigation into the incident revealed the victim was given a counterfeit oxycodone pill, which later tested positive for fentanyl. The pill was given to the victim by a juvenile family member.  A detective with the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement (M.A.D.G.E.) unit was assigned to continue the investigation. The immediate drug dealer responsible for selling the counterfeit Oxycodone pill was identified as 26-year-old Tyren Wohosky of Medford. A search warrant was served at Wohosky’s residence and a firearm and approximately 50 fentanyl pills were seized. OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING INVESTIGATION -- MCMINNVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Oregon State Police On August 23 , 2022 , at approximately 2:07 PM, officers from McMinnville Police Department responded to an apartment building on SW Barbara Street in McMinnville to investigate a report of a suicidal male at that location. When officers arrived, the male exited the apartment building and confronted officers. Preliminary investigation has indicated that at least one round was fired by officers, striking the subject. Medical aid was rendered but the subject was declared deceased at the scene.  The decedent has been identified as Laurence Dickson (69). His immediate next of kin have been notified.  Pursuant to Yamhill County Senate Bill 111 protocols, the Yamhill County District Attorney’s Office requested Oregon State Police to investigate this incident. Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022, Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 4,000 block of Dole Road, Myrtle Creek.  This was another of the large scale illegal operations like we've been repeatedly seeing in the area, often times owned and operated by foreign drug cartels.  This particular location was raided twice by DINT in 2013, also for illegal marijuana operations.   Yesterday, DINT detectives arrived at the location and found several large greenhouses completely surrounding the residence, full of live marijuana plants, as well as the hillsides around the residence terraced with hundreds of growing marijuana plants.  The residence was being used as sleeping quarters and work area for a large scale commercial operation.  The adjacent shop area was being used as an indoor growing area as well as marijuana processing area. FATAL CRASH ON HWY 234-JACKSON COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Monday, August 22, 2022 at approximately 9:59 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 234 near milepost 16.  Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound Hyundai Sante Fe, operated by Sheldon Hensley (24) of Medford, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound Subaru Forrester, operated by Feliz McGonagle (67) of Trail.  Impairment is being investigated as a contributing factor.  Hensley and his passenger, Maria Regalado (24) of Medford, were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. McGonagle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.  Hwy 234 was closed for approximately 5 hours while the scene was investigated by OSP's Collision Reconstruction Unit.  OSP was assisted by Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire Department, AMR, Lifeflight and ODOT.
