Man arrested for DUII on a “Side-by-side” in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area

Coos County Sheriff's Office On April 15 th , 2023, at 3:40 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call from a concerned citizen who had been recreating on the dunes and returned to the Old Bark Staging Area. The caller reported that several people were intoxicated, and one was driving a “side-by-side”  in the parking area and on the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (ODNRA). The “side-by-side” was described as an orange and black Polaris.  Deputies M.R. Smith and B. Kent from the Dunes Division of the Sheriff’s Office responded via the (ODNRA) from Riley Ranch to attempt to locate the “side-by-side.”  Deputies M.R. Smith and B. Kent arrived at the Old Bark Staging area and located the vehicle and person which had been reported to dispatch.  At this time, the “side-by-side” was not in operation. Deputies contacted Tristan L. ALBANY MAN (45) ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF HIS MOTHER (67)

Albany Police On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at about 9:23pm Albany Police Department received a 911 call from the 1500 block of Del Rio Ave SE, Albany, Linn County, OR.  The 911 call was an open line and sounds of disturbance were heard.  Officers responded to the area and located Michael Flitcroft (45) in the street near the residence.  Flitcroft was detained by police without incident.  Officers were alerted to the inside of the residence where they found Flitcroft’s mother, Suzanne Smith (67) deceased from apparent homicidal violence.  Suzanne Smith and her husband, Stewart Smith, are long-time residents of Albany and lived at the residence alone with their pets.   Michael Flitcroft has been arrested on multiple charges related to this incident including Murder in the Second Degree.  Michael Flitcroft was also arrested for assault in the fourth degree for injuring Stewart Smith.  Albany Police are continuing their investigation with the assistance of the Linn County Sheriff Office, L

ON-DUTY OFFICER KILLED- MALHEUR COUNTY

Oregon State Police On April 15, 2023, at approximately 8:20pm, Nyssa Police Department Reserve Officer Joseph Johnson (43) was dispatched to a call of concern regarding a violent individual damaging property and threatening others near a residence in Nyssa. In the process of responding, Officer Johnson learned the suspect (Rene Castro) had fled in a vehicle and began a pursuit through the city. When it appeared, the vehicle was stopping at the residence at the corner of Locust and 3 rd  Street N., Officer Johnson pulled off the road as well. Immediately upon making the stop, an armed subject (believed to be Castro) began shooting at Officer Johnson. There was no time to return fire before Officer Johnson was fatally hit. Castro fled the scene immediately. EMTs were on scene in record time, with the Malheur County Sheriff’s department right behind, but Officer Johnson was already deceased. FATAL CRASH ON HIGHWAY 99W NEAR MONROE

Benton Co. Sheriff's Office CORVALLIS, Ore.  – On Thursday, April 13, 2023, Benton County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Deputies responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 99W, north of Monroe, Oregon. At 2:48 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99W, just north of Old River Road. The driver, a 62-year-old male from Junction City, was northbound in a Kia Spectra when his car traveled across the centerline and crashed into a large tree on the west side of the highway.  The male was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis where he was later pronounced deceased. His next of kin was notified by the Junction City Police Department.  The BCSO Crash Team observed no indication of braking or evasive maneuvering before the crash, consistent with a medical incident. Sheriff's Office On April 13, 2023, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a child predator sting where investigators used multiple dating applications, social media sites, and other online platforms to pose as underage boys and girls. The people contacted the profiles online and offered to meet a person they believed to be a child for sex. When the people arrived to meet the child, they were instead contacted by law enforcement and arrested. During the mission, multiple people immediately ended their conversations once they learned the person they were talking to clearly identified as a minor who provided a specific age. The following people were arrested for the felony crimes of luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree: Sean Baba, 29, of Portland. CALL OF MAN WITH GUN YIELDS 100S OF STOLEN APARTMENT KEYS

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.- At approximately 12:46 this afternoon, patrol officers responded to the area of SE 190th Ave. and SE Division St. on the report a suspicious male standing in a parking lot, holding a gun. A 911 caller saw the man trying to break into vehicles before walking eastbound on Division St., with a female.  A short time later, the couple was seen entering the parking lot of the nearby Mountain Knolls Apartments, 3180 NW Division St., Gresham, where another caller believed the suspects were associated with a possibly stolen 2011 Kia Sportage. Officers later determined the Kia was reported stolen on April 9, from the 2900 Block of W. Powell Blvd., Gresham. As officers arrived, the suspects ran to evade capture, but both were apprehended a short time later and taken into custody without further incident. LENDDELL LEE SNEED SENTENCED TO 120 MONTHS IN PRISON FOR ROBBERIES OF WASHINGTON COUNTY BUSINESSES

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore. (April 11, 2023) — Today, Lenddell Lee Sneed, age 34, pleaded guilty to two counts of Robbery in the First Degree. Deputy District Attorney Alyssa Camp prosecuted the case before Judge Ricardo Menchaca. Judge Menchaca sentenced Sneed to 120 months in prison with three years of post-prison supervision. Around 1:00 p.m. on February 13, 2023, Sneed approached an employee of the Tigard Bowl in Tigard, Ore., and claimed that a bill was stuck in one of the video lottery machines. When the employee retrieved the key and opened the machine to recover the bill, Sneed pointed an air gun manufactured to resemble a Glock 19 at the employee’s head. Sneed demanded that the employee hand over the money from the open machine and open additional machines in the room.  He was later spotted purchasing new clothes on video surveillance at a nearby Big 5 store. At approximately 3:30 p.m. that same day, Sneed began using the video lottery machine

ESPRESSO STAND IN ALVADORE BURGLARIZED

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the report of a burglary on Sunday morning at a coffee stand in the 27000blk of Clear Lake Rd. Investigation reveals that an unknown male suspect broke a window and stole the cash register from inside shortly after 2:00am.  An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.  Surveillance video was able to capture images of both the suspect and his vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male adult wearing blue jeans and a black hooded jacket.  His vehicle appears to be a maroon sedan with faded paint spots and a US Army sticker on the lower-right corner of the rear window.  The vehicle also had a temporary ‘donut’ tire mounted on the rear passenger side at the time of the burglary.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150 opt. 1.  Click Here To Download Our App

MISSING ALBANY BOY LOCATED IN PORTLAND

Albany Police On Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11:35 a.m., Albany Police received information from a citizen that Alyssa Thomas and Tryston Wade were currently at the Lloyd Center Mall in Portland, Oregon. Albany Police Detectives contacted the Portland Police Bureau requesting assistance in attempting to locate Tryston Wade and Alyssa Thomas. Officers from the Portland Police Bureau located Wade and Thomas in the food court area inside the Lloyd Center Mall.  Tryston Wade was taken into protective custody and Alyssa Thomas was taken into custody on an arrest warrant and probable cause for custodial interference.  Four Albany Police Detectives responded to the Portland Police Bureau North Precinct.  Two Detectives took custody of Alyssa Thomas and transported her to the Albany Police Department to be interviewed.  Two Albany Police Detectives took protective custody of Tryston Wade and transported him back to Albany.  Tryston Wade was reunited with his mother at approximately 5:00 p.m.   

FATAL CRASH - HWY 97 - JEFFERSON COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Sunday, April 9, 2023, at approximately 9:39 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Hwy-97, near milepost 102, in Jefferson County.   The preliminary investigation indicated a Chrysler Town & Country, operated by Enrique Santellano Reynoso (53) of Madras, was driving northbound on US-97 when it crossed the centerline and side swiped a southbound Nissan Rogue, operated by Lupe Verbena Galicia (23) of Warm Springs, causing damage to the driver's side of the Rogue. The Chrysler then crashed head on with a southbound Jeep Wrangler, operated by Dustin Evan Ferren (23) of Madras.  The occupants of the Nissan Rogue were not injured. The driver of the Jeep (Ferren) was life flighted to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Chrysler (Reynoso) was pronounced deceased at the scene.   The cause of the crash is under investigation.  The highway was impacted for 3.5 hours while the on-scene investigation was conducted.   OSP

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On April 10 th , 2023, at 6:20 pm, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 300 Block of McMullen Creek Road.  Upon arrival, Deputies located a white 2012 Volvo station wagon off the roadway and crashed into a tree.  The driver and only occupant, Derick L. Williams, was found deceased in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.  He was not wearing a seatbelt.  Evidence at the scene indicates the vehicle was traveling north on McMullen Creek at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.  The roadway was also wet from the recent rain.  Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response assisted at the scene.   Next of kin has been notified. CRITICAL INCIDENT -- INTERSTATE 5 -- MARION COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Monday, April 10, 2023, at approximately 8:42 A.M., an Oregon State Trooper was involved in a critical incident on Interstate 5 northbound, near milepost 254.  The incident included an Officer Involved Shooting and a suspect is deceased.    Traffic will be impacted in the area for several hours.   The Marion County Major Crimes team has been activated and Salem PD is the lead investigating agency.  All further releases will come from Salem PD or the Marion County District Attorney’s Office. MISSING 13-YEAR-OLD ALBANY BOY -- ALBANY POLICE CASE

  Albany Police On April 5, 2023, at 10:24 p.m., Albany Police took a missing person report regarding 13-year-old Tryston Charles Wade of Albany. Brittany Lyanne Wade reported her son Tryston had been at a friend’s residence in the 2000 block of SE 6 th  Avenue, Albany on April 5 th,  and when she went to pick him up around 3:40 p.m., she was told he had left the residence.  Brittany Wade also told police she was told that her son Tryston was believed to be in the company of 24-year-old Alyssa Kathleen Thomas of Albany.  On April 6 th , Albany Police received information that Tryston Wade and Alyssa Thomas were reportedly in the Portland area and were attempting to get transportation out of state. Albany Police have checked known locations in Albany and Linn County for Alyssa Thomas and have been in contact with Portland Police regarding Thomas and Wade being in the Portland area. Lane Co. Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 40-year-old Mekenna Reiley of Blue River. On the evening of April 6 th , friends and neighbors reported they had not seen or heard from Reiley in a few days. Her phone, purse, vehicle, and dog were left behind at her residence near the Blue River Reservoir, but Reiley was nowhere to be found.  Reiley was last seen in the area of River Street and McKenzie Highway in Blue River on April 5 th . She was possibly suffering from a mental health crisis. METH/FENTANYL ARRESTS

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested two Honduran men in the early morning hours of April 6th, 2023.  Detectives have been investigating this organization for some time and have developed information indicating they are involved with large scale drug trafficking crimes.     Detectives contacted the individuals as they were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 700 block of NW Garden Valley Blvd in Roseburg, at approximately 2:45 AM on Thursday morning.  The individuals had just arrived in the area from California.  Both individuals were detained, pending application for a search warrant for their vehicle.     Detectives obtained the search warrant and upon searching the vehicle found a huge amount of both methamphetamine and fentanyl, including a large amount of suspected carfentanil.     As many know at this point, Fentanyl is a dangerous synthetic opioid that is the dominant drug of

Man tracked by K9 Cena and arrested after eluding police in a stolen vehicle

Coos County Sheriff's Office On April 7, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received information that Reedsport Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a silver Ford Mustang. Dispatch further relayed that the chase began in the Florence area.  After receiving this information, Sgt. Slater from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the north county line with “Stop sticks” to assist in ending this dangerous chase. While en-route, dispatch advised Reedsport Police had lost sight of the vehicle. A short time later, an Oregon State Police Trooper observed the vehicle turn onto Wildwood Road in Hauser from the south entrance. The Trooper followed the car (not in pursuit) to where it entered Ocean Pines, R.V. Park. Sgt. Slater responded to the R.V. Park and observed the silver Mustang attempting to exit the park. Potential suspects were identified in burglary case from surveillance cameras

Coos County Sheriff's Office On March 31 st, 2023, Deputy Mong from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a burglary that occurred on Golf Course Lane, east of North Bend. During the investigation, a suspect vehicle was identified from surveillance cameras at the residence. On April 7, 2023, at 7:10 a.m. Deputy M.R. Smith located the suspect vehicle in Coos Bay, recognizing it from the surveillance photos shared internally with law enforcement. During contact with the car, two suspects in the aforementioned burglary were identified as Jonathan L. Baron (34) and Alica M. Tate (27), both of Coos Bay. During the investigation, it was learned that Mr. Baron had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and admitted to previously being on the property located on Golf Course Lane; however, he denied stealing any items. Alert neighbor calls in burglary resulting in two guns being removed from the street

Coos County Sheriff's Office On April 6, 2023, at 11:10 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a burglary in progress occurring at a residence near the intersection of Cape Arago Hwy and Beacon Lane just south of Coos Bay. Sgt. A. Slater responded, and upon arrival, the suspect, later identified as Jordan J. Duvall (33) of Coos Bay, began to flee from the location on his bicycle. Sgt. Slater eventually stopped Mr. Duvall with the assistance of Deputy M.R. Smith.  Mr. Duvall admitted to trespassing on the property as had been previously reported and denied owning the property. Mr. Duvall also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Additionally, Deputies removed two fully loaded Simi-automatic 9mm firearms from Mr. Duvall, one in his front jacket pocket and the other in his backpack.  Mr. Duvall was arrested on the outstanding warrants and charged additionally with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and criminal trespass. OSP SEEKING THE PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE WITH INFORMATION IN A HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION- CAVE JUNCTION- JOSEPHINE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On March 30, 2023, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a missing female, Aleah N. Aaron (25) of Cave Junction. The Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section was contacted and asked to lead the investigation. Investigators later found Ms. Aaron’s deceased body in rural Josephine County near Cave Junction.  On April 2, 2023, investigators arrested Thomas R. Fuertes (35) of O’Brien, Oregon in connection with Ms. Aaron’s death. Oregon City Police Dept. 23-year-old Gena Tortolani left her group home on Roosevelt Street at noon on April 4, 2023. Gena does not have a phone and is diagnosed with several medical and mental health issues that require medication. METH/HEROIN ARRESTS

Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) On Tuesday, April 4th, at approximately 4:30 PM, detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrested 2 individuals from the Eugene area for meth and heroin crimes.   Detectives, with help from deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 800 block of John Long Road, Oakland (Rice Hill truck stop area).  This stop was made as part of an ongoing investigation into the occupants of the vehicle, and their suspected drug trafficking activities.   A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 141 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine in several separate bags.  Also located was one small bag containing approximately 2.7 grams of suspected heroin.   44 year old Michael Bethel, of Eugene, and 34 year old Catherine Silva, also of Eugene, were both lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Delivery of Methampheta
