Injury Motor Vehicle Crash Highway 126 at SW Helmholtz Avenue

Deschutes Co. Sheriff's Office  - 04/30/18 On Monday, 4/30/18, at approximately 1532 hours, deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an injury motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 126 at SW Helmholtz Avenue just west of Redmond.  Deschutes County Dispatch reported multiple vehicles were involved with non-life threatening injuries reported.  An investigation at the scene determined that Gertraud Morrison, operating a gray Dodge Pickup, was attempting to cross Highway 126 on SW Helmholtz Avenue from south to north.  As she attempted to cross the highway, she pulled into the path of Jeffrey Hewitt, also operating a Dodge Ram pickup, who was traveling westbound on the highway.  The two pickups collided in the westbound lane of Highway 126 sending both vehicles into the southbound lane of SW Helmholtz Avenue, where the gray dodge pickup impacted into the 2000 Plymouth Breeze, operated by Margaret Brundage, who was stopped at the

Hillsboro Police Arrest Suspected Bank Robber

Hillsboro Police Dept.  - 04/30/18 1:40 PM At 10:26 a.m., officers responded to a reported robbery at Wells Fargo at 7200 NE Butler St. in Hillsboro. A man allegedly brandished a knife and stole an undisclosed sum of money from the bank then ran away.  Two male customers in the bank chased the suspect after he fled. One of the men flagged down officers in the area of NE Butler St. and NE Century Blvd. to alert them to the suspect.  Officers arrested the suspect without incident at 10:29 a.m. Several thousand dollars were recovered.  The suspect is not yet identified; charges are pending. UPDATE- Roseburg Police, Douglas County Major Crimes Team Investigate Homicide in Roseburg

Roseburg Police Dept.  - 04/30/18  Update:  Investigators developed 21 year old Roseburg resident Billy Dale Conner-Ferguson as the suspect in this case.  Conner-Ferguson has been located and charged with Criminal Homicide. On April 30, 2018 at 12:20 AM, Roseburg Police responded to the Rodeway Inn, 511 SE Stephens regarding a report of a male with an apparent stab wound.  When officers arrived, they found an adult male unconscious in the parking lot.  The victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center via ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, who fled from the scene prior to officer’s arrival, is believed to be known to the victim leading investigators to believe there is no known ongoing threat to the public at this time.  The Douglas County Major Crimes Team has been activated for this case.  This investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing.    photo from previous arrest
