VANCOUVER MAN SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—A Vancouver, Washington man was sentenced to federal prison today for facilitating and benefitting from the sex trafficking of multiple children. Keonte Desmond Scott, 24, was sentenced to 97 months in federal prison and five years’ supervised release. According to court documents and trial testimony, in 2016, after he was released from prison, Scott met and befriended Johnl Jackson, 34, also of Vancouver. Jackson sold Scott cocaine and began coaching him in commercial sex trafficking. In late 2016, Scott met and began a relationship with another Vancouver resident, Diana Petrovic, 23. Jackson helped Scott traffic Petrovic and they began using her to recruit and traffic other minor females. By early 2019, several minors reported to law enforcement that they had been trafficked by Scott and Petrovic. During the ensuing investigation, authorities learned of two teen girls, then 14- and 15-years-old, respectively, who together

Airplane Crashes into the Rogue River

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at approximately 9:30 AM, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an airplane that crashed into the Rogue River near Ennis Riffle.  Deputies responded as well as personnel from Rural Metro Fire Department. Upon arrival, it was learned that the pilot and passenger in the aircraft were able to exit the aircraft without injury.  A local rafting outfitter, OARS, was performing water rescue training in the area and were able to pick up the pilot and passenger who were across the river from Galice Road. Upon speaking to the pilot, Deputies learned that engine failure occurred around Hellgate Canyon and the plane glided to smooth waters above Ennis Riffle where a safe water landing was executed.  No injuries were noted to the pilot or the passenger.  The FAA and NTSB have been contacted for follow up investigation in this matter.

Grants Pass Police Department The Grants Pass Police are investigating a missing person case for 23 year old Megan Driggers. Megan was last seen by her family on 5/28/22 at home in the SW area of Grants Pass. Megan is a white female, 5'5'', 160 lbs, brown hair, green/blue eyes, last seen wearing ripped jeans and a black and white shirt.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Megan can contact GPPD at 541-450-6260, reference case #22-23637.

BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

Grants Pass Police Department On 05-28-2022, at approximately 1:16 pm, the suspect in the bank robbery which occurred on 5-23-2022 at First Interstate Bank on Union Avenue was arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail.   After the press release was sent out, numerous tips about the identity of the suspect were received.  Detectives continued to follow up leads and utilized numerous video and photos to positively identify the suspect as Donald Denney.  The Jackson County Sheriff's Office was in the process of looking for Denney to assist with the case when Denney called and surrendered. Once Denney was detained, he was turned over to Grants Pass PD officers and transported back to Josephine County.  Denney was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on the listed charges.  The department would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying the suspect in this case and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office for assisting with locating him and ultimately his surrende

LEBANON FIRE DISTRICT RESPONDS TO SECOND STRUCTURE FIRE IN TWO DAYS

Lebanon Fire District style="font-family: sans-serif;">The Lebanon Fire District responded to its second outbuilding fire in the last two days this afternoon. A forty by one hundred foot storage building caught fire at the corner of Lacomb Drive and Totem Pole Road. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The building was fully involved when the first units arrived.  The fire required sixteen career and volunteer personnel, as well as multiple apparatus to extinguish. Due to the intensity of the fire and the size of the building. a rural water supply operation had to be established with water tenders making multiple trips to a water source to bring the blaze under control. Approximately thirty thousands gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire. Due to the utilization of nearly all of its on duty personnel, LFD requested units from Albany Fire to cover their district for additional calls while the fire was being extinguished.
