Eluding Case Leads to Search Warrant

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office Case 19-26648 On 12/27/19, at 1537 hours, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to pull over an unlicensed silver Mercedes Benz sedan in the 20,000 block of Hwy. 62 near Shady Cove, OR. The vehicle attempted to elude and drove onto a private driveway where it was stopped. The driver and a passenger were both arrested. The Mercedes was seized and towed. The driver, Michael Bradley Herlikofer, 30 years old, Shady Cove, Oregon was lodged on three warrants for Failure to Appear; Attempting to Elude a Police Officer-Vehicle; Giving False Information to Police Officer; Distribution of Schedule II Controlled Substance; Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance and Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance. The passenger, Tiffany Anderson Burke, 27 years old, Eagle Point, Oregon, was lodged for a probation violation detainer initially. Woman Wanted After Nearly Running Over State Trooper

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Sunday, December 29, 2019, just before 11 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a welfare check at NW Cedar Canyon Rd. and NW Killin Rd. near the community of Banks.  A passing driver told dispatch the driver of a blue 1991 Geo Prism was slumped over behind the wheel near that intersection. An Oregon State Police trooper found the car a short time later near the Banks City Hall on NW Main St.  The trooper was trying to get the woman out of the driver’s seat when she put the car in reverse.  The trooper was not hit by the car and was not run over, but he was thrown to the ground as she drove backwards.  He was not injured. The woman, later identified as 25-year-old Aubri Jenkins of Timber, hit the trooper’s front bumper causing minor damage and hit a parked truck before fleeing in her car at speeds of about 80 miles per hour.  The trooper pursued Ms. Jenkins north on Highway 47 and then west on Highway 26 befo

Oregon State Police  On Saturday, December 29, 2019 at approximately 12:05 A.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near milepost 241. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Focus, operated by John Shorb (27) of Myrtle Point, was northbound on Hwy 101 when he struck a pedestrian, Daniel Fowers (74) of Coos Bay, which was crossing Hwy 101.  Fowers sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. OSP was assisted by the Coos County Sheriff's Office, Millington Fire Department, Bay Cities Ambulance, and ODOT.

Oregon State Police  The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help for information regarding the person(s) responsible for the unlawful take of a buck deer east of Bend near Pine Mountain.  The buck deer was found shot and left to waste.  Troopers believe the deer was shot sometime during the week of Christmas. Two Teens Arrested After Stabbing at Overnight House Party

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Sunday, December 29, 2019, at 1:16 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a house in the 300 block of SW Devonwood Avenue.  An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy called 911 and said they had been at the house when they were both stabbed and were on Highway 26 driving to the hospital. While on the phone with dispatch, the two victims saw a Portland Police Bureau Officer and pulled over to get help.  That officer provided medical aid while calling for paramedics.  The 18-year-old had one stab wound in his neck and shoulder area and a second in his shoulder blade.  The 17-year-old had been stabbed in the side of his rib cage.  Both of them were taken to area hospitals and have since been released. While the two victims were being helped, other deputies went to the house and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit were called out.  Investigators learned that several teens who live at the hom

Update: Active Search and Rescue Operations Suspended

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office After five days of searching for Ms. Allyson Watterson, the search and rescue operations have been suspended.  Allyson has not been located at this time.  The decision to suspend that phase of the investigation was made after the search and rescue teams spent thousands of search hours covering an area of about 1,600 acres.  Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Allyson’s disappearance.  If new information comes to light or new areas to search are identified, the search and rescue teams may be recalled to continue their efforts. The public is reminded that the entire search area is private property, meaning members of the general public would be trespassing if they attempted to search on their own unless they had specific permission from each property owner. Fatal Crash Investigation

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office DIAMOND LAKE, Ore.  - On Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at 8:11 PM, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received information from Jackson County dispatch of an injury crash in the Diamond Lake area near the Jackson/Douglas county line. Resources from Jackson County were dispatched as well as resources from Douglas County. The initial report was that a single vehicle had went over an embankment and the occupants were injured.  The crash was determined to have occurred on Forest Service Road 6530 on the 100 spur. Emergency crews located a 2017 Toyota 4-Runner approximately 150 feet over the embankment into a ravine. Following the crash, a large boulder struck the vehicle.  The driver, 23 year-old Cody Ray Bean of Redmond, was declared deceased at the scene. Passengers 22 year-old Lauren Elizabeth Bean and 24 year-old Kody Dale Gray, both of Central Point and 48 year-old Lisa Ann Preston of Medford, all sustained injuries and were transported to M

K9 Nike captures wanted subject

Roseburg Police Dept. On Thursday, December 26th, 2019 Roseburg Police K9 Nike and his handler were called to assist in tracking a wanted subject who fled from Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies.  The male, 29 year old Trevor Hollenbeck of Dillard, had several warrants for his arrest, and had been wanted since 2018. During this incident K9 Nike tracked Hollenbeck for approximately 1 1/2 miles through blackberries, brush and in the South Umpqua river in the Dillard area.  After crawling about 80 yards through blackberries and bruch, K9 Nike found Hollenbeck concealed in the riverbank, covered in brush and a layer of dirt.  Hollenbeck refused to come out, so K9 Nike made a biting capture and held Hollenbeck until Hollenbeck was placed in handcuffs.  Hollenbeck was treated for minor injuries and lodged at Douglas County Corrections.

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office UPDATE - SUBJECT LOCATED The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a resident of California, last seen on Christmas Day at approximately 3:40 pm near the top of the Sunrise chair lift, at Mt. Bachelor. On 12/25/19, at approximately 5:03 pm deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by Mt. Bachelor Ski Patrol regarding an overdue skier. It was reported that Ashlee Gingerich, 30 years of age, had not reunited with her party on Mt. Bachelor. Mt. Bachelor Ski patrol swept all runs on the mountain and searched likely areas without success. Gingerich is described as approximately 5'6, 140 lbs with dark blonde hair. She was last seen around 3:40 wearing a black helmet, pink/purple pants with a green jacket. Gingerich does not have a phone with her. Fatal Crash on Hwy 126W - Lane County

Oregon State Police  On Wednesday, December 25, 2019  at approximately 4:30 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle collision on Hwy 126W near milepost 51. Preliminary investigation revealed a red GMC Sierra pickup operated by Conrad Schwarzkopf (25) of Springfield, was eastbound on Hwy 126W when it struck a bicycle, operated by Travis Ewert (49) of Veneta, in the eastbound lane. Ewert sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Schwarzkopf was not injured. Hwy 126W was closed for approximately 4 hours with a detour in place. OSP was assisted by Eugene Fire Department, Eugene Police Department, and ODOT. 

Crash Leaves One Seriously Injured

Gresham Police Dept Gresham Police is investigating a crash that left one man with life threatening injuries. Last night at 9:25 p.m., police responded to the report of a single vehicle collision at SE 182nd Ave. and SE Yamhill St. Police found one adult male passenger inside the vehicle with life threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital. According to a witness, the adult male driver was seen running from the vehicle. He has not been located. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Police Investigate Bus VS Pedestrian Collision

Gresham Police Dept Gresham Police is investigating a Tri-Met bus vs. pedestrian collision on SE 182nd Ave. just south of SE Division St. This morning at 4:59 a.m., an out of service Tri-Met bus was traveling southbound on 182nd Ave. when an adult male pedestrian suddenly stepped off the sidewalk and in front of the bus. Police Investigate Car VS Bicyclist Collision

Gresham Police Dept Gresham Police responded to a car vs. bicyclist collision which left one 17-year-old male deceased. Last night at 9:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a bicyclist struck at SE Hogan Rd. and SE 4th St. Police arrived on scene and found that the bicyclist was deceased. The investigation revealed that a group of teenagers were riding their bicycles northbound on Hogan when one crossed the street directly in front of a passing vehicle and was struck. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Impairment and speed do not appear to be factors. Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Monday, December 23, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies received reports of a missing woman in a wooded area near the City of North Plains. Allyson Joy Watterson, 20, was last seen during the day on Sunday, December 22, while she was hiking with a man. Allyson’s family hasn’t heard from her since the morning of December 20th. Allyson is described as a while female, 20 years old, with teal colored (naturally brown) hair and blue eyes. She is approximately 5’7” and 120 lbs. Allyson has a tattoo of an eye on the front left shoulder area along with a tattoo of a fairy sitting on a spider web on her left forearm. She was last seen wearing an orange/yellow-colored hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and brown Calvin Klein boots. She was also carrying a red backpack. Two Arrested On Pornography Charges

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office Case #19-19406  On October 24, 2019, JCSO detectives, aided by the JCSO special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team, served warrants at residences in the first block and the 1800-block of Upper Applegate Road. At the time of that incident, detectives arrested Joaquin Amadeus Cowart, 41, of the 1800-block of Upper Applegate Road.  Cowart had felony warrants for absconding from parole, and for charges related to a domestic violence incident.  He was lodged in the Jackson County jail without bail due to the State Parole Board warrant. Also, Cowart is a registered sex offender who had not updated his registration as required.  The investigation has been continuing since then. On 122319 JCSO Detectives added additional charges on Cowart, who has been in custody since October. Cowart has been charged with one count of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and five counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. Total bail $

Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) Stops Vehicle Pursuit on Friday

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - On Friday, December 20, 2019, at approximately 12:15 pm, an observant deputy saw a white 1995 Honda that was previously reported as stolen pass by his location on Roberts Creek Road. The deputy turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time the driver accelerated and led deputies on a pursuit.  A police officer from Roseburg Police Department was able to successfully deploy spike strip on the vehicle near Dixonville. Despite the spike strips, the suspect continued to attempt to elude deputies toward Glide on Highway 138 East. As the pursuit continued, a deputy in the Glide area successfully deployed a second set of spike strips on the vehicle.  The driver continued east on Highway 138 on only the rims of the vehicle. Man in Custody Following Stand-Off

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office TILLER, Ore.  - On December 23, 2019, at 11:14 AM, Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to make contact with 39 year-old Rodger Vince Royle at a residence in the 34000-block of Tiller Trail Highway regarding an arrest warrant. The deputies later made a radio transmission that a male subject had retrieved a rifle with a scope. Deputies requested additional resources to the scene. Assistance was received from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Eagle Point Police Department, Myrtle Creek Police Department and Oregon State Police. Additionally, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team and Jackson County SWAT Teams were dispatched. Deputies attempted to negotiate with Royle, but received no response. Shortly before 3:00 pm, the Tactical Response Team deployed gas into the shed where Royle was located and still did not receive a response. Oregon State Police  On June 6, 2018 Oregon Department of Transportation personnel located a human skull in the area of Interstate 5 near the 124 northbound exit ramp. Narcotics Search Warrant

Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Office On December 20, 2019 at approximately 2:30 PM the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Newport Police Department, Lincoln City Police Department, and the Toledo Police Department served a narcotics search warrant at 515 SE Melody Street, Depoe Bay, as a result of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine by Michael James Tatum, 56, and Casea Francis Williams, 34, both of Depoe Bay. Tatum and Williams are pictured below.  While executing the search warrant, upon contact with law enforcement, Tatum attempted to flush the methamphetamine. Subsequently, law enforcement located approximately 13 ounces of methamphetamine, packaging material, and scales in the residence. Also located in the residence was a user quantity of heroin, and various narcotics related paraphernalia.  Tatum and Williams were both transported to the Lincoln County Jail.  Tatum was lodged for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetami

Arrest Made In Child Pornography Case

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office On December 20th, 2019 Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Detectives made an arrest in a child pornography case first reported in 2018. The investigation began in September 2018 with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The initial report was that child pornography was being downloaded at a residence in the 7300 block of Upper Applegate Road near Jacksonville, Oregon. The investigation led to a search warrant being served at the home of the suspect. Subsequently, evidence belonging to the suspect was analyzed by the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force. Seven hundred images of child pornography were found along with over fifty images of animal sexual abuse. Detectives arrested Gary Lee Watts, 61 years old, of the 7300 block of Upper Applegate Rd. Jacksonville, Oregon at his home this morning. Watts was lodged at the Jackson County Jail. He is lodged on twenty counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse I (ORS 16

Fatal Crash on Hwy 138W - Douglas County

Oregon State Police  On Friday, December 20, 2019, at approximately 4:05 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy 138W near milepost 21, approximately 3 miles west of Sutherlin. Preliminary investigation revealed that a blue Ford Focus, operated by Corydon Stillwell (37) of Sutherlin, left the roadway and struck a tree. Stillwell sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. OSP was assisted on scene by Sutherlin Fire Department, ODOT,  and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Beaverton Police Dept. On December 18, 2019 at 10:58 a.m., Beaverton Police officers responded to a robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located in the Murray Hill Shopping Center at 14725 SW Teal Blvd. While responding to the bank, officers learned that there were at least two victims inside who had been stabbed. Two minutes after the initial 911 call, responding officers were advised of another call for service at the Planet Fitness next door to Wells Fargo. Officers were advised an adult male had been stabbed in the parking lot and the suspect stole his car. The suspect then fled towards Tigard, Oregon in the victim’s vehicle. At 11:03 a.m., Tigard Police Department officers were dispatched to a residential area close to SW Murray Blvd. and SW Scholls Ferry Rd. on a third report, where an adult female was stabbed and her vehicle stolen by the suspect from the prior two incidents.  The suspect eventually fled from the second stolen vehicle on foot in residential area near SW Pa

On August 18, 2019, at 1:36 a.m., Salem Police Department officers responded to the report of a shooting at the Pine Street Pub, located at 460 Pine Street Northeast in Salem. On Saturday, December 14, 2019, a Newport OSP Fish and Wildlife Trooper discovered a deceased black bear sow. The black bear was killed within the past two weeks and left to waste with no meat removed from the carcass. On Sunday, December 15, 2019, a Newport OSP Fish and Wildlife Trooper discovered a deceased cow elk. 19-year-old Newport resident arrested for sex abuse of 11 year

Newport Police Dept. The Newport Police Department was alerted to a reported rape and sex abuse of an 11-year-old Lincoln County resident that occurred on December 8th, 2019. An investigation was conducted and the victim was able to identify the suspect as 19-year-old Caleb Colgan of Newport. Colgan was interviewed at his residence in Newport on December 10th and confirmed that the sexual assault occurred. Colgan was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. On December 17th, Colgan was indicted by the Lincoln County Grand Jury on charges of: Rape 1 Sex Abuse 1 x3 Sodomy 1 x2 Strangulation x2 Unlawful Sexual Penetration I x2 Luring a Minor During the investigation, Detective’s learned Colgan may have had contact with additional juveniles. Tony Eugene Hadd Convicted of Multiple Charges in Child Sex Abuse Case

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On December 16, 2019, a Washington County jury found Tony Eugene Hadd guilty of three counts of second-degree rape, three counts of second-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Deputy District Attorney Rayney Meisel prosecuted Mr. Hadd in visiting Senior Judge Henry Kantor’s courtroom. In April of 2019, the teenage victim made a disclosure of abuse to her mother and a school counselor. The allegations were reported to law enforcement. The victim was then interviewed by experts at CARES Northwest where she told investigators that the abuse began on a camping trip and lasted several months. The Washington County District Attorney’s Office would like to acknowledge the bravery shown by the victim in coming forward. This office also commends the Tigard Police Detective Unit, CARES Northwest and the Oregon Department of Human Services for their work on this case. A sentencing hearing is schedul

ROSEBURG MAN ARRESTED FOR SEX ABUSE

Roseburg Police Dept. In late November of 2019 the Roseburg Police Department received a report alleging a minor female was sexually assaulted by an adult male, 28 year old Danya Czernowski of Roseburg.  The ensuing investigation revealed this incident occurred while the minor was visiting Czernowski's residence in Roseburg. On December 17th, 2019 Czernowski was arrested by Roseburg Police Detectives and lodged at Douglas County Corrections.  Czernowski was charged with Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.

Sparks was westbound on Harvard and ran into St Clair's car as St. Clair pulled into Denny's in front of her. Both drivers were able to pull their vehicles into the Denny's parking lot, and both were wearing their seatbelts. Both vehicles suffered moderate damage, but did not need tows.
