DRUGS AND WEAPONS LOCATED DURING SEARCH WARRANT. SUSPECT OUTSTANDING

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office Around 6:30 p.m., members of the  Tactical Negotiations Team  (TNT) concluded their search of the property located at 55920 NW Wilson River Hwy. in Gales Creek. Damion Clowdus was not located during the search of the property and is still wanted in connection with the hit and run crash that occurred earlier in the morning. During the search for Clowdus, members of TNT located eight people, and two of the individuals, 62-year-old  Carolyn Allen  and 21-year-old  Kyler Pullins , had outstanding warrants. They were both lodged in the Washington County Jail earlier tonight. After TNT concluded their search, investigators searched the property for additional evidence related to narcotics distribution and unlawful possession of a firearm.  If you have information on the location of Clowdus, please call non-emergency dispatch at (503) 629-0111.

SHERIFF HANLIN ANNOUNCES OFF-DUTY DEATH OF ACTIVE DUTY DEPUTY

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.  – Sheriff John Hanlin is saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Deputy Matthew Harmon. Deputy Harmon passed away at home on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, following a sudden cardiac medical event while off-duty. Deputy Harmon began serving with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on March 14, 2003 as a Reserve Deputy. In April of 2010, he accepted a full-time job offer in the Corrections Division where he worked until his passing. During his tenure as a Corrections Deputy, Harmon served as the Work Crew Supervisor from 2017-2019. “Matt was a valued and dedicated deputy who served with honor and distinction. RYAN LEE GEIGER SENTENCED TO 70 MONTHS IN PRISON IN SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On October 28, 2021, Ryan Lee Geiger pleaded guilty to using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and first-degree attempted sex abuse. Deputy District Attorney Sara Loebner prosecuted the defendant before Washington County Circuit Court Judge Erik Buchér. In October of 2020, one of Mr. Geiger’s two teenaged victims made a disclosure of sexual abuse to a mandatory reporter. She later gave additional information about the abuse to experts at the Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center in Cowlitz County, Washington. She explained to investigators how the defendant abused her at his home in Forest Grove, Oregon while she was a minor.  During the course of the investigation, detectives also learned of a second victim who reported similar abuse by the defendant. In this instance, the defendant requested the victim, who was a minor at the time, send him sexually explicit photos which he later shared with another adult

LINN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES FATAL CRASH ON KNOX BUTTE

Linn County Sheriff's Office Linn County Undersheriff Michelle Duncan reports on October 22 at 8:14 p.m., deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on Knox Butte Road near Albany. Dispatch reported a single vehicle crashed into the ditch and one person pinned in the car. Deputies responded to the scene and learned Eric Valencia, 35, of Albany was driving eastbound on Knox Butte when he lost control of his vehicle near Harber Road. The 2018 Kia left the roadway and struck concrete blocks near a driveway causing significant damage. The passenger, Benjamin Garcia Mendoza, 23, of Albany was found deceased in the vehicle. Valencia received non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Salem Hospital for treatment.  Eric Valencia was contacted in Corvallis on October 27, 2021 after being released from the hospital.  He was arrested and brought to the Linn County Jail for the charges of Manslaughter in the First Degree, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, and DUII.

This citizen located a female with blood and bruising on her face. Deputies responded to the scene and located a 43 year old female from North Bend. She had been badly beaten and bludgeoned by her ex-boyfriend, 46 year old Robert Elliott Danford of North Bend. This assault occurred after Robert kidnapped the victim shortly following her shift at the North Bend 7-11.   Lane Co. Sheriff's Office *UPDATE* 10/27/21   Searchers with the Lane County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team have located the body of missing 59 year old Guy Vernon Knight.  Knight was reported missing by family members after he was last seen at his residence in Dallas, OR on October 15 th , 2021.     Knight’s vehicle was located in the parking lot of the South Jetty staging area south of Florence last week.  His body was located today by drone in a nearby wilderness area away from the main roadway.     The investigation into his death continues however at this point there are no indications that Knight was the victim of a crime or other foul play.

MANUFACTURED HOME BURNS IN SHADOW RANCH MOBILE PARK

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2 At 10:25 a.m. on October 27, firefighters with Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and Roseburg Fire Department responded to 822 Shadow Ranch Ln. for a reported home on fire.  Several callers to 911 reported a home on fire where two elderly people live. Initial reports were it was unknown if they were inside or not.   A Fire District No. 2 crew arrived to find a double wide manufactured home with heavy fire and smoke showing through the roof.  The initial crews made an aggressive interior attack and primary search of the home looking for any victims.  Nobody was located inside the home and crews worked to fully extinguish the fire.  Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other nearby homes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Douglas County Fire District No. 2 and Roseburg Fire Department responded to the incident with 19 firefighters including four fire engines, two ambulances, and three command vehicles.

Motor Vehicle Crash @ Hazel St. and N. 6th St.

Central Point Police Department On 10/26/21, at approximately 1:10pm, Central Point Police Officers responded to the intersection of Hazel and North 6th Streets for an injury motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle that crashed into a tree.  Six high school-age occupants were treated on scene by Fire District #3 and Mercy Flights paramedics before being transported to area hospitals for further medical evaluation and treatment.  At the time of this press release, one occupant was reported to be in critical condition.   The incident is currently under investigation to determine contributing factors to the crash.  The crash scene investigation is being conducted by The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) team. ASSAULT ON A PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER - LCSO CASE #21-6037

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 10/25/21 at about 11:00am, a Lane County Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling the area of the Whitely Boat Landing near River Rd. observed a black Nissan Altima that had been previously reported as stolen. The vehicle was parked and a male, identified as 36 year old Nicholas Christopher Jenkins, was standing next to it. The deputy recognized Jenkins from previous law enforcement contacts. Deputies were able to establish reasonable suspicion that Jenkins was involved with the stolen vehicle and made contact with him. As they attempted to detain him, Jenkins punched one of the deputies in the face, striking the deputy near his eye. Deputies were able to effectively deploy a Taser on Jenkins and get him into custody. Methamphetamine paraphernalia was located in Jenkins’ pocket. MISSING ENDANGERED ADULT

Grants Pass Police Department On October 25, 2021, at about 11:30 PM, Gianna Carpenedo (30 YOA) was seen on Redwood Avenue near Willow Lane in Grants Pass on foot. Carpenedo has medical issues and is on medication for those medical needs.  We are asking the public for help locating her. Carpenedo is a white female, five foot one, 200 pounds, with matted, shoulder-length brown hair and light brown eyes.  She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with “FAITH” on the front, blue jeans and tennis shoes.  She was carrying a Dr. Pepper branded acoustic guitar.  She may be frequenting parks. Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Authorities are requesting the public's assistance in a missing person investigation.   Guy Vernon Knight was last seen outside of Dallas, Oregon on the morning of October 15th, 2021 driving his Jeep Wrangler (pictured).    On October 18th, 2021 Mr. Knight’s Jeep was located unoccupied in the parking lot of the South Jetty staging area south of Florence.  This is within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.  Lane County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue teams searched the area  but Mr. Knight was not located.   Mr. Knight is diabetic and has some underlying heart conditions which require medications. Mr. Knight may be found in medical need.   His vehicle is a two door yellow Jeep Wrangler.  It is lifted with oversized tires, a soft top and a portion of the hood is black.      Investigators are looking for any information leading to Mr. Knight’s whereabouts. K9 ZORO TRACKS DOWN FLEEING SUSPECT

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office RIDDLE, Ore.  - A Riddle man is in custody after he attempted to elude police and was tracked down by K9 Zoro. On Friday, October 22, 2021, shortly after 10:30 pm, a Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon in the 1100 block of Glenbrook Loop Road in Riddle for traffic violations. The driver failed to stop and attempted to get away from the deputy. The driver of the vehicle continued to the 4000-block of Glenbrook Loop before making a U-turn. The male driver continued to the 3500-block of Glenbrook Loop when he stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. A female passenger then took control of the vehicle and continued to attempt to elude law enforcement. The female, later identified as 34-year-old Sierra Marie Thompson of Riddle, was eventually stopped by a Myrtle Creek Officer and taken into custody. Masked Suspect Arrested Following Assault on Candlelight Drive

Eugene Police Department   On October 22 at 5:41 p.m., an officer responded to an assault on the 800 block of Candlelight Drive, and found an injured man. Eugene Springfield Fire EMS was called out and transported the 45-year-old male victim for treatment of a non-life threatening stab wound.   An initial investigation found that a man wearing a Halloween mask followed a woman to her residence. The man was unknown to the woman and after she had parked her vehicle and had the door propped open to get out, the 31-year-old male suspect, who had parked several doors down, attacked her and was attempting to pull her into her vehicle.   The female victim struggled to fight off the suspect and was ultimately helped by an alert male, who was babysitting inside the residence at the location and came out to intervene. DETECTIVES SEEKING TIPS AFTER BODY FOUND IN RURAL AREA

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Sunday, October 17, 2021, just before 6 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a body found in the area of NW Sellers Rd. and NW Linklater Rd., about five miles north of Banks. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and found evidence leading them to believe the death occurred at least two weeks prior and was suspicious. Initially, detectives were not able to identify the person. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Monday morning, and those results are not being released while the investigation continues.  On Wednesday, the Oregon State Crime Lab identified the deceased as 42-year-old Jessica Elizabeth Hart, and the family was notified the same day. Hart was White, about 5’8” tall, and weighed about 210 pounds. Hart was wearing a camouflage hat, sweater, and stretch pants as well as black Sketchers tennis shoes.
