ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION

Newport Police Department   On February 29, 2024, the Newport Police were dispatched to Sam Case Elementary School on the report of an attempted stranger abduction. Officers learned that between 7 AM and 7:45 AM, a student at Sam Case Elementary was walking to school when they were approached by a woman in a white van on NE 9th Street between NE Grant Street and NE Fogarty Street in Newport. The woman walked around the van, opened the passenger door, and tried to talk the student into getting in for a ride. The student refused to get in the van and ran to school. Once at the school, the student reported the incident to school staff, who immediately reported the incident to the Police. The student is safe.   Newport Police searched the area for the van and suspect but were unable to locate either. FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO EARLY MORNING EXPLOSION

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene, OR.  Eugene Springfield Firefighters responses to an explosion at the 2-Bridges Homes For Good Location located at 599 E Broadway in Eugene  Thursday Morning .   At 07:05 AM , Firefighters responded for a fire alarm at the location.  On their arrival Firefighters found evidence of an explosion at the occupancy with two identified patients.  Two adults were evaluated and one transported to the hospital for burn injuries.  The explosion and fire activated the sprinkler system which extinguished the fire.  An investigation determined the explosion was a result of illegal hash oil extraction.  A fire watch has been ordered while the sprinkler system is restored.  No other occupants were injured or displaced.                           Click Here To Download Our App

POLICE SEEK HELP LOCATING MISSING ENDANGERED ADULT

Gresham Police Dept Rory Fitzgerald was located by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies this morning at approximately 8:00 a.m., in the 14300 block of SE Richey Rd., and transported to a local hospital for care. Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing 39 year old male, Rory Fitzgerald. The staff at Fitzgerald’s Care Home, in the 1200 block of SE Roberts Ave., say they discovered Rory was missing at approximately 1:45 p.m., this afternoon. They report that he is missing his required medication which helps him regulate his delusions. Fitzgerald is described as a white male who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, gray sweatpants, black shoes, and a red stocking cap. DEPUTIES ASSIST LANE COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES WITH ANIMAL RESCUE, CITE OWNER

  Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On Friday, Deputies responded with Lane County Animal Services to an address in the 34400 block of Highway 58.  LCAS had received complaints of malnourished animals from area residents.  The owner of the animals, Raina McKenzie Ott, was known to be on probation from a 2020 conviction for 11 counts of Animal Neglect in the Second Degree in which she was sentenced to 60 months of probation.  While LCAS typically does initial contact on animal neglect cases, LCSO assisted due to the likely probation violation and criminal neglect of the animals.   Deputies contacted Ott at the residence and discovered several malnourished cows and emaciated companion animals living in deplorable conditions.  Several decomposing cow carcasses were also found.  LCAS rehoused the companion animals and is working with Ott to remove the remaining cows from the property.  Possession of the cows and companion animals was in violation of her probation as well.   Ott was cited in li

Man arrested after stealing truck, fleeing police, ramming police vehicle

Eugene Police Department   At 6:19 a.m. on February 28, Eugene Police was dispatched to a call about a Chevrolet Silverado that had just been stolen from a man’s driveway in the 300 block of Wilkie Street.  An officer spotted the stolen truck going eastbound on W. 7th Avenue near Van Buren Street and then several EPD officers responded to the area. The officer who had spotted the vehicle initiated a traffic stop but the driver, later identified as Freddie Lee Davis, age 44, accelerated away. There was a short pursuit, and officers attempted to forcibly stop the truck. Davis was able to evade this and then rammed the officer’s vehicle. The truck became inoperable, and Davis was safely taken into custody. David was transported to Lane County Jail and lodged on charges including Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, as well as two warrants. LANE COUNTY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO 20-YEAR SENTENCE FOR IDAHO MAN

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office In late 2017, a ranger with the Bureau of Land Management contacted a teenage juvenile at an illegal camp near Sharps Creek, Cottage Grove. The juvenile told the ranger she had been living there with an adult male for months.  The camp was in disarray. Concerned for her well-being, the ranger contacted the Department of Human Services. DHS had an open case involving the juvenile. She was taken into DHS custody and placed with her mother. Due to the condition of the campsite, the adult male, Lucas Anthony Lloyd, was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail for Littering within 100 Yards of a Waterway.   Detectives with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office began investigating. The juvenile was interviewed by the Kids FIRST Children’s Advocacy Center. Although she appeared uncomfortable and tested positive for methamphetamine, she did not disclose any abuse. Two years later, in 2019, she opened up to a counselor and disclosed that Lloyd had sexually abused her

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY ON MULTIPLE MEASURE 11 SEX CRIMES

Albany Police Today, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 11:23 am Albany Fire Department notified Albany Police they were responding to a residence in the 1800 block of SW 16th Ave for a trauma injury to the leg that was a result of an assault. Officers arrived and determined the suspect had attempted to sexually assault a female at the location and fled on foot approximately 20 minutes prior to the 911 call. Albany Fire Personnel transported her to a local area hospital for further treatment of her injuries.  Officers and Detectives began an immediate search of the area for the suspect, who was identified by the victim as Brandon Taylor Beckner, age 37 of Albany.     Officers continued to search the area and alerted the community via Nixle text alerts and social media messages. MALE SUBJECT ARRESTED AFTER K-9 TRACK

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office On 2/26/2024 at approximately 9:20 pm, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to contact a subject driving a white Toyota 4Runner that had abruptly turned into the Deschutes National Forest from China Hat Rd. near mile post 2. The 4Runner stopped and the male driver immediately exited the vehicle and ran on foot westbound through the forest.  Deputies developed information that the male was Jonathan Hurlbut who was wanted in Deschutes County on a warrant for Theft in the Second Degree. The City of Bend Police Department advised they had probable cause to arrest Hurlbut for Theft in the Second Degree, and Oregon State Police advised they had probable cause to arrest him for Felony Eluding a Police Officer. SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR FELONY ELUDE - METHAMPHETAMINE AND A GUN LOCATED DURING INVESTIGATION

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On February 26, 2024, at approximately 2:50 a.m., a Washington County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a silver Honda Accord for a traffic violation near the city of Banks. After initiating a traffic stop on Highway 47, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as 24-year-old Savannah Salyers, failed to stop and continued driving. Deputies lost sight of the Honda but quickly located it parked near the 14800 block of NW Jackson School Road. Salyers was still in the vehicle and was arrested by deputies.  Deputies located approximately 10.5 grams of Methamphetamine, a black 9mm handgun, and other drug paraphernalia. Salyers did not possess a concealed handgun license. Salyers was arrested and lodged at the Washington County Jail for felony elude, unlawful possession of a firearm, and drug charges.  While at the jail, deputies discovered an additional 26 grams of methamphetamine hidden in one of Salyers' undergarments. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  On Monday, February 26, 2024, the Sheriff's Office was notified by Umpqua Community College staff of a security threat to the campus. In an effort to prioritize the safety of students, staff and faculty, the College elected to cancel all classes, events, and activities until further notice.  The Sheriff's Office is working in partnership with the College regarding the threat. There is an increased law enforcement presence on the campus today.  “The Sheriff's Office takes seriously any threat directed toward the safety of our schools, whether kindergarten or higher education institutions," Sheriff Hanlin said. “The Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the FBI, has determined the source of the email originated from outside the country. At this time the threatening email is not considered credible, and there is no immediate threat to the college.” The specifics of the security threat will not be released by the Sheriff

Sheriff’s Deputies Searching for Missing and Endangered 75-year-old Man from Rural Central Point

Jackson County Sheriff's Office UPDATE 2:40 pm: Mike was found by California Highway Patrol on Highway 139 north of Canby, Calif. Thank you to all who called in sightings and helped search. CENTRAL POINT, Ore- Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies and Search and Rescue (SAR) are searching for a 75 year old man missing from rural Central Point. The man, Robert Michael Lewis, went missing early this morning from his residence in the 6900 block of Old Stage Road. The man goes by the name “Mike” and may be suffering from confusion due to medical issues. He is described as a white male, aged 75, 5’8” tall, weighing 165 lbs. Mike has no cell phone with him and was last seen driving a newer model silver Nissan Rogue with temporary plates. SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEEKS ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING SUSPECT

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, December 26, 2023, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to the discovery of a hidden recording device in a fitting room at a clothing store. The device was seized, and the Washington County Digital Forensic Lab (DFL) was enlisted to help identify the individual responsible for its placement. By February 6, 2024, the DFL had analyzed the device and returned it to detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit, who discovered a series of photos on the device that featured the potential suspect. No other images or videos of potential victims were found on the device. Efforts to identify the suspect were expanded to include local police agencies, leading to a breakthrough when the Scappoose Police Department reported an incident involving the same individual.
