Two Arrested After Eluding Officers

On May 29, 2018 Beaverton Police Officers arrested 20-year-old Hassan Sheikh and a 17-year-old minor female from Portland after they tried to elude officers in a vehicle.
On the above date at 2:45 a.m. officers were called to the 5700 block of SW Alger Ave regarding suspicious people hanging out around a Hyundai Elantra. The people were seen leaving the area in a Toyota Prius prior to officers arriving. Officers learned the Hyundai was a stolen vehicle.
At 3:38 a.m. officers were called to the 5600 block of SW Dover Ln regarding occupants in a Toyota Prius breaking into cars. Officers arrived and attempted to stop the Toyota. The driver, Mr. Sheikh, almost struck an officer as he eluded in the Toyota. The Toyota crashed near SW Oleson Rd/ Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. Two occupants fled the vehicle on foot but were caught a short distance away. Officers learned the Toyota had been stolen overnight. Mr. Sheikh had the key to the stolen Hyundai in his pocket.
Officers located eight vehicles which had been broken into in the areas associated to the suspects. Mr. Sheikh was taken to Washington County Jail and charged with DUII, Felony and Misdemeanor Elude, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle, Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Interfering with a Police Officer and an outstanding misdemeanor DUII warrant. The minor female was charged with ID Theft, three counts of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle and Interfering with a Police Officer.
