Oregon State Police   Missing Person: Fauna Roseanna Frey, Female, Caucasian, from Lane County, Oregon Missing since: June 29, 2020 NamUs: #MP73488 Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Case #: 202001267 Case Investigator: Sheriff Dave Daniel, Josephine County Sheriff’s Office   On June 29, 2020, Fauna Roseanna Frey was last seen on video at the Umpqua Bank in Rogue River, Oregon.   She was reportedly seen at Fred Meyer, Big 5 and the Super 8 Motel in Grants Pass that same day.  Fauna was mourning the sudden death of her brother.  Her father reported that she was headed to the Weasku Inn in Grants Pass, where she had a reservation.  She never arrived.    Fauna is 5’6” and weighs 135-150 pounds.  She has blue eyes and blonde hair, and she is currently 47 years old.  Fauna was last seen wearing a pink or purple zip-up lightweight jacket, cotton capri black leggings, light or white colored shirt, and light-colored sneakers.  She has a tattoo on her lower back, possibly of a butterfly.   The b

Douglas Forest Protection Association Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) has initiated an aggressive attack on an estimated 3–5-acre wildland fire, located about 7 miles north of Glendale, OR, near Martin Creek Road. Current resources include 3- helicopters, 1-fixed wing air attack, 4 engines, 1 dozer, and a 5- person crew with more on order.  Helicopter bucket drops are making sufficient progress knocking the fire down. Crews will continue aggressive extended attack throughout tonight and tomorrow. Updates will be posted when more information becomes available.  At this time, the fire is not a threat to structures or homes and is located on private timberland.

Missing child alert -- Chloe Brinegar is missing and is believed to be in danger

Oregon Department of Human Services (Salem) – The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), Child Welfare Division, asks the public to help find Chloe Brinegar, aged 15, who uses she/they pronouns, and is a child in foster care who went missing from Cottage Grove, Oregon on Aug. 9. Chloe is believed to be in danger. ODHS asks the public for help in the effort to find Chloe and to contact 911 or local law enforcement if they believe they see them. Oregon State Police On Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 5:55 PM, Klamath County 911 received a report a female had just been shot at 12009 Clovis Drive.  Klamath County Sheriff’s Deputies and Oregon State Police Troopers responded and located Shannon Renee Cobillas-Graham (41) and Robert Lee Cudo (63) deceased in the yard at 12009 Clovis Drive. The Klamath County Major Crime Team was activated to investigate the incident. Preliminary investigation indicates that Shannon Renee Cobillas-Graham was shot and killed by Robert Lee Cudo, then Mr. Cudo died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This investigation is ongoing.  The Klamath County Major Crime Team consists of the Oregon State Police, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, the Klamath Falls City Police Department, Klamath County Community Corrections, and the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office

MARIJUANA SEARCH WARRANT

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On August 30, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) executed four search warrants between the 5300 block and the 5700 block of Rockydale Road in Josephine County regarding illegal marijuana grow sites. The search warrants were executed with the assistance of Josephine County Code Enforcement, Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE), Oregon State Police Southwest Region Drug Enforcement Section Team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). During the execution of the warrants approximately 2 , 700 growing marijuana plants were seized and destroyed.  In addition to the growing marijuana plants, approximately 90,000 pounds of processed marijuana was located in multiple outbuildings. Two firearms and $3 , 500 were also seized.  The properties also had multiple electrical, water and solid waste code violations. FATAL HIT AND RUN CRASH ON INTERSTATE 5-SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE-MARION COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at approximately 12:42 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers responded to a report of a deceased individual located on southbound Interstate 5 near milepost 253.  Preliminary investigation revealed a pedestrian, identified as Cassandra Sullivan (35) of Salem, was struck by a vehicle. Sullivan sustained fatal injuries and was discovered by a litter crew on the shoulder of the road. It is believed that she was struck sometime during the evening of August 29 or the morning of August 30. OSP investigators are seeking public assistance in locating the vehicle that struck her. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a: Subaru: 2012-16 Impreza, 2013-2017 Cross Trek or a 2014-2018 Forrester  crystal white pearl in color damage to the right front was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 on evening of August 29 to morning of August 30, 2022. Sheriff's Office On August 29, 2022, the Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET) with the assistance of Josephine County Code Enforcement, executed a search warrant in the 17,000 block of Redwood Highway in Josephine County regarding an illegal marijuana grow site. During the execution of the warrant approximately 100 growing marijuana plants were seized and destroyed.  The property also had multiple electrical, water and solid waste code violations. These violations could result in the civil forfeiture of the property.  The primary suspect was not located during the execution of the warrant. The charges listed above are the charges the primary suspect will be facing based on the evidence located.  At the time of this press release the investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released.

Sheriff's Office RURAL EAGLE POINT, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) SWAT Team served a search warrant early yesterday morning at a residence on the 2000 block of Crowfoot Road outside of Eagle Point. JCSO Patrol utilized SWAT, K9, and the Crisis Negotiators Team (CNT) to serve the warrant due to firearm threats made by the suspect towards law enforcement.    The suspect, Scott David Binion, 58, of Eagle Point, was not on the property at the time the warrant was served but was later contacted and charged with felony fourth-degree assault domestic violence, harassment, unlawful possession of a machine gun, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful manufacturing of marijuana. OSP NORTHWEST REGION MARIJUANA TEAM AND THE CLACKAMAS COUNTY INTERAGENCY TASK FORCE SERVE WARRANTS AT TWO WOODBURN-AREA ILLEGAL MARIJUANA GROWS

Oregon State Police On Friday, August 26, 2022, Oregon State Police, Drug Enforcement Section, Northwest Region Marijuana Team (OSP NWR MJ) and the Clackamas County Interagency Task Force (CCITF) served search warrants at two nearby locations on South Schneider Road north of Woodburn, OR.  The investigation began after law enforcement was alerted by businesspersons working in the regulated cannabis industry. Investigators with NWR MJ and CCITF began following up on the information provided and found 57 greenhouses not registered to grow hemp or licensed to grow marijuana.  During the search warrant operation, investigators seized 11,179 marijuana plants for destruction and found a large amount of harvested marijuana in various stages of drying and trimming.  Also discovered during the operation were over two pounds of methamphetamine, 510 imported pills that were various Schedule II Controlled Substances, 15 firearms and one home-made firearm suppressor.  A significant number of stolen

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 42-DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On Monday, August 29, 2022 at approximately 9:37 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Hwy 42 near milepost 75.  Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Ford Escape, operated by Maranatha Singleton (23) of Roseburg, struck a pedestrian, Laura Pennington (59) of Roseburg, who was in the lane of travel.  Pennington sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Singleton was uninjured and cooperated with investigators at the scene.  Hwy 42 was closed for approximately 3 hours while Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene. OSP was assisted by Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Winston Police Department, Douglas County ADAPT Mobile Crisis Unit and ODOT.

Eugene Springfield Fire Eugene Springfield Fire crews quickly extinguished a brush fire along the railroad behind Sunbelt Rentals on West 2nd Ave. The fire was under control in approximately 25 minutes and there were no injuries reported. 

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING INVESTIGATION -- MCMINNVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Oregon State Police The investigation into an officer-involved shooting in McMinnville on August 23, 2022 continues, the involved officers are identified as Justin Schwartz and Cody Williams. Officer Schwartz began his law enforcement career with the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office in 2009 and has worked for the McMinnville Police Department since 2017. Officer Williams is a three-year veteran of McMinnville Police Department and was previously employed as a police officer in Kansas.  On August 23, 2022 at about 2:07 PM, Officers Schwartz and Williams responded to an apartment building on SW Barbara Street in McMinnville to investigate a report of a suicidal male at that location. The decedent, later identified as Laurence Dickson (69), had called to report that he felt like he was going to harm himself. Officers arrived and asked Dickson to exit the building to speak with them. When Dickson exited the building, he was carrying what officers believed to be a firearm; however further in

Shooting Incident at Safeway

Bend Police Dept. At approximately 7:04 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, Bend Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at the Forum Shopping Center in northeast Bend.  An initial investigation revealed that at least one shooter was at the shopping center firing shots in the parking lot. Police believe the shooter then entered the Safeway grocery store through the west entrance. One person was shot inside the entrance. That person was transported by medics and is deceased. Police believe the shooter continued firing through the store, shooting and killing an additional person.  Police found an additional person, believed to be the shooter, deceased in the store.  Initial reports indicate that Bend Police did not fire any shots at the scene. This is still an active investigation. Additional updates will be forthcoming.

Monday morning Firefighter Funeral Procession Street Closures

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office MEDFORD, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Medford Police Department, and Oregon State Police will escort the funeral procession on Monday morning for ODF contract firefighter Logan Taylor, 25, of Talent, Ore. Taylor died while fighting the Rum Creek Fire in Josephine County. The procession will begin at 9 a.m. and traffic will be affected along the route. The procession and temporary street closures will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Temporary Street Closures: - Barnett Rd. from Alba Dr. to Stewart Ave. - Stewart Ave. from Barnett Rd. to Riverside Ave. - Riverside Ave. from Stewart Ave. to Hwy 99 to Lowry Ln. If possible please avoid the area. If you would like to watch the procession, park safely in a designated parking spot along Highway 99 between Riverside and Lowry Lane. OREGON STATE FIRE MARSHAL MOBILIZES ADDITIONAL STRUCTURAL RESOURCES TO THE RUM CREEK FIRE

Oregon State Fire Marshal The Rum Creek Fire in Josephine County is currently threatening lives, structures, and property as fire behavior continued to increase over the last few days. Saturday, the Oregon Office of State Marshal (OSFM) mobilized five (5) task forces and Crew 30, all of whom have arrived safely on scene to engage in firefighting operations on Rum Creek. These resources were mobilized from within Oregon through the Oregon Fire Mutual Aid System (OFMAS). Additionally, one (1) strike team and three (3) task forces will be deployed from California through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) and the Office of Emergency Management. Those resources will join the existing local, state, and federal resources currently at the incident on Monday, August 29th. Pacific Northwest Interagency Team 13, Oregon Department of Forestry Team 1, and the Office of State Fire Marshal Blue Team are in unified command. ESCAPED HORSE CAUSES VEHICLE CRASH

Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore . - A horse escaped its pasture and ran into the path of an oncoming vehicle, causing a non-injury crash Saturday afternoon.  On Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 2:20 p.m., 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a vehicle vs. horse accident in the 6800-block of Lookingglass Road.  Deputies arrived on scene to find a 2016 Honda HRV which had been operated by 80-year-old Donna Morgan of Roseburg heavily damaged and a deceased 5-year-old stallion in the roadway. The investigation revealed three horses had escaped a nearby pasture and were observed running at a fast pace down a gravel driveway. One of the horses ran directly into the path of the oncoming Honda SUV, giving Morgan no time to react. Morgan was not injured and declined medical assistance. Roseburg Towing removed the totaled Honda from the scene.  The owner of the horses was notified and made arrangements to remove the horse from the roadway.  The Sheriff's Office was assisted by

DAYS CREEK MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH

Sheriff's Office DAYS CREEK, Ore.  - A Days Creek man was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash in the 7000-block of Days Creek Cutoff Road.  On Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 4:15 am, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a single vehicle crash in the 7000-block of Days Creek Cutoff Road. It was reported the occupant of the vehicle was trapped and was approximately 150 feet down an embankment.  The Sheriff's Office, along with fire and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. Deputies arrived and learned the driver, 57-year-old Steven Thomas Kremer of Days Creek, had crashed his vehicle at approximately 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022. Kremer's vehicle, a 2001 GMC Sonoma pickup, left the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled multiple times down the embankment. A neighbor heard Kremer yelling for help the next morning at the time of the 9-1-1 call.  Fire and EMS personnel had to extricate Kremer from the vehicle in order to get him

TASK FORCE OF DOUGLAS COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS DEPLOY TO ASSIST WITH RUM CREEK FIRE

Douglas Co. Fire Dist. No.2 Local firefighters were deployed this morning to Merlin, OR to help battle the growing Rum Creek Fire. The Douglas County task force was requested by the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s (OSFM) office under the Emergency Conflagration Act to assist with structural protection in the area. Thirteen firefighters, five fire apparatus, and various support vehicles were to arrive in Merlin by 1200 today. The task force, led by Douglas County Fire District No. 2 Battalion Chief Mark Hernandez is made up of personnel and equipment from Douglas County Fire District No. 2, Sutherlin Fire Department, North Douglas County Fire & EMS, and Riddle Fire Protection District. While it is not known how long they will be deployed, they may be utilized for up to 14 days to assist the OSFM as needed.

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 99E-LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police On August 27, 2022 at approximately 1:15AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 99E near milepost 32. Preliminary investigation revealed a southbound black Dodge Charger, operated by Randal Hahn Jr. (41) of Eugene, crossed over the northbound lane and exited the roadway striking a utility pole. Speed is being investigated as a contributing factor.  Hahn sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.  Hwy 99E was closed for approximately 4 hours while the scene was investigated.  OSP was assisted by Junction City Fire Department and ODOT. 

OAKLAND MAN STEALS CAR, ATTEMPTS TO ELUDE, CRASHES

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.   - An Oakland man has been arrested after stealing a vehicle and leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit.  On Friday, August 26, 2022, at approximately 6:30 am, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a vehicle that had just been stolen from the S-Mart (8843 Old Highway 99N in Wilbur) while the owner was inside of the store. The vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Scion, was observed leaving westbound on Oak Hill Road.  Law enforcement officers began combing the area in an attempt to locate the stolen vehicle. At approximately 7:22 am, a deputy spotted the vehicle traveling on Highway 38 near milepost 5 and initiated a traffic stop. The driver failed to pull over and accelerated in an attempt to elude.  Another deputy was able to successfully deploy spike strips on the fleeing vehicle, causing at least one of the tires to deflate.  The driver continued northbound onto Highway 101, still attempting to elude law enforcement for a short distance befo

FATAL CRASH ON HWY 42-DOUGLAS COUNTY

Oregon State Police On August 26, 2022 at approximately 12:53 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 42 near milepost 64. Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound brown Chevrolet pickup, operated by Bruce Wayne Tims (56) of Dillard, went into the ditch, through a fence and exited the roadway, into a tree.  The vehicle came to an abrupt stop and was heavily damaged.  Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the crash.   Tims sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.   A passenger, Ronald Knowtt (48) of Drain, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  OSP was assisted by Tenmile Fire Department and ODOT.

Sutherlin Fire Department At approximately 4:09pm, Sutherlin Fire Department was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the Bi-Mart on East Central Avenue. Within three and a half minutes of dispatch, Sutherlin Fire crews were on scene and beginning an aggressive initial attack. The fire was found to be a pile of wooden pallets burning behind the structure with direct flame impingement to the building. Fire crews quickly extinguished the pallets and then checked inside the structure for extension. No extension was found, however, crews found and extinguished embers that were burning on the roof. Sutherlin Fire provided 15 personnel between 1 Engine, 1 Ladder Truck, 2 Brush Rigs, and 2 Command Units. We were assisted by Oakland Rural Fire District and Fair Oaks Rural Fire District. The fire is currently under investigation by the Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal
