EASTERN OREGON DRUG DEALER SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON

U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon PORTLAND, Ore.—An eastern Oregon drug dealer identified by law enforcement as part of an investigation into a fatal overdose on the Umatilla Indian Reservation was sentenced to federal prison today, announced the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon. Ulises Echevarria-Molina, 40, of Pendleton, Oregon, was sentenced to 75 months in federal prison and five years’ supervised release. According to court documents, on May 15, 2021, officers from the Umatilla Tribal Police Department responded to a suspected fatal drug overdose at the Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton and located several counterfeit Oxycodone pills believed to contain fentanyl near the deceased victim. Toxicology reports later confirmed the victim had consumed fentanyl and cocaine prior to their death.  Further investigation revealed that the overdose victim likely obtained the fentanyl pills from a family member’s supply and the family member had recently purchased fe

FATAL CRASH -- HIGHWAY 42 -- DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. 31 Jan. 2023  – On Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at 1:22 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 42 near milepost 75 in Douglas County.  The preliminary investigation indicated a Freightliner tanker truck was pulling into the center turn lane to merge onto Hwy. 42 to travel eastbound. A Jeep Liberty, operated by Bronwyn Gnagy (19) of Winston, was traveling eastbound and abruptly stopped in the left lane as the tanker merged into the center turn lane. A bunked Mack log truck, operated by Christopher P. Morgan (28) of Roseburg, was traveling behind the Jeep Liberty. The log truck operator braked; however, was unable to stop in time and struck the Jeep Liberty from behind. The Jeep Liberty sustained heavy rear end damage.  Two passengers in the Jeep Liberty, Tabitha M. Medford Police Investigating Armed Robbery on Stewart Avenue

Medford Police Dept.   At about 1:58 AM on Wednesday, January 31, the Medford Police Department responded to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Time Out Sports Bar in the 1200-block of Stewart Ave. Upon our arrival, the suspect had fled on foot. Officers learned that an unknown subject displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, who was in the process of closing the business for the night. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  Officers used a police K9 to track the suspect through nearby neighborhoods but were unable to locate them. We are releasing a photo from the businesses video surveillance system in hopes that a member of the public may have some information about the suspect’s identity. Please keep in mind that colors, height, and weight may be distorted in these photos. We do believe the suspect to be a younger white male of slim build. The suspect is wearing all dark clothing, a hood, gloves and a black and white face mask.

FATAL CRASH -- HWY 99W -- LANE COUNTY

  Oregon State Police On Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at 3:49 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 99W, near milepost 109, in Lane County.     The preliminary investigation indicated a northbound Mitsubishi Montero, operated by Kimberly Michelle Pratt (33) of Eugene, left the roadway on the west side of the highway for unknown reasons. The vehicle rolled onto its top and stopped off the roadway in a residential driveway.    The operator (Pratt) was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was declared deceased at the scene. Pratt was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash.    No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash.    OSP was assisted by Junction City Police Department, Junction City Fire and Rescue, Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office, San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Office (CA), and the Oregon Department of Transportation.                                        Click Here To Download Our App

GRESHAM POLICE K9 RECON RETIRES/NEW K9 IN TRAINING

Gresham Police Dept On Monday, Jan. 29, one of Gresham Police Department’s (GPD) longest serving K9s, Recon, formally retired. Recon began his career in Gresham in spring 2015 and worked his last shift in fall 2023. He worked with two handlers during his tenure, first with Officer Jason Justus and later with Officer Jarred Hansen. In 2017 he became a dual-purpose canine, utilized in both patrol operations and narcotics detection. Alongside his handlers, Recon worked to protect and serve his community and the surrounding area, capturing suspects and helping ensure community safety.  Over the course of his career, Recon assisted with more than 140 captures and more than 500 surrenders. Recon can look forward to a well-earned retirement and will be staying in the Gresham Police Department family. REDMOND POLICE AND CERT RECOVER $50,000 IN STOLEN ITEMS - TWO SUBJECTS ARRESTED

Redmond Police Dept. Redmond, Oregon  – The Redmond Police Department (RPD) executed a search warrant on a camp located on BLM land east of the city today. Following the completion of an investigation which began on January 16, officers, with the assistance of the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team (CERT) executed the warrant at 8:00 a.m. 50-year-old Ryan Pooschke and 26-year-old Breann Sullens were taken into custody and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on multiple charges to include; Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated First Degree Theft, First Degree Criminal Mischief, Second-Degree Criminal Trespass, Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Probation Violation. CERT was activated based on the criminal history of Mr. Pooschke along with information he may be in possession of a firearm. SHOOTING IN STORE PARKING LOT LEAVES THREE INJURED

Salem Police Department The three people injured in yesterday’s shooting incident have been identified.  The woman, 30-year-old Julia Thea Dora Dorfler of Eugene, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and remains hospitalized. Two men, 30-year-old Jamie Eugene Thomason and 28-year-old Chance Taylor Brason Towlerton, both of Springfield, also sustained gunshot wounds. Thomason remains in the hospital, and Towlerton was treated and released. Detectives have arrested Robert Josh, Jr., age 62 of Springfield, for his suspected involvement in the shooting. Josh was lodged today at the  Marion County Jail  on the following  charges : Second-degree attempted murder First-degree assault Unlawful use of a weapon, firearm Andrew William Beebe, age 28 of Eugene, was also arrested on an outstanding parole violation warrant.  All individuals in this incident are known to one another.  Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no further information is being released at this time.

SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING SCUBA DIVER

Sheriff's Office WINCHESTER BAY, Ore.  - A Eugene man who went scuba diving in the Umpqua River near the mouth of the Pacific Ocean is considered missing after he did not surface.  On Sunday, January 29, 2024, shortly before 3:00 p.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call from a female reporting her friend, 47-year-old Jeffery Scott Harris of Eugene, missing. Harris had gone scuba diving in the Umpqua River near the mouth of the Pacific Ocean in Winchester Bay at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Harris, who had previous diving experience, had not returned prompting the call to emergency personnel.  The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, along with the United States Coast Guard (USCG), began a large-scale search for Harris. Two USCG Boats along with a helicopter searched the water. The Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue unit searched by land with K9 teams and ATVs until dark.  On Monday, searchers resumed their efforts by water and ground. Dive Rescue teams

SHOOTING IN N. PARK AVENUE AREA

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office Detectives from the Lane County Sheriff's Office arrested the second shooter in this case without incident, identified as Ty Houston Pflieger, 18, of Eugene.  He was lodged at the Lane County Jail on charges of Attempted Assault 1 and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, both Felonies.   Not only was this shooting brazen, involving a stranger in broad daylight, nearly 20 rounds were fired in a dense neighborhood.  The victim was nearly struck, and at least one round entered through a child’s bedroom window and struck an interior wall.  The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Oregon State Police and Eugene Police Department for their assistance, and especially the many residents who reached out with information to help us quickly solve this case.                         Click Here To Download Our App

SHOOTING IN STORE PARKING LOT LEAVES THREE INJURED

Salem Police Department Salem, Ore.  — At approximately 7:35 a.m. today, Salem Police officers responded to the call of a shooting in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer Store at 3740 Market ST NE.  Responding officers initially located two adult individuals, a woman and man, both age 30, with gunshot wounds in the store’s parking lot. Officers also located a second man, age 28, with a gunshot wound inside the Elmer’s Restaurant, east of the store’s parking lot.  All were transported to Salem Health with varying injuries. The woman and one of the men remain hospitalized. The names of the individuals are not being released at this time. Officers have accounted for all the individuals, and there is no continued threat to the public from this incident. No arrests have been made as the incident remains under active investigation, leaving a portion of the store’s parking lot still closed. The store is open for business. FATAL CRASH -- INTERSTATE 205 -- CLACKAMAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at 11:35 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a report of a deceased person in the roadway on I-205 southbound, near milepost 15, in Clackamas County.  The preliminary investigation indicated that a black vehicle struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene. The OSP Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash.  The pedestrian, Alejandro Rivera (48) of Happy Valley, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The far-left lane (A lane) of I-205 southbound was impacted for approximately four hours during the crash investigation.  The investigation is ongoing. OSP FISH AND WILDLIFE SEEKS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE -- TILLAMOOK COUNTY

Oregon State Police On, Nov. 17, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., troopers responded to a call of multiple deer shot and left on Stimson Timber Company Property in Tillamook County. This incident occurred in the watershed area where only youth are allowed to hunt.  The deceased animals were found in the following areas:  One doe and one fawn were shot and left to waste on the EB110 Road.  One doe was shot and left to waste near the half-mile marker of the Old Crow Mainline Road.  One fawn was shot and left to waste on the 4015 Road approximately 100 yards into a new clearcut area.  The investigation determined the deer were all shot around the same time frame – possibly during the last week or weekend of general deer season or the last weekend for youth hunters. Oregon State Police On January 16, 2024, a concerned citizen reported finding a dead cow moose in a private agricultural field located off East Island Road in Ontario.  This location is in the Beulah Wildlife Management Unit and is approximately one mile east of the city of Ontario.
