Myrtle Point Fire, Mast Brothers Towing, and neighbors rescue a man and two kids from a flooded truck

Coos County Sheriff's Office On March 17, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call about a pickup truck stuck in high water on Arago-Fistrap Road. At the time, no marine deputies were available, so Myrtle Point Fire and Mast Brothers Towing were dispatched for assistance.  Willie Burris with Myrtle Point Fire, Mast Brothers Towing, and several neighbors assisted in helping the man and his two children (3 yrs old and 8 yrs old) out of the vehicle and back to dry land.  The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Myrtle Point Fire, Mast Brothers, and all others involved in the rescue. TRASH BIN FIRE SLOWS TRAFFIC ON I105

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to a large dumpster fire on the shoulder of Eastbound I-105 near the Willamette River in Eugene Friday afternoon.  The dumpster was carrying cardboard and other recyclables from Junction City.  Crews had to call in extra resources for water to fully extinguish the fire.  Evening commuter traffic was impacted during the operation.  The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported.    Click Here To Download Our App

PEDESTRIAN HIT AND KILLED BY VEHICLE WHILE CROSSING T.V. HIGHWAY

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office Members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) arrest the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian. On Friday, March 17, 2023, at 3:48 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. When deputies arrived, they learned a person was crossing Tualatin Valley Highway in a crosswalk near SW 178 th  Avenue when a white 2001 Volvo S60 struck the person and then crashed into a power pole. The pedestrian was killed in the crash.  The driver, 32-year-old Emanuel Starr, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and was released a few hours later.  The Sheriff’s Office  Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team  (CART) responded to the scene to investigate the crash. WASHINGTON COUNTY'S WIN TEAM SEIZES MORE THAN 150,000 FENTANYL PILLS AND 3 KILOGRAMS OF POWDER FENTANYL

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office Members of the  Westside Interagency Narcotics  team recovered 150,000 fentanyl pills and 3 kilograms of powder fentanyl. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Westside Interagency Narcotics (WIN) Team members received information from Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force (ACNTF) that a car heading for the Portland Metro area was likely trafficking bulk fentanyl.  WIN located the vehicle at a residence and drafted a search warrant. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office reviewed a search warrant for the residence that was ultimately granted. The WIN team serviced the search warrant and recovered 150,000 fentanyl pills and three kilograms of powder fentanyl with the assistance of Washington County Sheriff's Office K9 Mando. FATAL CRASH - HWY 101 - LINCOLN COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at approximately 3:28 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy-101, near milepost 152, in Lincoln County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a white Subaru Impreza WRX, operated by Ashlee Christine Hayden (32) of Tidewater, was southbound when, for an unknown reason, it crossed into the northbound lane and struck a white Chevy box truck, operated by Victor Loreza (40) of Salem, head on.    The operator of the Subaru was declared deceased at the scene.   The Chevy box truck operator and two passengers, Jose Soto Hernandez (38) of Salem and Jesus Vargas Gerardo (40) of Salem, were all transported to hospitals with serious injuries.   The highway was closed for approximately 5 hours while the on-scene investigation was conducted.   OSP was assisted by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Central Coast Fire Department, Seal Rock Fire Department, ODOT and Life Flight.   Click Here To Download Our App

CREWS EXTINGUISH EARLY MORNING FIRE IN EUGENE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to an early morning house fire at the intersection of Cal Young and Ravenwood in North Eugene.  Arriving firefighters found a home under construction well involved in fire. Fire crews found evidence to suggest the building was being used as temporary shelter, but a thorough search found no occupants and there were no reported injuries.  The fire was contained to the structure of origin with extensive damage due to the lack of sheetrock and void spaces.  The cause is under investigation.  The caller was alerted to the fire by roosting turkeys making a bunch of noise.  While we appreciate the assist, turkeys are not a good substitute for working smoke detectors!  Click Here To Download Our App

RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE - 1576 SE OVERLOOK AVENUE

Roseburg Fire Dept. At 3:00 a.m. on March 15, 2023, Roseburg Fire Department personnel responded to a reported residential structure fire at 1576 SE Overlook Avenue.   Multiple callers notified Douglas County Dispatch of smoke and flames visible in the area of Fisher and Overlook Avenue.   A reporting party notified dispatch they were unaware if any residents were inside the residential structure.  Occupancy of the structure is unknown at this time and under investigation. Upon arrival on scene, firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the west side of the residential structure.  Firefighters made an exterior attack only due to scene conditions.  The structure sustained significant structural and water damage.   A total of 17 firefighters assisted with firefighting operations.  Other agencies assisting with the fire included Douglas County Fire District #2, Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Roseburg Police Department, Pacific Power, and Avista Utilities.  A fire investigator was on s

MISSING 89-YEAR-OLD ROBERT REAGLES

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, ORE. -  The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Division has been assisting the Roseburg Police Department in searching for Robert (Bob) Reagles, an 89-year-old man with dementia who is believed to have walked away from his home in the 1600-block of NW Kline Street Tuesday evening.  Reagles was discovered missing from his home at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Roseburg, OR. It is believed that he walked away from his residence between 9:15 pm and 11:30 pm Tuesday night. Reagles, who has medical diagnoses, including dementia, is believed to be at-risk. He is 5'09" 130lbs with white/brown hair. Police Activity Causes Schools to “Secure” on Two Consecutive Days

Grants Pass Police Department Grants Pass, Ore. -  Today at 11:54 AM, the Grants Pass Police Department requested to have North Middle School and Highland Elementary go into “Secure” status as we tracked a wanted fugitive who had fled in the area. While in “Secure” status, which is used when schools aren’t believed to be in immediate danger, the schools move the children indoors, lock all exterior doors, and go about business as usual.  At 1:45 PM, the “secure” status was lifted after police located and arrested Shawn Timothy Oleary, who had been hiding in a shed on NW Blossom Drive. Oleary was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for multiple felony warrants, possession of a gun, and possession of a felony quantity of Fentanyl. Lincoln City Police Asking For Public's Help Locating Missing Juvenile

Lincoln City Police   UPDATE -She has been located and is safe. On Saturday evening, March 11, 2023 at about 10:40 PM, Lincoln City Police patrol officers received a call regarding a missing juvenile female. It was reported that the female was last seen at approximately 9:00 PM by family members on foot in the area of the “D” River Wayside State Park. The missing female is identified as 16-year-old Aubrey Huhn, who is described as being 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds, with short brown hair and green eyes. Aubrey was last seen wearing baggy blue jeans, a gray long sleeve shirt with green stripes on the sleeves and white shoes.    The Lincoln City Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Aubrey and asking they contact the Lincoln City Police Department if they have any information regarding Aubrey’s whereabouts.The Lincoln City Police Department can be contacted at their business number of 541-994-3636 or by calling 911 if you are in the Lincoln City area.

FBI Arrests Coos Bay Man For Sex Abuse

Coos County Sheriff's Office On July 31, 2022 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of the sexual abuse of a (14) year old female.  Sgt. S. Moore conducted an initial investigation and the report was then forwarded to Det. D. Ritz.   The suspect was identified as Willard V. Cowan (60) years of age of Coos Bay.  During the course of the investigation several interviews were conducted, and an enormous amount of follow-up was completed.    Due to this investigation by Det. Ritz he applied for and was granted a search warrant to search Mr. Cowan’s home for the evidence of the reported sexual abuse and other crimes, related to this investigation. The search warrant was executed at Mr. Cowan’s residence, east of Coos Bay on August 17, 2022 where evidence pertaining to the reported crime and others was seized.  As the investigation continued, Det. YONCALLA MAN DIES IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office YONCALLA, Ore. -  A Yoncalla man died in a single vehicle traffic crash Thursday evening.  On Thursday, March 9, 2023, shortly before 6:00 p.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received reports of a single vehicle crash in the 1900-block of Hayhurst Road in Yoncalla.  Deputies arrived on scene to find a 2012 Dodge Caravan, which had been traveling north on Hayhurst Road, off of the roadway. The driver was identified as 67-year-old John Fred Kowal of Yoncalla. Kowal was pronounced deceased at the scene by E.M.S. Kowal, the only occupant in the vehicle, was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.  Indications at the scene and from witness statements are that Kowal's vehicle had entered into the path of an oncoming vehicle in a corner when Kowal made a sharp correction and leaving the roadway. Speed and alcohol are suspected to be contributing factors in the incident.  The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by North Douglas Fire & E.M.S.

MENACING/UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On March 9 th , 2023 at 1:22 p.m., Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disturbance with shots fired in the 500 Block of Terrace Heights Drive in Selma. While enroute, Deputies were advised a male subject identified as Ryan Gregory Vanhoy, entered the victim’s residence, pointed a firearm at the victim then fired a round into the victims refrigerator before leaving on foot back to his residence.  Both Vanhoy and the victim live in different residences on the same property.  The victim was not injured and advised Vanhoy possessed numerous weapons and body armor.  Two Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the victim.  It was at this time, Vanhoy exited his residence with a firearm and started to approach the Deputies on foot.  Based on the distance between Vanhoy and the Deputies location, the Deputies were able to tactically retreat off the property preventing a potential use of deadly force with Vanhoy.  Hav
