Sex Crimes

Lebanon Police Dept. - 05/29/18

On Sunday, May 27, 2018 at approximately 4:03 A.M., Lebanon Police officers arrested Lebanon resident Mark William Chevalier (DOB 11/15/77) for multiple sex crimes related to inappropriate contact with an underage female.  The alleged crimes took place at Chevalier’s residence inside the city limits of Lebanon. Chevalier was taken into custody at his residence without incident.
Chevalier was charged with two counts of Using Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct, Possession of Material Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct in the First Degree, three counts of Rape in the Third Degree, three counts of Sex Abuse in the Third Degree, and Sodomy in the Third Degree.  Chevalier was taken to the Lebanon jail, and then later transported to the Linn County jail.
The Lebanon Police Department has had multiple contacts with Chevalier dating back to 2006.  Many of Chevalier’s prior law enforcement contacts involve him reporting noise complaints, disturbances, and suspicious circumstances (Chevalier is not listed as a suspect, with the Lebanon Police Department, in any other cases such as this incident).
Chevalier’s arrest stems from a report that images depicting child abuse were located on a digital device owned by Chevalier.  The minor female is known to Chevalier and has been identified; at this time, the Lebanon Police Department is not aware of any other victims related to this case.
This is still an ongoing investigation. If you have any information regarding this case, you are encouraged to contact Lebanon Police Detective Sergeant Taylor Jackson.
