MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT WITH A FRYING PAN

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 01/30/2023 at approximately 7:33pm, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls about a dispute in the 11700blk of Maple Ave. in Mapleton.  One caller mentioned they overheard what sounded like gunshots during the dispute.  Deputies arrived and contacted 23-year-old Steen Joseph Hardt.  Hardt stated he had been in a dispute with his father and struck him in the head with a frying pan and replica firearm.  Deputies found a man inside the residence with a laceration on his head consistent with being struck by an object.  Deputies located evidence of the assault including a broken cast-iron frying pan and broken replica firearm. There was no evidence of a firearm being discharged during the dispute.  The victim was transported to an area hospital.  Hardt was taken into custody and lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges including Assault in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.    Click Here To Download Our App

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO TWO ARRESTED

Coos County Sheriff's Office On January 28 th 2023 at 10:45 p.m. Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy Hannah Francis was dispatched to 95052 Stevens Lane, Coos Bay, Oregon to a report of a stolen vehicle, (Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.)  During the course of an investigation it was learned, Ryan Langenberg 29 years of age of Coos Bay had stolen the car from the victim’s carport without permission.  After taking the report the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center entered the vehicle  as stolen.  As Deputy Francis left the residence after taking the report she observed the stolen vehicle driving east bound on Coos Sumner Lane. Deputy Francis conducted a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle on Coos Sumner near Wriston Springs Road.  During the traffic stop, the driver Ryan M. Lanenberg and passenger, Dominique M. Coos County Sheriff's Office Alicia has been located and re-united with family. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone for their help in locating her.  On January 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received information of a subject who was missing and last seen by family on January 27 th . The woman was identified as Alicia Mariah Tate 27 years of age, of Coos Bay.  Family members believe Alicia may have been with two men, with the possible names of Brandon Burman, and Mason Henderson. Family further believes Alicia or these men may be associated with a newer silver van.  Alicia is described as 5’08” 165 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. SNOWMOBILE CRASH ON CASCADE LAKES HIGHWAY SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On 01/29/23, at approximately 7:30 pm, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a snowmobile and a tracked snow vehicle on Cascade Lakes Highway at mile post 30. Initial reports indicated the snowmobile rider struck a stationary Elk Lake Lodge tracked vehicle at a high rate of speed throwing him from the snowmobile almost 100 feet. The driver of the tracked vehicle, an Elk Lake Lodge employee, was inside the vehicle at the time of the collision and was not injured. As a result of the collision, the snowmobile caught fire and was completely consumed. Employees from the Elk Lake Lodge learned of the crash and responded to the area to assist with additional cold weather gear for the snowmobile rider and driver of the tracked vehicle. Oregon City Police Dept. Update:  8:00pm -  Mr. Pense-Wollam was located by law enforcement and he is safe. Sheriff's Office On 01/28/2023 at 11:29am, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office received the report of a robbery that occurred at a business in the 79000blk of Hwy. 99 in Saginaw.  The female suspect departed southbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and blue cash drop bag.  The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white tennis shoes, and a white facemask with a printed pattern on it.  The female was described as being in her twenties or thirties with a thin build and standing approximately 5’3”.  Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office at 541-682-4150 opt. 1. OSP TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST AND DRUG SEIZURE -- KLAMATH COUNTY

Oregon State Police On January 18, 2023, around 11:26 a.m., an Oregon State Police Senior Trooper stopped an SUV for a lane usage violation on Highway 97, milepost 276, near Klamath Falls. During the traffic stop, the Sr. Trooper noticed signs of criminal activity, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  During the search of the vehicle, the Sr. Trooper located approximately 10 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 3 pounds of suspected heroin, and 1.4 pounds of suspected counterfeit pills containing fentanyl- all concealed within the vehicle.  The driver was identified as Sergio Luis Salazar-Mercado (30) of Wapato, Washington.  Salazar-Mercado was taken into custody and lodged in the Klamath County Jail. OSP Troopers were assisted during the investigation by Detectives from the Basin Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (BINET) and Detectives from the OSP-Criminal Investigations Division-Drug Enforcement Section (Domestic Highway Enforcement Initiative).  The Oregon State Police-

Gary Wilson left his care home in the 400 block of SE Hale Dr. around 6:00 this morning to go for a walk and has not returned. He is familiar with how to use TriMet. Multnomah County Search and Rescue is assisting with finding Gary. Gary is described as a White male who is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 240 pounds. Grants Pass Police Department UPDATE - 1/27/2023 - Grants Pass Police Offer Reward for Information Leading to Arrest and Capture of Attempted Murder Suspect Grants Pass, Ore. – Yesterday evening, the Grants Pass Police Department, with the assistance of Oregon State Police SWAT, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, and Federal partners, served a search warrant in the 1300 block of Sunny Valley Loop in Wolf Creek in an effort to arrest Benjamin Obadiah Foster for Attempted Murder. Following a lengthy manhunt, Foster evaded capture and likely received assistance in fleeing the area. Numerous items of evidence, including Foster’s 2008 Nissan Sentra, were seized during the search. During the search, investigators arrested 68-year-old Tina Marie Jones of Wolf Creek for Hindering Prosecution. She was lodged at the Josephine County Jail. Portland Police Bureau A former Coach at David Douglas High School has been arrested for his contact with two Juveniles. On December 18, 2022, East Precinct officers responded to a call during which they were made aware of several disclosures of inappropriate contacts between an employee of David Douglas High School and two juvenile victims. Upon receiving this information, officers immediately notified Portland's Sex Crimes Unit (SCU) and contacted David Douglass administration. After an exhaustive investigation by detectives with the Sex Crimes Unit, the case was presented to a grand jury. The grand jury decided the evidence supported an indictment of 26-year-old Davonte Carter for the crimes of Sex Abuse in the Second Degree (six counts), Sex Abuse in the Third Degree (four counts), Sodomy in the Third Degree (seven counts), Luring a Minor and Distribution of a Controlled Substance to a Minor (marijuana). Sheriff's Office At shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team served a search warrant on S 7th Street near Greenwood Dr in Jefferson. The search warrant was in connection with an ongoing aggravated animal abuse investigation. In July of 2023, deputies assigned to the City of Jefferson were called after a resident allegedly shot and killed their neighbor’s dog. Deputies identified the involved person as Jeremy Cornwell (43) of Jefferson. Since July, Cornwell’s family members have shared concerns for their safety due to his escalating behavior and his access to numerous firearms and other weapons. This morning after assisting family members to safety from inside the residence, negotiators with the Sheriff’s Office began extensive efforts to get Cornwell to safely surrender. VICTIM IN CRITICAL CONDITION AS GRANTS PASS POLICE SEARCH FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER SUSPECT

Grants Pass Police Department Grants Pass, Ore. – On Tuesday at 6:52 PM, Grants Pass Police Officers responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Shane Way regarding an assault. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim who had been bound and severely beaten into unconsciousness. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived but was positively identified as Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36 years old, of Wolf Creek. Foster was last known to be driving a dark blue 2008 Nissan Sentra 4-door with Oregon license 407EDX. Foster is known to be armed and should be considered extremely dangerous. Foster is wanted by the police for Kidnapping, Attempted Murder, and Assault. ALBANY POLICE DEPARTMENT OFFICER WOUNDED IN SHOOTING

Benton Co. Sheriff's Office CORVALLIS, Ore.  –  On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Alex Cameron Greig, 19, of Albany reported he had physically assaulted his girlfriend. Officers from the Albany Police Department (APD) responded to the residence on Valley View Drive NW in Albany. Upon arrival, Officers  reported shots fired from  inside the residence. One APD Officer was injured by flying glass and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.  Greig surrendered to Officers on scene and was taken into custody without further incident.  “We are very fortunate that no police officers were seriously injured and the suspect is in custody. HONDURAN MAN ARRESTED IN PORTLAND TRAFFICKING RAINBOW FENTANYL AND FIREARMS CHARGED IN FEDERAL COURT

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—A Honduran man residing in Portland is facing federal charges after he was arrested moving two kilograms of rainbow-colored fentanyl and several firearms between two Portland-area motels. Jose Isidro Zuniga Torres, 47, has been charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy to possess and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl. According to court documents, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Tigard Police Department are engaged in an ongoing investigation into the suspected trafficking of illegal narcotics from Mexico for distribution and sale in Oregon and Washington state. Two Arrested in Connection With Bastendorf Beach Thefts

Coos County Sheriff's Office   On January 24, 2023, at about 8:46 a.m. Bandon Police Officer Emma Owens observed a gray BMW SUV type vehicle, fail to obey a traffic control device and initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Kyle Vanalstine 28 years of age, and Rebeca Aseere 21 years of age. Deputy Michael Smith from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office advised Officer Owens he had probable cause for both Kyle and Rebeca’s arrest on the charges of Forgery I, Theft I and Criminal Conspiracy to commit a Felony. An ongoing investigation revealed Kyle and Rebeca had fraudulently chased checks which had been stolen out of a purse on January 11th 2023 at Bastendorf Beach, in Coos Bay, Oregon. It was discovered by Deputy Smith during his investigation, Kyle had attempted to deposit two of the stolen checks into a Wells Fargo Bank Account, and Rebeca had cashed checks in a Felony amount (Over $1,000) near the City of Powers, Oregon. Bend man arrested after brandishing firearm at multiple people

Bend Police Dept.   At approximately 1:15 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, Bend Police were called to 7-Eleven on NW Galveston Avenue for a report of a person who had brandished a firearm at employees, then left in a white Mercedes Benz sedan.  About 45 minutes later, a Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on suspicion of DUII. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Bend resident Caleb Joseph Cegers, was arrested by Bend Police and around 4 a.m. was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail on charges of DUII – Alcohol, Minor in Possession – Alcohol, and Driving While Suspended.  About eight hours later, at 12:03 p.m., Bend Police were dispatched to a report that the driver of a white Mercedes Benz sedan, traveling southbound on Third Street, had brandished a handgun at a pedestrian, aiming and cocking it. U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—Dennis “Denny” Doyle, the former mayor of Beaverton, Oregon, was sentenced to federal prison today for illegally possessing child pornography. Doyle, 74, a Beaverton resident, was sentenced to six months in federal prison and five years’ supervised release. Doyle was also ordered to pay $22,000 in restitution to his victims. According to court documents, in late January 2022, the Beaverton Police Department was notified by a local business that a USB thumb drive containing possible child pornography had been found. The business provided the thumb drive to law enforcement, and it was determined that did indeed contain child pornography. Additionally, the drive contained personal photographs that appeared to belong to Doyle. Law enforcement also determined the images of child pornography were downloaded onto the thumb drive between November 2014 and December 2015, while Doyle was serving as the Beaverton mayor. DECEASED PERSON LOCATED IN THE WILLAMETTE RIVER DOWNSTREAM FROM THE FERRY STREET BRIDGE

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Last night deputies and Lane County Sheriff Search and Rescue personnel responded to the Willamette River near Ferry Street Bridge to assist in the search of a person in the water. Bystanders said that a man reportedly went underwater and did not resurface.  Rescuers extensively searched the area but were unable to find the man.  Sheriff Search and Rescue personnel returned to the area this morning and resumed the search.  The body of a deceased male was found underwater by divers shortly after 1:00pm.  The identity of the involved has not yet been determined.  For information regarding the investigation, contact the Eugene Police Department.  Questions related to LCSO Search and Rescue can be directed to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
