CHINA HAT ROLLOVER CRASH

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office On April 30, 2021, at about 7:23 p.m., deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on USFS Road 1815 near China Hat Rd.  Responding deputies arrived and found a Black 2004 Toyota pickup truck on its side after apparently rolling over several times.    The initial investigation determined the vehicle was northbound on USFS Road 1815 at a high rate of speed for the conditions.  The driver lost control of the vehicle as it fishtailed and then rolled over several times.   The vehicle was occupied by five juvenile males ranging in age from 15 to 16.  Three juveniles were in the cab of the pickup, and two juveniles were riding in the bed of the pickup.  The two juveniles in the bed of the pickup were thrown from the vehicle as it rolled over.    Bend Fire Department personnel responded and treated several juveniles for injuries.    Three of the juveniles were transported to the emergency room at St. Charles

MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION NEAR TURNER

Marion Co. Sheriff's Office On Friday, April 30th, 2021, a few minutes after 12:30 p.m., deputies were called to the report of a head-on collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Turner Road SE near Ahrens Road SE.  Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office CRASH team responded to lead the investigation.  Initial information at the scene indicates a green Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Turner Road when it went into the oncoming lane, striking the motorcyclist.  The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as Wayne Laird, 66, of Scio.  The next of kin have been notified, they are requesting no contact from the media. The driver of the Honda Accord remained on scene following the crash, they were not injured.  The name of the involved driver is not being released at this time. Turner Road was closed to traffic for approximately 4 ½ hours while investigators processed the scene of the crash.

Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit Arrests Man for Sex Abuse and Furnishing to Minors

Lane County Sheriff's Office Today, April 30, 2021, Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit arrested Ely Macias, age 32, of Eugene, after a lengthy investigation related to multiple incidents over a several month period in 2020. The investigation involved allegations of Macias furnishing alcohol, marijuana, and vape devices to minors. Subsequent investigations led to additional witnesses, as well as victims who disclosed sexual contact with Macias.   It is believed there may be additional witnesses or victims not currently known to law enforcement. Anyone having information related to incidents involving Macias are encouraged to contact Detective J. TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING STOLEN VEHICLE PURSUIT WEDNESDAY

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office ROSEBURG, Ore.  - A short vehicle pursuit Wednesday afternoon landed two in the Douglas County Jail.  On Wednesday, April 29, 2021, around 1:00 PM, a deputy attempted to stop a stolen 2020 Nissan Altima sedan in the area of Maple Street in Roseburg. The driver of the stolen vehicle stopped momentarily before driving away from the traffic stop. The deputy pursued the vehicle to the area of Goedeck Avenue and Old Melrose Road where a passenger side tire failed and the vehicle came to a stop. The driver, 35 year-old Nicole Megan Yates of Roseburg, and her passenger, 32 year-old Scott Ryan Hadley of Roseburg were taken into custody and lodged at the Douglas County Jail. Yates was charged with Attempting to Elude Police - Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle. Hadley was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. He was also cited and released for possession of a violation amount

SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED TEENAGER'S BEDROOM IN POLK COUNTY, OR.

Polk Co. Sheriff's Office On 04/24/21 at about 04:00 a.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespass call near the intersection of Eola Dr NW and Doaks Ferry RD NW just outside of Salem, OR. The caller reported that he located an adult male in bed with his teenage granddaughter. The caller immediately called 911 and deputies responded to the scene. Polk County Deputies located Zaki Daniel McCallum, age 19, in bed asleep with the juvenile. Deputies interviewed Mr. McCallum and learned that he had a warrant for a probation violation with an original charge being Rape III in Washington County, OR. In addition Mr. McCallum was on probation through Washington County Community Corrections for Rape III. As part of his probation he was prohibited from contact with minors. Mr. McCallum was arrested and lodged at the Polk County Jail for his warrant and for the additional violation of his probation for having contact with a minor. Three missing children found safe, mother is in custody

Lane County Sheriff's Office  McGrady was arrested today in the Sacramento, California area. The children have been recovered and are safe. EPD Violent Crimes Unit detectives wish to thank the FBI offices in Eugene and Sacramento, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 4/27/20201 at 12:05pm the Lane County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 1300 block of N. Park Avenue in Eugene for the report that a male, identified as 48 year old Daniel Wayne Wilkinson of Eugene, had killed a family dog during a mental health crisis.  It was reported by family members that Wilkinson was making delusional comments, shot the dog, and then barricaded himself in a bedroom when confronted by family.  Wilkinson was reported to have several firearms inside the bedroom.  Wilkinson was further reported to have a violent history while armed with a firearm.  Deputies arrived on scene and learned that there was no home phone, Wilkinson did not have a cell phone, and there was no way to contact him without putting themselves in danger. LANE COUNTY PURSUIT

Lane County Sheriff's Office On 04/26/21 at about 9:00pm, Deputies received a report of a suspicious male, later identified as 51 year old Terry Albert Conner, attempting to pay for gas with multiple credit cards at the Jasper Store.  The caller reported that Conner then left without paying for the gas and provided a license plate for Conner’s car, which returned as stolen out of Multnomah County. Deputies were in the area and located the vehicle on Jasper Park Road, at which point they attempted a traffic stop.  Conner refused to stop and drove off at high speed, during which time he drove through residential yards and crashed through fencing. Deputies pursued Conner back onto Parkway Road to Jasper Road. Springfield Police use Spike Strips at Jasper Road and Bob Straub Parkway that safely deflated one of the stolen vehicles tires.  Conner continued to refuse to stop and accelerated towards Main Street in Springfield.  As the pursuit continued, Conner stopped the stolen vehicle ne

GRESHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING

Gresham Police Dept On the evening of April 26th, 2021, a vigil was being held for 22-year-old, Alejandro Barajas at the 17400 BLK of SE Stark ST. Less then 24 hours prior, Barajas was killed by gunfire at this location. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a dark SUV drove past the vigil where many were in attendance. At this point, gunfire was exchanged between the occupants of the dark SUV and members of the crowd. As a result, 7 people were injured by gunfire. The SUV was last seen traveling west on SE Stark ST. The suspects are currently at large. In the meantime, the victims were transported to local area hospitals and are expected to survive. U.S. Attorney's Office - District of Oregon WASHINGTON — An Oregon man was arrested for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, which disrupted a Joint Session of the U.S. Congress in the process of ascertaining and counting the electoral votes related to the Presidential election. Reed Knox Christensen, 62, of Hillsboro, is charged with federal offenses that include forcibly assaulting, resisting, impeding or interfering with law enforcement; engaging in an act of physical violence in a Capitol building; and entering or remaining on restricted grounds without lawful authority, among other charges. Christensen made his initial court appearance in the District of Oregon this afternoon. According to court documents, Christensen was on the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol grounds where U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) were protecting the building from rioters. TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN BURGLARY OF HEMP DRYING FACILITY

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 4/25/21 at approximately 0930 hours, Officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to 2152 NE Spalding Avenue for a reported burglary in progress.  Victims reported two males had entered the hemp drying facility and were taking items later valued at over $20,000.  When confronted, the suspects drove their vehicle at the victim in an effort to escape with the stolen property.  The suspects then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.  The passenger of the vehicle was able to escape the building while the driver of the vehicle ran to the other side of the facility and concealed himself under hemp trimmings.  Officers arrived at the scene and locked down the facility.  Additional units continued to search the area with the assistance of the Josephine County Sheriff's Department.  Officers at the facility gave numerous commands into the area of the building the suspect was last seen, ordering him to surrender, but he refused to c
