Escape/Resisting Arrest

Newport Police Dept. - 05/08/18 

On May 7th, 2018 the Newport Police Department responded to the area of the Lincoln County Jail on the report of a wanted subject fleeing from the Lincoln County Parole and Probation Office.
 Officers learned Aaron Christopher Allen, 24 of Newport, had a valid outstanding warrant for his arrest, and fled the area in an attempt to avoid capture. Officers observed Allen running southbound past the Newport Post Office and attempted to contact him there, but Allen again avoided capture.
 Two Parole and Probation Officers observed Allen walking southbound in the 400 block of SW Coast Hwy. Officers responded to the area and attempted to take Allen into custody. As Allen was being taken into custody, he struck a parole and probation officer in the face. Allen was  detained and arrested without further incident.
  Allen was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail for the following charges;

    Warrant – Parole/ Probation Violation
