Lane Co. Sheriff's Office On 7/31/2020 shortly after 1:00 p.m., the Lane County Sheriff's Office received a report of a deceased female in the Willamette River just downstream from Clearwater Park. A community member recreating on the river spotted the female in the water and called the police.  Deputies, Search and Rescue personnel, and local fire personnel responded to the area. The deceased is believed to be 22 year old Abigael Bellows from Eugene who was last seen on July 22, 2020 swimming near Clearwater Park when she went underwater and never resurfaced.  Search and Rescue teams, including divers, have been searching for Abigael ever since.   The Lane County Sheriff's Office and the Lane County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the death.  Our thoughts are with Abigael's family and friends as they grieve.

Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On July 31st, 2020 at 1003hrs, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motorcycle crash near the 1600 block of Robertson Bridge Road.  The rider was flown by Mercy Flights to Rogue Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The rider has been identified as 57 year old Patrick Kelly Riley.  The next of kin has been notified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Oregon State Police On July 31, 2020, Grants Department of Public Safety responded to Three Rivers Medical Center for a female that had been shot. The victim was identified as Julie Names (43) from Josephine County.  Hospital staff made every effort to revive the victim but were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased. The Oregon State Police Major Crime Team was called and responded to the hospital.  The man, who drove the victim to the hospital, was detained and interviewed as a potential suspect.  The suspect, Travis Albins (41) of Josephine County, was arrested today and charged with Unlawful use of a Weapon and Manslaughter I.

Oregon State Police UPDATE- Thanks to the public's assistance, the deceased female has been positively identified as Annette Fagan (58) of Portland, Oregon. No further information will be released.  On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at approximately 1:02 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a deceased adult white female found on the beach between Devil's Punchbowl and Otter Rock.  The deceased female is believed to have washed up after an undetermined amount of time in the Pacific Ocean.  The deceased female has yet to be identified and the investigation is ongoing.  OSP is seeking the public’s assistance with help identifying this person.  The deceased white adult female has blonde mid-length hair, blue eyes and believed to be between 40 and 50 years of age.  She was wearing black yoga-style pants with the logo “Wilson Lacrosse” on the hip, a white t-shirt with “Skyhawks Sports Academy” logo, and gray with orange sole Nike

Oregon Department of Human Services (Salem, Ore.) – Isaiah Moore, an infant born on July 25, 2020, went missing with his mother April Moore and her partner Aaron Elkin from Oregon City after his birth. The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) believes that Isaiah and his mother are at risk and is searching for them to assess their safety. Oregon DHS asks the public to help in the effort to find them and to contact 911 or the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline at 1-855-503-SAFE (7233) if they believe they see them. Gresham Police Dept Gresham, Ore. – Gresham Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 13-year-old boy. Alan Fajardo was last seen two days ago after leaving his residence near the 2500 block of NE 201st Ave. He has brown eyes and black hair, is approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall, and 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green and brown plaid shirt, white hat, blue running pants and black shoes.   Anyone who knows of Alan Fajardo's whereabouts is asked to call 911. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office GLIDE, Ore.  - A Sutherlin man was arrested for starting six fires in the forest Tuesday night. Around midnight, deputies were notified that Douglas Forest Protective Association had been dispatched to a reported fire northeast of Glide near McComas Creek. When firefighters arrived in the area they located an individual who was armed with a machete. The male subject wanted the firefighters to give him a ride into Glide and told them if they didn't he would set additional fires. Deputies arrived and located the male, later identified as 39 year-old Jedediah Ezekiel Fulton of Sutherlin. Fulton was still armed with a machete.  He was eventually taken into custody and admitted to setting multiple fires in the area. He told deputies he had been in the forest for approximately 3 hours and was attempting to get help.  Fulton was transported to the Douglas County Jail where he was lodged on the following crimes, although additional charge

Josephine Co. Oregon State Police On Thursday, July 23, 2020 at approximately 9:04 P.M., a Trooper from the Central Point Area Command stopped a 2020 GMC Terrain SUV for failure to signal a lane change (multiple occasions) on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 19.  During the traffic stop, the Trooper conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle after a positive alert to the odor of controlled substances by an OSP drug detection K-9. The probable cause search revealed approximately 8 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in the vehicle.  Troopers also located an additional 16 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.    The driver was identified as Erica L. Rust (29) from Salem, Oregon and passenger identified as Patricia Cardenas (54) from Keizer, Oregon.  Ms. Rust and Ms. Cardenas were lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine. Oregon State Police  On Sunday, July 26, 2020 at approximately 7:07 P.M. Oregon State Police responded to the report of a motorcycle crash, which occurred on State Route 34 near mile post 14 in Lincoln County. Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2012 Ducati motorcycle, operated by Kenneth Robert KEARNEY (51) of Waldport, was westbound negotiating a sweeping left turn when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle went off the westbound shoulder.  The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled rest in the roadside brush.  Kearney was ejected off the motorcycle during the crash.  Kearney sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. One lane of SR 34 was closed for approximately three hours.  OSP was assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Central Coast Fire Department, Seal Rock Fire Department, PacWest Ambulance and ODOT Incident Response.

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 2:04 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on SW River Rd, South of SW Farmington Rd. A single-vehicle had left the road and struck a tree. Deputies arrived and found that a single vehicle had been traveling South on SW River Rd. at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, 23-year-old Edelmir Mata- Garcia, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to OHSU. The passenger, 24-year-old Carlos Gonzalez-Tapia was pronounced dead at the scene . Deputies suspect that Mr. Mata-Garcia had consumed alcohol and was driving at a high rate of speed. They believe he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree, killing his passenger. After investigating the crash and the suspicion of DUII, deputies arrested Mr. Mata-Garcia for Manslaughter in the 2nd degree, DUII, and Reckless Driving. He was lodged at the Washington

Lane Co. Sheriff's Office The Lane County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance locating missing man Gordon Sage.  Gordon was last seen this morning at approximately 4:00 a.m.  When family went to check on him at 8:00 a.m. he was missing, along with the family's 2011 white Chevrolet Impala (Oregon plate 645 FFM).  Gordon hasn't driven in over a year and may be suffering from some dementia.  Gordon is also overdue for his daily medication.   Gordon is described as standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds with white hair and hazel eyes. Gordon has ties in the Portland and Bend area, but it is unknown at this time which direction he may have gone.   The Lane County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has seen Gordon or his white Chevrolet Impala to call 541-682-4150 then press 1 and reference case # 20-4912.

Oregon Military Department PORTLAND, Ore .  - Members of the Oregon National Guard paid honors to a fellow service member, Private First Class Alexander B. Klass as his remains were returned home to Oregon with an honor flight and funeral procession from the Portland International Airport (PDX) to McMinnville. He was deployed with the 162nd Infantry Regiment at Camp Novo Selo, Kosovo, during the time of his death on July 4, 2020. Pfc. Lincoln City Police On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at about 11:25 PM, Lincoln City Police Officers responded to a reported suspicious person call in the southwest 3800 block of Hwy 101. It was reported that a man was walking along Hwy 101 while carrying several surf boards. Officers located the man and identified him as 29-year-old Christian M. Berry of California and Hawaii, carrying several surf boards. When asked, Berry said he found the surf boards.  During the subsequent investigation, officers saw that the surfboards still had price stickers on them and that he was wearing two hats on his head. In addition Berry had a wetsuit tied around his waist that still had tags on it. Berry was also found to be in possession of an acoustic guitar, wax, board fins, and other items, many price tag marked and surf related. Marion Co. Sheriff's Office On July 22nd, 2020, at shortly after 7:00 pm a caller reported a swimmer in distress in the Willamette Slough, near Riverfront Park in Salem.  The Salem Police Department and Salem Fire Department responded to the scene and began an initial search for the missing swimmer.  Marion County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue was requested to respond to help coordinate search efforts.  After original attempts to locate the swimmer were unsuccessful, the search was suspended for the night just after 10:00 pm. Search efforts resumed this morning, July 23rd, at approximately 6:00 am.  The victim was finally located by divers from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office a few minutes after 2:30 pm.  The victim has been identified as, Troy Bowdish, 18, of Dallas. Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office Case #20-14059 Update on Deputy Involved Shooting The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has not yet publicly identified the suspect who was shot by deputies on Tuesday night. Because the suspect has not been charged at this time and the investigation is still active, the release of his name will be delayed. The Sheriff’s Office has released some further details about the incident. JCSO deputies responded to the parking lot of the White City Dairy Queen regarding a request from a detective assigned to M.A.D.G.E., Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement, unit to check on a suspect who was reportedly in possession of a large quantity of drugs and possibly armed. Two deputies contacted the suspect and began speaking with him. After a few minutes, a struggle ensued between the deputies and suspect. Oregon State Police On Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at approximately 10:44 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 234 near mile post 12. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda motorcycle, operated by Mark Nienhouse (42) of Medford, was traveling west on Hwy 234 when it struck an elk in the roadway. Nienhouse and his passenger, Jennifer Ayala (30) of Central Point, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased. OSP was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Jackson County Fire District 3, and ODOT.

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office GLENDALE, Ore . - On Monday, July 20, 2020, at 6:10 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a stabbing in the 200-block of Montgomery Ave in Glendale.  When deputies arrived, they learned a 15 year-old was upset with a 16 year-old female juvenile and had threatened to stab her with a knife. 18 year-old Joseph Gage Fish of Glendale attempted to intervene and ended up fighting with the 15 year-old male. During the fight, Fish was stabbed in the side of the neck. The 16 year-old sustained a minor cut to her elbow during the fight.  The suspect is known to law enforcement and his whereabouts are currently unknown, although Detectives believe he is possibly enroute to California. The suspect is not believed to be a threat to the public.  The case is currently being investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Detective's Division. Case#20-3272

Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office   UPDATE 07/21/2020 ROSEBURG, Ore.  - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is unable to substantiate that a crime occurred in the reported noose incident found at Whistler's Bend Park in late June. On June 22, 2020, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office became aware of a post on social media where an individual reported finding a noose outside of his yurt during a weekend trip to Whistlers Bend Park. The Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation. The patrol and detective's division put an extensive amount of time and effort into the case. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office enlisted the assistance of the FBI. At this time, the investigative portion of the case has concluded, based upon all leads available to investigators. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office   ROSEBURG, Ore.  - A Winston man drowned in the North Umpqua River Monday night. Shortly after 8:00 pm, on Monday, July 21, 2020, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a male who was in the North Umpqua River who was not breathing. The callers directed responders to the 900-block of Echo Drive off of North Bank Road. When deputies arrived, they found the male on an island where CPR was being performed by bystanders. The deputies were able to get to the male by boat and bring him to shore to a waiting ambulance. The male was identified as 36 year-old David Duane Ham of Winston. Ham was transported to Mercy Medical Center where he later died. Deputies learned Ham was swimming when he began to yell for help and went under water. The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the death. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Douglas County Fire District #2, Bay Cities Ambulance and Glide Fire Department.

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety Between July 17 and 18, 2020, the Grants Pass Dept of Public Safety (GPDPS) received reports of suspicious behavior at two local businesses.  The first call was at Robinson Dental, 124 NE Evelyn. A male subject showed a 20 year old female employee explicit photos and video while making inappropriate comments. The male subject later sat alone in his vehicle in the parking lot and masturbated. The second call was at Holiday Inn Express, 105 NE Agness, regarding a male subject who exposed his genitals to a 20 year old female employee in the lobby of the hotel.  Further investigation determined the suspect, Jason Evans, was also suspected of similar incidents in Jackson County. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office   ROSEBURG, Ore.  - Detectives are investigating a stabbing incident which took place in the Green District Monday evening.  On Monday, July 20, 2020, at 9:21 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a stabbing which had taken place in the 400-block of Harmony Drive.  When deputies arrived, they located three individuals with injuries. Deputies learned a disturbance had taken place over money. During the disturbance, 50 year-old James Leland Nance of Idleyld Park was struck over the head with a shovel. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for an evaluation.  34 year-old Jack Salberg and 34 year-old Brandon Lee Welter, both of Roseburg, sought medical attention on their own after sustaining cuts.  Deputies also arrested 34 year-old Ryan Mark Weber and 26 year-old Autumn Storm Smith on unrelated warrants.  Detectives are still investigating the incident. Oregon Dept. of Forestry CANYONVILLE, Ore. - The Days Creek Fire, located approximately 14 miles northeast of Canyonville in Douglas County, was reported Monday morning, July 20, shortly after 11 a.m.  The first engine to arrive on scene reported the fire to be approximately three acres in size, burning in logging slash.  An aggressive initial attack by aviation and ground resources is currently keeping the fire in check at 35 acres. Four Type 2 helicopters and one Type 1 helicopter have been working on the fire, in addition to two large air tankers and two single-engine air tankers. Numerous ground resources, including engines, hand crews, and equipment are also on scene of the fire, working to construct fire trails around the blaze.  In addition to Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) resources, equipment and personnel from industrial landowners, industrial operators and the Umpqua National Forest are assisting with suppression efforts. Douglas Co. Sheriff's Office CANYONVILLE, Ore.  - K9 Ozzy located an assault suspect hiding in a shed on Sunday evening.  Shortly before 4:30 pm, deputies were dispatched to a reported assault which took place at the Masonic Cemetery in Canyonville (700 N Main Street). Deputies contacted the victim who stated she had been struck in the head from behind by 33 year-old Canyonville resident Robert Matthew Frieler. The victim also stated Frieler had a knife in his hand at the time of the assault, and believed she could have been stabbed. The victim was bleeding and had a visible injury to her head. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for a non-life threatening injury.  Deputies responded to a residence in the 400-block of Carlisle Court in Canyonville where Frieler was reported to have been. Sheriff's Office MYRTLE CREEK, Ore.  - A California man who burglarized a Myrtle Creek gun shop and stole several firearms is in custody after a pursuit.  On Sunday, July 19, 2020, shortly before 9:00 pm, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a male who had broken into a gun shop in the 100-block of Storage Way in Myrtle Creek and was loading his vehicle with firearms and ammunition.  As deputies were responding, a Myrtle Creek Police Officer observed the suspect vehicle leave. Deputies attempted to stop the driver, when he accelerated and entered Interstate 5 southbound.  The suspect lead law enforcement on a pursuit and briefly got away. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was observed in a pullout near milepost 97. K9 Ozzy assisted taking the suspect into custody as he ran into the freeway.  The suspect was identified as 29 year-old Dejan Anthony Sebastian of Los Angeles, California. Salem Police Dept. On Friday, July 17th, 2020, at approximately 3:20 a.m., Salem Police detectives were in a vehicle after conducting an investigation when a vehicle drove up next to the detectives and several shots were fired at the detectives’ vehicle.  One of the bullets penetrated the car, striking a detective in the arm. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was later located in the 1200 block of Waller St SE.  The injured officer, identified as Salem Police Detective Angus “Scotty” Emmons, was able to drive himself and the other detectives to the Salem Emergency Department, where he was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries. Det. Emmons is a 21 year veteran with the Salem Police Department. Salem Officers surrounded the home where the suspect was believed to be inside.  The Salem SWAT team and negotiators, along with the assistance of the Oregon State Police SWAT team, responded to assist. Marion Co. Sheriff's Office Today, June 17th, 2020, at shortly before 9:00 am deputies were dispatched to a helicopter crash in the 21000 block of Fern Ridge Road SE, just north of Mehama, in rural Marion County.   Emergency crews from the Stayton Fire District were first to arrive on scene and located the downed aircraft in a tree line next to a Christmas tree field.  The helicopter, a 1960 Hiller, was spraying a nearby Christmas tree field prior to the crash, the pilot did not survive.  Deputies have identified the pilot of the aircraft as Terry Harchenko, 65, of Salem.  There were no other people in the aircraft. Sheriff's Office REEDSPORT, Ore.  - A log truck crash claimed the life of a 54 year-old Lakeside man on Thursday.  On July 16, 2020, around 9:30 am, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of an injury log truck crash approximately a half mile up Loon Lake Road.  When deputies arrived on scene, they located a 1989 Freightliner over an embankment and mostly submerged in Mill Creek. The driver was identified as 54 year-old Rhett Michael Curran of Lakeside. Curan was declared deceased at the scene. The log truck was recovered from the water by Mast Brothers Towing.  The investigation indicates speed was a contributing factor in the crash. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Douglas County Public Works, Lower Umpqua Hospital Ambulance, Reedsport Police Department and Mast Brothers. 

Corvallis Police   Corvallis Police Department detectives are investigating a report of misconduct by Dr. William O’Donnell, who was a chiropractor at Vertebrata Chiropractic at 107 SW 2nd St, Corvallis Oregon.  Vertebrata is no longer in business, and the current occupant at that address is not affiliated with Vertebrata or O’Donnell. CPD Detectives received information that O’Donnell had allegedly been video recording patients without their knowledge or consent between November 2013 and May 2014 at Vertebrata.   Specifically, it appears O’Donnell may have been targeting female patients in their early 20’s through their mid 30’s in age.  Detectives need assistance in identifying several women on video. At this time, there is no indication other doctors or staff at Vertebrata were involved in or knew of the alleged misconduct. Oregon State Police  The Oregon State Police is requesting the public's assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for shooting at several vehicles on Interstate 5 between Roseburg and Grants Pass.  In the last several weeks OSP has investigated 5 vehicles that have been struck by bullets on Interstate 5 between milepost 67 and 100. No injuries have been reported. Lincoln City Police On Saturday, July 11, 2020, at about 9:20 PM, Lincoln City Police responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Hwy 101 in the north 2700 block. Upon officers’ arrival they initially found the crash involved a white 1992 Ford van and a small 2005 Chevrolet Aveo. As a result of the impact, the driver of the Chevrolet Aveo, identified as 21-year-old Julia Munson of Salem, Oregon, sustained significant injuries and was transported from the scene by Pacific West Ambulance to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. From there she was transported by Life Flight helicopter to a Portland area hospital, but sadly succumbed to her injuries and died. The crash investigation revealed that the white Ford van had been traveling northbound on Hwy 101 and crossed over into the southbound lanes where it sideswiped another vehicle, a 2010 Honda Fit, which was traveling southbound. Josephine Co. Sheriff's Office On 7/13/2020 at 10:56am the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received information of a logging accident in a remote area of West Picket Creek in Josephine County.  Rural Metro Fire, AMR and the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and located a male subject deceased, approximately 800 feet down the mountain.  The information gathered at the scene indicated, the subject, Cody Anderson, had been struck by a rolling log which he was cutting with a chain saw.   With the assistance of the logging crew and the above agencies, Anderson’s body was recovered and released to the funeral home. Next of kin has been notified.  

Roseburg Police Dept. Approximately one week ago the Roseburg Police Department investigated a report of a missing teenager from the Roseburg area.   During the subsequent follow up, investigators learned the teenager was previously involved in online contact with a male who was suspected to be from southern California.  This online contact was initiated through social media sites. The male was later identified as 26 year old Travis Smith of Los Angeles, California.  Information obtained during the investigation led investigators to believe Smith came to Roseburg to meet the teenager.  Over the next two days investigators from the Roseburg Police Department, FBI, and Las Angeles Police Department worked tirelessly to locate Smith.  The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) also provided assistance in this case. Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office   On July 9, 2020 Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of an assault of a Traffic Flagger in the area of Butler Market Rd and Hamehook Rd.  A crew was preparing for the transport of a house in this location necessitating the movement of power lines. A Traffic Flagger, Teresa McGuire, was at this location and had traffic stopped for several minutes when an unknown subject attempted to drive around her. A dispute ensued when the McGuire attempted to stop the subject, who was driving a dark colored Jeep Wrangler. The subject exited his vehicle and assaulted the McGuire, causing injury. Witnesses attempted to stop the subject from leaving but he was able to get back into his vehicle and drive away. He was last seen driving east on Butler Market Rd, towards the Powell Butte Hwy. Bend Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported McGuire to St. Charles Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The su

Oregon City Police Dept. On July 13th, 2020 at about 9:00 a.m. 49 year-old Billy Joe Davis II of Aurora, Oregon was arrested by the Oregon City Police Department after he drove to the area of the Kingsbury Heights Apartments located at 14290 Marjorie Lane in Oregon City, Oregon thinking he was meeting with a 15 year-old girl he met on Facebook to have a sexual relationship with her. The investigation started on July 6th, 2020 after Mr. Davis II sent an unsolicited message to an undercover officer on Facebook.  During the ensuing investigation, Mr. Davis II asked the undercover officer for sexually explicit photographs and videos on multiple occasions and arranged to meet with the undercover officer, thinking the officer was a 15 year-old girl.  Mr. Davis was arrested without incident on charges of Luring A Minor, Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree and Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct.  He is currently lodged at the Clackamas County Jail o

Oregon State Police  On Monday, July 13, 2020 at approximately 3:40 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 39. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2002 Ford F250, operated by Harry Sprangel (79) of Medford, pulling a Arctic Fox travel trailer was northbound when it left the roadway and overturned.  The vehicle caught fire with the two occupants still inside.  An OSP Trooper and witnesses extinguished the fire and extricated Harry Sprangel from the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital for injuries. The passenger, Jilleen Sprangel (82) of Medford, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.    OSP was assisted by Jackson County Fire District 3 and ODOT.
