Sheriff's Office IDLEYLD PARK, Ore.  - Search crews continue their efforts looking for the missing Roseburg woman who disappeared on Saturday, September 25, 2021, from Lemolo Forebay #2 near Toketee. 43-year-old Branda Hoyle was on an outing with family members when she walked away from the group. When she didn't return, family became concerned and began looking for her. They later called 9-1-1 when they hadn't located her. Search efforts have been underway since Saturday without any new information.  “As hunters and outdoor enthusiasts are in the area this weekend, be aware that Branda is still missing and report any information that may be helpful to searchers," remarked Lt. Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On September 29 th  at 12:01 AM the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported assault and gunshots being fired in the 700 block of Caves Highway in Cave Junction.  Deputies arrived to find the suspect being detained by neighbors at gunpoint.  Upon investigation, Deputies determined the suspect forced entry into a residence in the 700 block of Caves Highway.  After gaining entry, the suspect assaulted a female resident in front of her child, stole property from the residence and attempted to flee in a pickup.  While attempting to flee in the pickup the suspect drove through a yard, hit a parked car, struck a children’s play structure and crashed into another residence on the property, causing damage. ROSEBURG POLICE OFFICERS RESCUE DROWNING WOMAN

Roseburg Police Dept. ROSEBURG, OR – Roseburg Police officers rescued a drowning woman from the South Umpqua River early Wednesday morning. Police were called to the bank of the river near Stewart Parkway bridge by a Roseburg man, identified as James Smith, who alerted Douglas County Emergency Communications at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday that his female friend got in trouble as the pair tried to swim in the river. The man got out of the water and called 9-1-1 to help Brittany Rose Shepherd, 24, of Roseburg. The man told emergency dispatchers Shepherd was struggling to tread water and unable to make it back to shore, and he was unable to help her. Roseburg Police officers, along with Roseburg Fire Department fire personnel, responded to the report of a female in distress in the South Umpqua River near Stewart Park. Roseburg Police Sgergeant Jeff Eichenbusch, Officer Dawson Batsch and Officer Brandon Halter arrived on scene and found the woman was out near the middle of the river treading water

THREE MEN ARRESTED IN UNDERCOVER CHILD PREDATOR STING

Sheriff's Office On Thursday, September 23, 2021, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted a child predator sting where investigators posed on a variety of social media platforms as juvenile boys and girls. The men contacted undercover deputies online and were arrested after arriving at a location where they believed they would be meeting a child in person for sex. GRESHAM POLICE MOURN DEATH OF BELOVED K9

Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore.— With heavy hearts we announce the passing of one our beloved K9s, Basco.  Experiencing a rapidly progressing illness, 11-year-old Basco ended his watch over Gresham last night at 10:50 p.m. while on patrol with his partner, Officer Debler.  The two had been working side-by-side for almost 10 years. Gresham Police acquired the ½ Belgian Malinois- ½ German Shepherd in 2012, when he was one year old.  Basco is credited with more than 300 apprehensions of suspected criminals. He is also responsible for countless situations where his presence brought quick and incident-free resolution to dangerous events.  “He was an amazing partner and exceptional canine,” Officer Debler said.  “I am thankful for all the work we did together to keep our community safe and I’ll miss him greatly.” While primarily providing K9 services for patrol calls, Basco was also a fully integrated SWAT K9 as part of the East Metro SWAT team, used in numerous high-risk situations.  Basc

ALSEA MAN ARRESTED ON SEVERAL COUNTS OF SEX ABUSE

Benton Co. Sheriff's Office CORVALLIS, Ore.   – Benton County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested forty-year-old Joshua Allen Reeves, of Alsea, on September 22, 2021. Reeves was charged with two counts of Sex Abuse II, seven counts of Sodomy I, three counts of Sex Abuse III, three counts of Rape I, Sexual Penetration I, and Strangulation. On February 21, 2021, a minor female disclosed to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office she had been sexually assaulted by Joshua Reeves over a five-month period in 2019. Detectives ultimately located Reeves on September 22 in Florence, Oregon. He was interviewed, taken into custody, transported back to Corvallis, and booked into the Benton County Jail. HELP IDENTIFYING ILLEGAL DUMPING SUSPECT - LANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in an illegal dumping incident that occurred near Big Fall Creek Rd. Milepost 3 earlier this summer.  The suspect is described as a medium build white male adult with gray balding hair. He had a gray beard at the time of the incident.  The suspect is associated with a dark gray or black four door Toyota Tacoma pickup with oversized wheels and tires. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has already received over 100 separate reports of illegal dumping in 2021.  Not only does illegal dumping create unsafe and hazardous conditions, it damages our beautiful landscape and costs Lane County taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars every year.    Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to contact Deputy Todd Olson with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4141 opt. 1 .

Oregon State Police On September 25, 2021, at approximately 11:58 A.M., OSP  received a 911 call for a welfare check of a subject lying face down in the gravel in front of his silver 2015 Ford F350 crew cab pulling his 2019 Keystone Cougar travel trailer.  OSP Troopers found a truck and trailer matching that description on I-84 exit 109 westbound parked at the bottom of the off-ramp.    OSP Troopers made contact with the driver, who was now behind the wheel of the truck and unresponsive. The driver was identified as Derek Martell (38). Derek Martell had severe head trauma and was life-flighted to an area hospital for treatment.   Derek Martell was returning home to Veneta, Oregon from an Elk hunting trip in Eastern Oregon with friends. Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office Around 2 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, following a traffic stop, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to take a suspect into custody near SE 145 th  and SE King Road in Happy Valley. A struggle ensued and the suspect was shot by a deputy. Lifesaving measures were administered; however, the suspect died at the scene. A handgun was recovered near the suspect. Detectives  are currently working to reconstruct details leading up to the traffic stop and officer-involved shooting. This investigation is being led by the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, in collaboration with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office. FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH ON HWY 126- LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On September 25, 2021, at about 2:19 P.M., Oregon State Police Trooper and emergency personnel responded to the report of a crash involving two motorcycles on Hwy 126 E near milepost 13, east of Mackenzie Bridge. The preliminary investigation revealed that a blue 1993 BMW K11 motorcycle, operated by Karly Rudolph Klassen (60) of Springfield, Oregon was traveling eastbound on 126E and entered into the oncoming lane of travel, possibly to pass other motorists. A second motorcycle, a maroon 2014 Harley-Davison, operated by Michael Brad Siegel (68) of Tucson, Arizona was making a left-hand turn onto a forest service road when it was T-boned by the blue BMW. Life-saving measures were taken by medical personnel that happen to be in the area, but Klassen suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Siegel was life-flighted to the Riverbend Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.   Southern Oregon Scanner A Simi has crashed on I-5 at milepost 168 southbound. Both southbound lines are blocked by the semi. The semi has pushed the center barrier into the northbound lines causing several vehicles to crash blocking both northbound lines as well. FATAL CRASH ON INTERSTATE 5-MARION COUNTY

Oregon State Police On September 25, 2021 at approximately 2:50 PM, Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 277. Preliminary investigation revealed a Freightliner CMV operated by Long Kim Phan (57) of Portland, was traveling northbound when the CMV rear-ended a Subaru wagon operated by Caitlin Dutterer (37) of Salem, who was slowing for heavy traffic ahead. The initial collision caused a chain reaction crash involving a Ford pickup, operated by Ricardo Guzman-Garcia (39) of Bend, a Honda CRV operated by Anissa Teslow (36) of Philomath, a Cadillac XTS SUV operated by James Tier (74) of Redmond and a Chevrolet Suburban towing a boat operated by Carl Parker (53) of Dallas.  A passenger in the Subaru wagon, Andrew Dutterer (43) of Salem, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. The other involved operators along with multiple passengers were transported to local area hospitals with minor injuries.

She was last seen near the Lemolo #2 Forebay near Toketee on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 9:00 am.  She is described as 5'7'' tall 200 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, gray ugg boots or white colored tennis shoes. She may be suffering from a mental health crisis.  If you have seen her or have information which may assist investigators, please call the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (Oregon) at 541-440-4471.

TWO INJURED IN DAYTIME SHOOTING

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office At just after 1:00 p.m. today, September 25 th , 2021, a 911 caller reported a shooting on Tide Court NE near Surfwood Drive NE in the unincorporated area of Salem. Initial reports indicated at least two people were injured and a vehicle was seen fleeing the scene. Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office along with other local and state law enforcement responded to the area.  Multiple people have been detained by law enforcement officials in connection with the shooting and the vehicle reported to have fled the scene has been located. Investigators learned a total of three victims sustained injuries during the shooting.  A 10 year-old male was taken to the hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries.  The second known victim, a 31 year-old male, is in stable condition. Due to this being an active investigation no additional information is available for release at this time.  Community members who may have information about this incident

CREWS PERFORM NIGHT TIME WATER RESCUE

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Fire crews were called to perform a night time water rescue in the Willamette River just north of Beltline in Eugene.  Lane County Sheriff‘s and Eugene Police located a male and female in distress on an island in the middle of the river.  Low water conditions and the dangers of operating a jet boat on the river at night prevent normal means of accessing the individuals.  A Eugene Springfield water rescue crew hiked in with the gear necessary to access the individuals via a specialized inflatable boat and ropes.  A Eugene Police drone operator provided a means to scout the area and communicate with the individuals while a plan was developed to safely remove them.  The individuals had been rafting earlier when they made it to the island.  They were wet and cold but otherwise un-injured.

JUVENILE INJURED BY GUNSHOT

Salem Police Dept. Salem, Ore.   —  On September 23, 2021 at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded to Secor Park, 5555 Stockton AV S, on a call of a juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding officers provided first aid to the juvenile until he was transported to Salem Health. He is expected to survive.  Officers and detectives eventually determined five juveniles, one female and four males ages 13 to 16, were in the wooded area of Secor Park. Two of the teens had handguns. One of the teens was handling one of the firearms when it discharged, and a round struck another teen below the waist.  Two firearms were recovered at the scene. Two of the male juveniles were arrested for the following crimes and taken to the  Marion County Juvenile Detention Center : Unlawful use of a weapon Unlawful possession of a firearm Carrying a concealed firearm Reckless endangering No further information will be release regarding this case. 

OSP TROOPERS INITIATES A HIGH-RISK TRAFFIC STOP AFTER ROAD RAGE INCIDENT- LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On September 23, 2021, at approximately 4:09 P.M., members of the Oregon State Police Springfield Area Command received a menacing complaint on I-5, near milepost 189.  Troopers were advised that two vehicles were involved in a road rage incident and one of the motorists pointed a firearm at the victim vehicle during the incident.  Troopers were able to stop the vehicle on I-5 NB near milepost 205, where a high-risk stop was initiated.   The subject was taken into custody without incident. The driver was identified as Roger Dale Brown Jr. (39) from Gresham, Oregon.  The driver was found to be a convicted felon.  During a search of the vehicle, Troopers located four more weapons, two 45cal semi-auto pistols, a 308cal SCAR Assault rifle, and a pistol style AK47 with a 75-round drum.  All weapons were loaded with bullets in the chambers and a heavy ballistic vest with rifle-rated plates in it.  There was also a seizure of approximately $60,000.  The suspect was ultimat

1977 DOUBLE HOMICIDE SOLVED

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On Monday, June 9, 1977, sixteen year old Lliana Gay Adank and seventeen year old Eric Shawn Goldstrand, both North Eugene High School students, went to the Broken Bowl picnic grounds at Fall Creek, for an afternoon picnic and fishing outing.  When the couple failed to return home, their parents notified the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.  LCSO personnel located the female victim at the secluded picnic area. The male victim was located in the nearby brush a few hours later.  The female victim had been sexually assaulted and both victims had been shot to death.  Since the killings, detectives have worked to solve the case.  Initially the crime scene was searched and processed, area searches were completed and roadblocks were put in place. FEDERAL EMPLOYEE WHO ACCESSED CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ABOARD GOVERNMENT RESEARCH VESSEL SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon EUGENE, Ore.—A federal government employee who accessed and possessed child pornography while working aboard a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientific research vessel was sentenced to federal prison today. Johnny Dale Hale, 44, was sentenced to 24 months in prison and five years’ supervised release.  He was also ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution to his victims. According to court documents, in late 2016, Hale, a decorated veteran, was working as a crew member aboard the  Bell M. Shimada , a NOAA scientific research vessel.  On or about November 15, 2016, the vessel was experiencing technical connectivity issues and the information technology team began running diagnostics. While troubleshooting, an electronics technician discovered two new folders on the ship’s server containing what he believed to be child pornography. Diagnostics showed that Hale’s unique employee access card was associated with the time and

Arrest Made in Overnight Commercial Burglaries

Eugene Police Department Eugene Police arrested a man in a series of commercial burglaries that occurred between last night and this morning.  Eugene Police patrol responded to a series of commercial burglaries that occurred between 23:53 p.m. on September 21 and 5:36 a.m. September 22.  The first two occurred at Pegasus Pizza and Laughing Planet, 2864 Willamette Street, just before midnight, when an object was thrown through a glass window or door and the cash registers targeted. The next burglary, which was similar in nature, was called in a little after 3 a.m. September 22, and took place at the Friendly Neighborhood Pub, 1601 Chambers Street.  An area check for the suspect was again unsuccessful.  At 5:36 a.m. September 22 an employee of Safeway, 1500 Coburg Road, called to report someone had just broken the glass doors into Ta Ra Rin, 1520 Coburg Road. Officers arrived and found the glass door into the nearby Papa Murphey's Pizza had also been broken. Officers searched and one
