Two kayakers rescued from river

Sweet Home Fire Dist. Sweet Home Fire District responded to a water rescue today at 10:28 AM.  Water rescue crews were able to assist two female victims, both had been flipped their kayaks on the South Santiam River near Sun Lane.  Rescue crews were able to operator a rescue jet boat to access one of the victims who was clinging to a small downed tree in the middle of the river.  The second victim was able to get back into her kayak and was directed to a riverbank near a home on walkerwood lane where crews were able to access her. Both advised that there were cold but did not need medical attention. Three Alarm Fire Destroys Apartment Complex Under Construction and Significantly Damages Occupied Homes

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue   Just after 1am this morning, multiple callers to 9-1-1 reported that a three-story apartment complex under construction in the 11000 block of SW Collina Lane in Wilsonville was engulfed in flames. A bright orange glow and column of smoke could be seen from several miles away.  The fire occurred in the Villebois community where condominiums, apartments and row homes are densely packed together. Within minutes, several neighbors living adjacent the growing blaze reported that the fire was spreading to their homes. By 1:15 a.m., fire commanders called a third alarm to bring enough firefighters to the scene to evacuate residents, extinguish fires in occupied buildings, control the original fire and protect exposed buildings. In addition to TVF&R, fire crews from Lake Oswego Fire Department, Canby Fire District, and Aurora Fire District worked through the night. Armed Robbery at SE Multnomah County Business

Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office On March 30, 2019 at 7:26am deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Pleasant Home Saloon, located at 31637 SE Dodge Park Blvd in southeast Multnomah County.  When deputies arrived at the location, they found two employees inside the saloon. The employees reported that two men, wearing masks and armed with handguns, had forced their way into the rear of the saloon.  Once inside, the suspects sprayed one employee with pepper spray, and ordered the other employee onto the floor at gunpoint.  The suspects left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The two employees, while shaken, did not need medical treatment.  The saloon was not yet open for business at the time of the robbery. Man Arrested After Fatal Crash near Sherwood

Sheriff's Office On Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 3:45 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the report of a crash in the 19100 block of SW Pacific Highway near the city of Sherwood. They learned that the driver of a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer exited the parking lot of a business and turned south onto SW Pacific Highway. The driver then quickly moved from the right lane into the left lane, into the path of a 2005 Ford F350 truck that was also traveling south. The impact between the vehicles sent the truck into the median, where it rolled several times. The driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital. He did not suffer injuries that are considered to be life-threatening. A passenger in the truck died as a result of the crash. She is being identified as Lorraine Wheeler, 47, of Tigard. Linn County Sheriff's Office   Sheriff Jim Yon reports his deputies arrested Johnny Angel Gonzalez, 37, today in connection with an arson investigation from earlier this week. On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at about 9:42 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a travel trailer on fire at 3285 NE Salem Avenue, Space #14.  The Albany Fire Department personnel deemed the fire as suspicious due to several people seen leaving the area moments before the fire started. The victim, who owned and lived in the travel trailer, told deputies he allowed Gonzalez to stay with him for the last two weeks.  However, on Wednesday the victim told Gonzalez he needed to find somewhere else to live, as it was against park rules to have unauthorized guests.  According to the victim, Gonzalez became agitated and began breaking personal property belonging to the victim inside the trailer.  The victim and another witness left the trailer stating they were scared of Gonzalez.  Shortly before the travel trailer was

Huffing Leads to Serious Injury Crash

Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 1:30 pm, Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash in the 4400 block of Lancaster Drive NE, in Salem.  Witnesses stated the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason before crashing through a fence and into a tree, seriously injuring the passenger.  The 20-year-old driver from Salem, Corbin Rivera, and his 25-year-old passenger, Kelsey Theiss, of Salem, were both transported by medics to Salem Hospital for their injuries. The multi-day investigation following the crash leads deputies to believe Rivera was “huffing” a common household product immediately before the collision.  The unlawful use of inhalants, commonly known as “huffing”, is known to have short term effects such as blacking out, dizziness, confusion, lack of coordination, and in extreme cases  it can cause sudden death. Sheriff's Office On March 29th, 2019 at approx. 6:55AM, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of Portland Police Bureau and Scappoose Police Department,  were dispatched to a Shooting at the 19400 Block of NW Logie Trail RD off Highway 30. An adult male was located at the scene with serious life threatening injuries. Lifesaving efforts were made, but the adult male died at the scene. Detectives from the Major Crimes Team, which is comprised of members of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, the Gresham Police Department, and Oregon State Police, are on scene and are continuing to investigate. Man Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison In Child Sex Abuse Case

Washington Co. District Attorney's Office HILLSBORO, Ore.- On March 29, 2019, Felipe Del Cid pleaded guilty to three counts of First-Degree Sex Abuse and one count of First-Degree Attempted Sodomy. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison by Washington County Judge Oscar Garcia. Deputy District Attorney Jason Weiner prosecuted the case against Del Cid. Detective Cheryl Crecelius of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office first began investigating Del Cid in March of 2018. Detective Crecelius spoke with the boy who described the years of abuse that Del Cid subjected him to. Investigators determined Del Cid, who was known to the boy’s family, first sexually assaulted the child around 2007 when he was just seven-years-old. The abuse continued over the next several years with unwanted touching and inappropriate behavior. In 2016, the victim began telling some of his friends about the abuse. Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 3/29/2019 at approximately 5:13am, a concerned citizen called the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety to report a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1400 Block of Sun Glo Dr. Officers located a gray Honda Accord, which matched the description of the involved vehicle in several recent BB gun criminal mischief investigations. No one was around or inside the vehicle at the time, and Detectives waited to see if any occupants would return. A couple hours later, two individuals were seen walking in the area, and one approached the involved vehicle, where he was contacted by Detectives. Further investigation led Detectives and Officers to 1474 Blake Ct, where numerous subjects were located. The investigation revealed that the vehicle on Sun Glo Dr belonged to Robert Correa. Correa was identified as the suspect in the criminal mischief cases and was arrested and lodged on multiple counts. Vandals Cause Major Damage to Construction Equipment Near Banks

Washington Co. Sheriff's Office On Monday, March 25, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report that a construction site had been vandalized near Banks. Several pieces of equipment were also stolen from the location near NW Davidson Rd & NW Hawn Rd. The equipment was part of a work site being operated by Luttrell’s Trucking & Excavation out of Yamhill, OR on property owned by Stimson Lumber in unincorporated Washington County. Most of the damage was done to an excavator parked alongside the logging road where it had been parked between Friday, March 22nd and Monday, March 25th. The owner estimates damage at around $7,500. A camera setup at the location captured several individuals in the area the night of March 23rd. One of the men can be seen carrying an axe that was stolen from the excavator. UPDATE - Oregon State Police is requesting the public's assistance in locating suspect(s) in the unlawful killing of three elk - Yamhill County

Oregon State Police Thanks to a tip from the public, Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Troopers cited three subjects for Unlawful Take/Possession of Antlerless Elk.  The elk meat was seized and donated to local charities. Oregon State Police would like to thank the public and media for assistance in bringing this case to a resolution. Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Troopers are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspect(s) involved in the killing of 3 cow elk on Willamina Creek Rd, just past mile post 8 near the upper bridge. Troopers found evidence of 3 elk that had been shot with high powered rifles on private timber property and pulled out to Willamina Creek Rd with ATV’s.  A tip later the next day led Troopers to three cow elk hides dumped on NW Fir Crest Rd just west of the town of Carlton.  Based on the evidence found at both sites, the elk were most likely killed between March 20, 2019 and March 23, 2019. Two vehicle fatal crash on Hwy 101 - Coos County

Oregon State Police On Thursday, March 28, 2019 at approximately 11:20 AM Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near milepost 230. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda Accord, operated by Jessie Fisher (37) of Garabaldi, was southbound on Hwy 101 when she crossed the centerline and struck a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT PU, operated by Brandon Blair (40) of Spokane, WA. Fisher was transported to Bay Area Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Blair was transported to Bay Area Hospital with injuries. There were two dogs in Fisher's vehicle.  One was transported by a good samaritan to a local veterinary clinic.  The second dog was last seen running from the scene and has not been located. Pedestrian fatality on Hwy 126E - Lane County

Oregon State Police  On Thursday, March 28, 2019 at approximately 11:45 PM Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian on Hwy 126E ( McKenzie Hwy) near milepost 31. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero, operated by Randall Norris (58) of Vida, was westbound on Hwy 126E when he struck a pedestrian, Michael Juden (28) of Vida, that was walking in the roadway. Juden sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Norris is cooperating with the investigation. OSP was assisted by Central Lane Fire Department and ODOT.

Portland Police Bureau The Transit Police Division learned of a separate case involving a female adult who was inappropriately touched by Jared Weston Walter. This case occurred on March 20, 2019, on a Max train in Portland. Walter has been charged with additional counts of Harassment (Offensive Contact), Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, Harassment (Sexual Harassment) and Interfering with Public Transportation related to this investigation. Weston is currently lodged in the Multnomah County Jail.  Investigators believe there could be additional victims that have yet to be identified. Bend area resident dies as a result of a rollover crash east of Sisters

Oregon State Police  On Thursday, March 28, 2019, at approximately 8:00 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle rollover crash on Highway 20 near Fryrear Road, located between Sisters and Bend.   Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, operated by 25 year old Bend resident Tyler Wright and sole occupant, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 near Fryrear Road.  For unknown reasons, Wright crossed over the oncoming lane and impacted a power pole, coming to a rest on its top.   Wright sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Highway 20 was closed for approximately 5 hours.  Power and utilities continue to be out for the local residents of this area and efforts are being made to restore those services.  Oregon State Police Troopers were assisted by the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Sisters Rural Fire, Bend Fire and Rescue and ODOT.

DUII Driver crashes through fence and into Redmond homeowner's pasture

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office   On March 28, 2019 at approximately 3:57 p.m., deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an unknown injury motor vehicle crash on South Canal Blvd. just north of Helmholtz Ave.    Upon arrival, deputies contacted the female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Sharon Brayton of Redmond.   Brayton had self-extricated from the vehicle. The investigation revealed Brayton was southbound  on South Canal Blvd. when her SUV left the shoulder of the roadway, went down an approximate four foot embankment and through a wooden post fence.  A fter landing in the pasture Brayton drove along the fence line, eventually crashing into it before the SUV came to a stop.  Deputies learned from witnesses Brayton's vehicle had been seen swerving and driving into the oncoming lane minutes before the crash.  Brayton was evaluated at the scene and transported by Redmond Fire Medics to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond with non-l

Detectives Arrest Mental Health Technician on Sex Abuse Charge

Sheriff's Office On March 26, 2019, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office by arresting a Portland man accused of sexually abusing a patient at a mental health hospital near Beaverton. Detectives say Christopher Zeisler, 28, was employed as a Mental Health Technician when he sexually abused a female patient he was caring for while working the night shift. Video surveillance showed that Mr. Zeisler spent an unusual amount of time in the patient’s room. Mr. Zeisler began working at Cedar Hills Hospital in October 2018. When Cedar Hills Hospital administrators learned of the investigation, they immediately placed Mr. Zeisler on administrative leave. The hospital has fully cooperated with investigators. Mr. Zeisler is no longer employed at the hospital. Mr. Zeisler was booked into the Washington County Jail on a single charge of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, an Oregon Measure 11 charge. Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET) and Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team (MADGE) Seized Over 6,000 Marijuana Plants in White City Raid

Medford Police Dept On March 27th, 2019, after a 2 month long investigation into black market marijuana sales, IMET and MADGE executed a search warrant at a warehouse in the 1300 block of Antelope Road. Investigators discovered a large scale indoor marijuana grow, which was not licensed or legal. Fourteen people were detained on site. The investigation revealed the illegal operation was being financed and managed by Saleh Shalomi from Beverly Hills, California. Shalomi was on site during the search warrant and arrested without incident. Investigators removed and destroyed just over 6,000 marijuana plants, weighing 2.75 tons. The approximate street value is $7,800,000, which would be after the marijuana was fully processed. Shalomi was lodged for Unlawful Possession, Delivery and Manufacture of Marijuana, as well as Money Laundering. Total bail was $75,000. The other subjects were identified and released. Annual Fire Hydrant Flushing - 3-28-19

Roseburg Fire Department The Roseburg Fire Department will be flushing fire hydrants from April 1, 2019 through June 30, 2019.  Hydrant flushing will be conducted from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week.  The Fire Department realizes that hydrant flushing may cause some inconvenience, however, the flushing program is necessary to ensure the proper functioning and delivery of adequate water from the water mains when needed for fire control.  The community’s cooperation with this hydrant-flushing program is appreciated. During the flushing process, customers may experience low water pressure or discolored water. While the water is safe to drink, customers may prefer to wait until it runs clear before drinking or washing clothes and dishes.

Tigard Wells Fargo Robbery

Tigard Police Tigard Police are asking for help identifying and locating a suspect who allegedly robbed the Tigard Wells Fargo on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. The bank is located at 9200 SW Washington Square Rd in Tigard. A 9-1-1 call at approximately 3:45 p.m. alerted police of the robbery who then quickly set up containment and searched the area. The suspect remains at large. According to witness statements, the suspect, described as a white male in his 50s, wearing a black baseball cap, black glasses, and black jacket, entered the bank and presented a demand note for money to an employee. The note said he had a weapon. However, no weapon was displayed during the robbery. The suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Tigard Police investigators were able to obtain surveillance photos of the suspect. Reckless Driver Arrested Following Pursuit

Sheriff's Office JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – A man reported as a reckless driver numerous times around Jackson County on Tuesday is in jail today.  Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies arrested Shadow Lee Newman, 28, of Gladstone, following a 36-mile pursuit on Highway 62 Tuesday evening.  Newman was arrested on charges of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, reckless driving, and recklessly endangering another person. On March 26, 2019, at 5:22 p.m., dispatch received a 911 report of a reckless driver on Crater Lake Highway (Oregon 62) near Vilas Road.  The caller reported a red Honda Civic hatchback was speeding, driving in the center lane, and veering into oncoming traffic.  Additional callers reported the vehicle nearly caused a head-on crash in White City and cut off an ambulance as it continued north into Eagle Point.  Dispatch advised that earlier in the day, citizens had called to report the same vehicle driving recklessly in two different ar

Man Dies in White City Motorcycle Crash UPDATE

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office Update, 3/27/19 at 1:05 p.m.: The operator of the motorcycle who died following a crash with a semi-truck Tuesday was identified as Gerald Duane Golden, Jr., 58, of White City.  Golden was operating a black 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle.  The preliminary investigation indicates alcohol impairment and excessive speed by Golden were contributing factors in the crash.  Further toxicology tests will be conducted by the medical examiner’s office.  The operator of the truck was identified as James Mason Anderson, 58, of Central Point.  He was operating a 1988 Kenworth truck with a trailer.  Anderson has cooperated with the investigation. Man Arrested for Sharing Images of Child Sex Abuse

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office MEDFORD – A joint investigation between the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) led to the arrest of a Medford man on charges related to online sharing of images of child sexual abuse.  Jeffery Andrew Ford, 54, was arrested at his residence on Wednesday morning.  On March 27, 2019, detectives served a search warrant at Ford’s home in the 300-block of DeBarr Avenue, with assistance from the JCSO SWAT team.  Ford was taken into custody without incident. Following the service of the search warrant, Ford was lodged in the Jackson County jail on six counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and six counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.  Total bail at lodging was $105,000. Missing Person - Michele Waldie, age 44

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety On 3/26/2019 at 1100 AM, Michele  Waldie  left her residence in the 1700 block of Harbeck Rd on foot. Michele is autistic; however, she is able to do normal everyday things like care for herself/family. Michele is not able to drive and will likely be on foot or with someone else in a vehicle. Michele Waldie is 5'6 tall, weighs approximately 160lbs, has auburn hair, and brown eyes. It is believed that Michele Waldie was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket, and an unknown color hat. A most recent photo of Michele is included along with a missing person bulletin.

RADE arrests local woman for possession and distribution of methamphetamine and heroin

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety Months of investigating Molly Meador (33 years of age)  for drug distribution within Josephine County culminated in her arrest on Thursday, March 21st. Meador was contacted after she stopped at Sam’s Market on Monument Drive near Hugo. During the contact, GPDPS K9 Officer Gasperson and his partner “Match” were summoned. Match alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle Meador was driving. During the search, nearly a pound of methamphetamine, one quarter pound of heroin, packaging material, scales and $1,306 cash was seized. The Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team is a multi-agency task force comprised of members from the Oregon State Police, Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Josephine County Community Corrections, and the Josephine County District Attorney's Office.  RADE's mission it to enforce laws and protect citizens from illegal drug activity and related criminal acts in Josephine County.

Man Dies in White City Motorcycle Crash

Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office WHITE CITY, Ore. – A man died at the hospital Tuesday afternoon from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle crashed into the side of a semi-truck.  Nobody else was injured. On March 26, 2019, at 2:22 p.m., dispatch received a 911 call reporting the crash in the 2600-block of Avenue G.  An eastbound motorcycle struck the side of a BioMass One truck and trailer that was crossing Avenue G at a driveway access.  The caller told dispatch that the motorcycle had been traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.  The motorcycle operator was transported by ambulance to Rogue Regional Medical Center (RRMC) where he later died of his injuries.  The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation. Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety is investigating broken business windows and damage to parked vehicles. The incidents occurred beginning on Friday, March 22nd and extending through Saturday night. The suspects used BB guns to break large business windows and to damage parked cars.  Grants Pass Police would appreciate assistance from the public to identify the owner of the pictured vehicle, which was seen in the area of one of the occurrences.  At this time, the vehicle is of interest, but not necessarily directly tied to the crimes.  As of Monday morning, GPDPS has identified seven victims related to the incidents from the weekend. 

Missing Person - Tina Moriarty Age 47

Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety UPDATE Tina Moriarty has been located and is safe. Thank you for your assistance. Tina Moriarty, age 47, was last seen at approximately 12:15 AM in Rogue River, OR at her mother’s residence. Tina was supposed to drive back to her residence located in the 400 block of SW J St in Grants Pass, OR. Tina did not return home. Tina was last seen wearing red tennis shoes, black baggie pants, and a red/white checkered short sleeve shirt. Tina is described as a white female adult, 5’4" tall and weighing approximately 150 lbs, brown wavy shoulder length hair, and a tattoo on back of her neck. Tina was last seen driving a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis 4 door sedan, dark blue in color. The vehicle has an Oregon license plate  “708 HCN.”  Tina has been known to frequent Seven Feathers Casino/Resort. Vehicle pictured is not actual vehicle, but similar in appearance.
