18-Year-Old Fatally Shot in Rock Creek, Suspect Sought

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office  - 09/30/18  On Sunday, September 30, 2018, at 12:47 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a residence in the 17700 block of Northwest Connett Meadow Court in the Rock Creek community. Initial reports were that someone had been shot during an altercation at a large party at the location. Deputies arrived and rendered medical aid to an 18-year-old male suffering from life-threatening injuries. Investigators learned the suspect fled the scene in the moments after the shooting. Multiple deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was transported to a local trauma hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Detectives with the inter-agency Washington County Major Crimes Team are leading the investigation. Personnel with the Oregon State Police Forensic Services Division are assisting at the scene. Passenger in stolen vehicle dies in crash - Jackson County

Oregon State Police  - 09/29/18  On Thursday, September 27, 2018, at approximately 8:30 PM. Deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office were responding to a restraining order violation in the White City area. When deputies arrived in the area a citizen flagged them down to report a suspicious vehicle (Toyota Tundra) that had been following them.  Deputies located a 2013 Toyota Tundra and attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle.  The operator, later identified as Christopher Giron (48) from Ashland, attempted to elude and drove southbound on Hwy 62 at a high rate of speed.  Giron attempted to turn eastbound onto Hwy 140 but failed to negotiate the corner.  Giron left the roadway at the southeast corner of the intersection, struck an electrical box that operates the traffic signal, and came to rest down an embankment.  Giron and his passenger, Teddy Geaney (50) from Klamath Falls, were transported to the hospital.  Geaney sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was p

Sheriff's Office  - 09/29/18  CANYONVILLE, Ore.  - A morning traffic stop in Canyonville on Thursday lead to a Wolf Creek man's arrest for weapon crimes.  34 year-old Ryan Justin Wagner was taken into custody shortly after a traffic stop in the 100-block of Gazley Bridge Road around 1030 am. Wagner was initially pulled over for traffic violations when a deputy observed a shotgun with a cut barrel. The deputy observed the firearm's serial number had been destroyed. Wagner, who has felony convictions, is prohibited from possessing firearms and was taken into custody without incident.  He was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the following charges:  Felon in Possession of a Firearm Unlawful Possession of a Short Barreled Firearm Obliteration of ID Number on a Firearm Unlawful Delivery of Imitation Controlled Substances

Man Arrested for Attempting to Lure Teen

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 09/29/18  MEDFORD, Ore. – A Wallowa County man accused of attempting to lure a Central Point teenager online is now lodged in the Jackson County jail.  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives say the arrest caps an 11-month investigation. On October 19, 2017, the parents of a 14-year-old boy with an autism spectrum disorder contacted JCSO to report suspicious online activity.  Detectives learned the teen victim had been communicating online with an adult male who sent the victim images depicting child sexual abuse, and encouraged the victim to send sexual images of himself.  The victim told detectives the man claimed to be a firefighter who attempted to meet the victim in person while he was working in Southern Oregon.  Detectives were later able to identify the suspect as John Delbert Stonebrink, 50, of Wallowa, Ore.  Detectives confirmed that Stonebrink was employed as a sanitation truck driver working at the Miller Complex Fires (in

Gresham Police Looking for Additional Burglary Victims

Gresham Police Dept  - 09/27/18  Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police have made two arrests for several commercial burglaries and detectives believe there may be additional victims. On Sept. 26, detectives arrested 32-year-old Tyson Proffitt, of Gresham and 27-year-old Thelma Louise Moss, of Gresham for multiple commercial burglaries committed in both Gresham and Portland. The burglaries were dated throughout the summer and were completed in a distinctive way. Proffitt and Moss would enter the business during business hours. Proffitt would distract the employee while Moss removed the door’s alarm sensor. Within the next several days, Proffitt would return and break into the building. He would then use a power tool to open the cash register, safe, and/or ATM machine. Detectives believe there may be additional victims. Gresham Police Dept  - 09/26/18  Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 22-year-old man last seen tonight around 5:00 p.m. at his northeast Gresham residence. Colin Caldart is on the autism spectrum and is not familiar with the area. He has a black hair, brown eyes, is approximately 5-feet-9-inches tall and 160 pounds. Lebanon Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm House Fire, Lacomb Grocery Store Saved

Lebanon Fire District  - 09/26/18 An early morning house fire at 34076 East Lacomb Road displaced a family and destroyed their single wide mobile home on Wednesday morning. First arriving fire crews to the 12:46 a.m. blaze reported heavy fire from the front of the structure with impingement on the Lacomb Grocery store next door. Flames had extended to a rear storage area of the store and were working their way into the main structure when crews arrived. Initial crews immediately called for a second alarm, bringing additional resources from the Albany, Scio, and Sweet Home Fire Districts to assist with the blaze. Firefighters deployed large hose streams to combat the heavy fire and prevent it from further advancing on the Lacomb Grocery building while simultaneously working on the mobile home fire to extinguish it completely. Deceased Person Presumptively Identified as 89-Year-Old Missing Woman

Portland Police Bureau  - 09/26/18  Based on information learned during this investigation, detectives believe the deceased person located inside a Toyota Camry that was stopped by officers on Monday, September 24, 2018, in the 9200 block of Southeast Holgate Boulevard is likely 89-year-old Marcine Herinck. Ms. Herinck was reported missing last week. The Oregon State Medical Examiner has determined the victim died of homicidal violence. This investigation began on the morning of Wednesday, September 19, 2018, when East Precinct officers responded to the report that Marcine Herinck was missing from her home in the 1500 block of Northeast 150th Avenue. The investigating officer contacted the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Missing Person Detail, which assumed the investigation. Motorcyclist dies in single vehicle crash - Lake County

Oregon State Police  - 09/26/18  On September 25, 2018 at approximately 1:00 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash on SR 140E near milepost 39 in Lake County, east of Adel.  Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Michael L. Paston (68) from Sterling, Colorado, was traveling eastbound on SR 140 when, for an unknown reason, the motorcycle drifted into the westbound ditch and rolled.  Paston sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.  SR 140E was closed for over an hour following the crash.  OSP was assisted by ODOT, Lake County Sheriff's Office, and Lakeview EMS.

Subject in Sisters arrested for vehicle break-ins

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 09/26/18  On 9/25/2018 at approximately 3:49 pm, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Black Butte Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at 576 E Jefferson in Sisters Oregon. Multiple calls were received by citizens on this incident and when law enforcement arrived; they contacted Noah Kirshner outside the residence.  During the course of investigation, it was determined that Kirshner had caused extensive damage to a residence, and had been throwing rocks at vehicles. Property found in Kirshner’s possession linked him to multiple vehicle break-ins in the Sisters area that had been reported the morning of 09/25/2018. Kirshner was taken into custody and transported to the Deschutes County Jail where he was lodged on one count of Criminal Mischief 1st degree, one count of Theft in the 2nd degree, and 8 counts of Unlawful Entry of Motor Vehicles. Crime Stoppers of Oregon  - 09/26/18 The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve a hit and run crash that killed a Northeast Portland man. On August 25, 2018, at approximately 10:33 p.m., 58-year-old Njugana Githere (pronounced Nuh-goonah GET-Therey) of Northeast Portland was walking across Northeast Sandy Boulevard near 20th Avenue when he was struck by a driver in a silver SUV driving eastbound on Sandy Boulevard. The driver sped away from the scene and has not been identified. The victim suffered traumatic injuries and survived for a few days but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The suspect vehicle is described as a 2005 to 2008 Honda Pilot, silver in color, with possible damage to the passenger-side exterior mirror, and passenger-side headlamp and turn signal assembly. Oregon State Police  - 09/26/18 Concluding a lengthy investigation, Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section has arrested Don Lee McAlpine Jr, for Rape in the 1st Degree.  McAlpine allegedly raped a 26 year-old mentally disabled female at Beachside State Park between August 10 and August 12, 2018.  OSP is requesting the public’s assistance in obtaining any information from anyone who might have stayed at or passed through Beachside State Park from August 10 through August 12.  Please contact the Oregon State Police Northern Command Center at (503) 731-3030 and reference case number SP18-340959.  OSP will like to thank our partner agencies: McMinnville Police Department, Dallas Police Department and Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Assault On A Public Safety Officer

Beaverton Police Dept.  - 09/26/18  On September 24, 2018, Beaverton Police officers arrested 52-year-old Thomas Ray after he harassed a train operator at Beaverton Transit Center and assaulted an officer. At 9:47 p.m. on September 24th, Beaverton Police officers responded to Beaverton Transit Center regarding Mr. Ray who harassed a train operator.  Prior to officers’ arrival, Mr. Ray left on a bus and subsequently caused a disturbance on that bus.  The bus stopped at SW Lombard/SW Canyon due to the disturbance Mr. Ray was causing.     The first officer arrived on scene and was speaking to Mr. Ray in the parking lot of Natural Foods Grocer.  As a second officer approached, Mr. Ray assaulted the first officer, to the extent, the officer needed medical attention.  Mr. Ray continued to resist arrest as more officers arrived.  Mr. Ray was finally taking into custody and transported to Washington County Jail.  The first officer was taken to a local hospital and later released.  The

Newport Police Dept.  - 09/26/18  On September 25th, 2018 the Newport Police Department executed a Narcotics related search warrant at a residence located at 210 NW 16th Street, Newport. Officers received information that Deborah Lynn Reed, 48, of Newport, was selling large amounts of narcotics in the Newport area, from her residence and vehicle. Officers located Heroin, Methamphetamine, digital scales, packaging material, drug records, drug use paraphernalia, US Currency and the vehicle used to facilitate the sale. Reed lived at the residence with her minor child, who was not home at the time the search warrant was served. Motorcyclist dies in collision with tree Hwy 126E - Lane County

Oregon State Police  - 09/26/18  On Monday September 24, 2018, at approximately 7:06 PM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a motorcycle crashed into a tree. Preliminary investigation revealed that a gray 1984 Honda motorcycle, operated by Roy K. Smith (64) of Eugene, was traveling westbound on Hwy 126E near Cedar Flat Rd. when for an unknown reason the motorcycle left the roadway and collided with a tree. Smith sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. OSP was assisted by the Lane Co Sheriffs' Office, ODOT, and Eugene-Springfield Fire Department.  

3 people stabbed on Hwy 140 - Jackson County

Oregon State Police  - 09/26/18 On September 24, 2018, at approximately 1:27 p.m. Oregon State Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of multiple subjects who had been stabbed on Highway 140 near MP 24.    Officer’s located the vehicle, a white Dodge Caravan with North Carolina plates, near MP 4 on Highway 140.  Three passengers in the vehicle were determined to have stab wounds and were transported by ambulance to the Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford.  Antonie Eugene Kirby (32) and Jemario Deronte Richardson (30) both from Winston Salem, NC, were treated for injuries and released. Marcus Earl Taylor (34) from Winston Salem, NC, received life threatening injuries and was transported by Mercy Flights Air Ambulance to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland where he is listed in critical condition.  The suspect, identified as Kevin Juwan Reed (35) from Winston Salem, NC, exited the vehicle (near Hwy 140 milepost 24) and left

Death Investigation Leads to Arrest of a Tangent Man

Linn County Sheriff's Office  - 09/25/18  Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon reports that on September 21, 2018 at 4:21 p.m., the Linn County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a 61-year-old male who was unconscious and not breathing.  Paramedics from the Tangent Fire Department responded to the 31000 block of McLagan Road in Tangent and pronounced Donald Whisenhunt, a resident of the property, deceased.  Deputies with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate the death. Investigators were able to determine Donald Whisenhunt had been in a physical altercation prior to his death.  Investigators learned the physical altercation occurred around 7:00 p.m. on September 20, 2018 with Donald’s nephew, Chad Adam Cheever, 45 years of age, also a resident of the property.  An autopsy by the State Medical Examiners Office showed Donald Whisenhunt had died as a result of his injuries caused during physical altercation. Fatal vehicle crash on Hwy 97 near Klamath Falls - Klamath County

Oregon State Police  - 09/24/18  On Friday, September 21, 2018 at approximately 1:35 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 97 near milepost 275 - Main St. interchange. Investigation revealed that 2012 Dodge Durango, operated by Juan Gonzalez (29) of Klamath Falls was southbound on Hwy 97 when for unknown reasons crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a 2004 Saturn Ion, operated by Meachelle Steele (44) of Klamath Falls. Steele sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.   Hwy 97 was closed for approximately 4 hours. OSP was assisted by the Klamath Falls Police Department, Klamath County Fire District 1 and ODOT.

Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office  - 09/24/18  ROGUE RIVER, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies have released the name of the man who died in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.  Deputies say Adam Christopher Haupt, 23, of the 700-block of Covered Bridge Road, died when his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle left the roadway in a curve and crashed into a concrete block wall.  On Friday, September 21, 2018, at 10:56 p.m., JCSO deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle crash in the 3500-block of East Evans Creek Road.  Passersby stopped to render aid shortly after the crash and called 911.  Haupt was found to be beyond help due to extensive injuries to his head and body.  The force of the crash had caused Haupt's helmet to come off.  Personnel from the Rogue River Police Department and Rogue River Fire District #1 assisted at the scene.  The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while deputies investigated the crash.   Deputies are unsure whether

Sheriff's Office  - 09/24/18 GLIDE, Ore. -  A Glide man was arrested on Friday following a sex crimes investigation.  The Sheriff's Office received a report that 42 year-old Jamie Todd Adams had sexually molested a child known to him. Through the course of the investigation, deputies developed probable cause for Adams' arrest. Portland Police Bureau  - 09/24/18  Members of the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) continue to search for two suspects believed to be involved in a home invasion robbery that occurred Monday, September 24, 2018, at 4:49 a.m., at a residence in the 8600 block of North Foss Avenue. Officers responded to the location of the robbery on North Foss Avenue and learned a suspect entered the home, displayed a handgun and threatened the occupants of the location. After the suspect obtained an item from the location, he exited the location and was seen leaving in a Jeep. Officers provided a description of the suspect's vehicle to responding officers. As an officer searched the area, he located a Jeep that matched the suspect vehicle description. Crime Stoppers of Oregon  - 09/24/18  The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to solve a 2015 homicide. On Wednesday September 23, 2015, at 8:34 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the area of Northeast 15th Avenue and Buffalo Street after multiple reports of gunfire in the area. Officers arrived in the area and located a vehicle occupied with two gunshots victims. Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported a 41-year-old female victim from the scene with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. 30-year-old Stephen Dwayne McCorvey Jr. died at the scene. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that McCorvey died as a result of the shooting. At this time, there is no suspect information. Beaverton Police Department 9/24/18 On September 7, 2018 Beaverton Police Detectives arrested 30-year-old Ryan Mutchler. Mutchler had a text message conversation, over several days with an undercover detective, which outlined Mutchler’s desires to have a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Mr. Mutchler was taken to Washington County Jail and charged with Online Sexual Corruption of a Minor in the Second Degree and Luring a Minor. Beaverton Police Department was  informed of Mr. Mutchler’s potential behavior by alert parents who monitored their child’s cell phone use. Mr. Mutchler met the victim at a joint church camp between June 24th and June 30, 2018. Mutchler was a youth pastor at Mountain Park Church in Lake Oswego and he assisted with the Aloha High School marching band program on a short-term basis. Injured Hiker near South Sister

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 09/23/18 On September 23, 2018, at approximately 1300 hours, 911 Dispatch received a call that a hiker had fallen while walking, on the trail, near Lewis Glacier, near South Sister. The injury prevented the hiker from continuing down the trail without assistance from Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Volunteers.  Four DCSO SAR Volunteers were transported by Air Link to the top of South Sister and walked approximately 0.5 mile down the scree slope to evaluate the injured hiker. An additional four DCSO SAR Volunteers hiked from the Devil's Lake Trailhead to meet up with the other Volunteers. DCSO SAR Volunteers assisted the injured Hiker into their wheeled litter and hiked approximately 1.5 miles to an area where Air Link was able to safely land. The injured Hiker was transported by Air Link to St. Charles for further evaluation for non life threatening injuries.  The DCSO SAR Volunteers were assisted by several hikers

Three Alarm Brush Fire in Silverton a Close Call

Silverton Fire Dist.  - 09/23/18   The Silverton Fire District responded on a grass and brush fire this evening at the 16000 block of Stormy Dr. East of Silverton. The fire threatened several structures and required fire equipment and personnel from six fire agencies in order to stop the blaze. The fire was running fast through high grass, brush and trees as the first unit arrived which prompted additional alarms. High winds and dry conditions allowed the fire to spread fast. If  firefighters not been able to put as much equipment and personnel on the fire, it likely would have spread to structures and dense timber nearby. The property owner was treated on scene by medics for smoke inhalation.    The fire was caused by the property owner trying to burn out a Yellow Jacket nest using lighter fluid. Armed Robbery

Medford Police Dept.  - 09/23/18  On 09-23-18 at approximately 0855 hours Medford Police responded to the Peach St Market (located at 424 S Peach St, Medford) for a reported armed robbery. The male suspect entered the store with a handgun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Medford Police Officers responded to the scene but did not locate the suspect.  The suspect is described as a light skinned Black Male Adult, 6'00 with a medium to heavy build. He was armed with a black semi-automatic pistol.

Junction City Police  - 09/23/18  In July of 2018 the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Oregon State Police, and the Junction City Police Department received reliable information that Anthony Joseph Johnson, 37, was manufacturing explosive devices at his residence, located at 420 Kalmia St. in Junction City. At 11:21 A.M. on Monday, September 17, 2018 neighbors summoned Junction City Police Officers to the Johnson residence on a report of a domestic disturbance between Johnson and the female who resides at the house with him.  Upon arrival it was determined that Johnson had rushed the female with a hatchet then drove the hatchet through the windshield of her vehicle.  The female was referred to a domestic violence resource organization to help ensure her safety.  Attempts were made to contact and interview Johnson; however, he barricaded himself in his residence and refused to come out.  Based upon the information law enforcement had gained since July regar

Gresham Police Asking for Witnesses of Hit and Run

Gresham Police Dept  - 09/22/18  Gresham, Ore.— Gresham Police is asking for any witnesses of a Sept. 21 hit and run to come forward. Yesterday around 9:21 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on NE Hogan Dr. south of SE Stark St. Police arrived on scene and found that the pedestrian was seriously injured. The involved vehicle had fled the scene. Police learned that the pedestrian had been crossing NE Hogan Dr. and not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a black four door sedan. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound on NE Hogan Dr. Anyone who witnessed or has information about the collision is asked to call the Gresham Police at 503.618.2719.

FBI Arrests Cave Junction Man on Charges He Threatened YouTube Employees and CEO

FBI - Oregon  - 09/22/18 William Gregory Douglas, age 35, of Cave Junction, Oregon, is tentatively set to make his initial appearance before a federal magistrate judge on Monday, September 24, 2018, on charges that he threatened employees of YouTube. FBI Agents arrested Douglas outside a convenience store in Cave Junction on Thursday, September 20, 2018, without incident.  According to the criminal complaint filed in this case, Douglas started making threats online on August 23, 2018, using the alias "LiamXmaiLRevolutionX". The criminal complaint alleges that Douglas posted a series of tweets that included language such as "I would kill the 100 YouTube employees," "you want a bigger mass casualty aka shooting let's see what I can do," and "return my channel you low life Sholes before someone else comes and shoots more of your employees." Bend Police Dept.  - 09/22/18 On September 15th, the Bend Police Department received several reports of a white passenger car with multiple people inside shooting paintball guns at other vehicles, people and property. The reports continued into September 16th with no other reported incidents after September 16th. Based on the vast amount of reporting, the similar suspect vehicle description and the concern to the livability of the community inside Bend, and just outside the city limits, the Bend Police established a small task force to investigate the rash of incidents. This task force, consisting of patrol officers and detectives with the Bend Police Department, spent several hours a day from Saturday through September 20th putting information together to identify suspects. Officers Arrest Suspect, Seize Firearm and Illegal Drugs at Dawson Park On Wednesday Evening

Portland Police Bureau  - 09/21/18  On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, Portland Police Bureau Street Crime Unit officers arrested 48-year-old Jeremy J. McKinley at Dawson Park, located at 2949 North Williams Avenue. This investigation occurred while officers were performing an investigation regarding illegal drugs. During the investigation, officers learned McKinley was reportedly selling illegal drugs in Dawson Park. Officers located and contacted McKinley seated in the park. He was taken into custody without incident. After officers placed McKinley in handcuffs, they searched him and located and seized a firearm and illegal drugs, presumably identified as cocaine. McKinley was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Delivery of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a School, Delivery of Cocaine, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Cocaine, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm. McKinley has since been released from the Multnomah County Jail.

$30,000 Reward Offered to Solve the Murder of Cody Oller in Northeast Portland

Portland Police Bureau  - 09/21/18  In January 2018, 25-year-old Cody Oller was killed in a shooting in Northeast Portland's Fernhill Park. Oller's father has pledged a reward of $30,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Oller's death. This investigation started on Monday, January 8, 2018, at 9:32 p.m., when North Precinct officers responded to the report of gunfire at Fernhill Park, located at 6010 Northeast 37th Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and located Oller lying on the ground inside the park. Responding emergency medical personnel determined that Oller was deceased. The Oregon State Medical Examiner later determined that Oller's death was the result of a gunshot wound and ruled the death a homicide. There is no suspect information in this case.
