UPDATED - Deputies Investigate Shooting in Tenmile

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a shooting which occurred on 05-08-18, in the 500 Block of Degnath Gateway Lane, Tenmile, Oregon.  The Detective’s Division is looking into a claim that the shooting was done in self-defense.
The investigation is on-going and no further details will be released at this time.

Detectives are continuing their investigation from the shooting this morning in Tenmile.
57 year-old Kevin Eugene Welker was shot in the leg by his neighbor 56 year-old Kevin Dewayne Duckworth at about 6:38 a.m. Both Welker and Duckworth have been involved in an ongoing neighborhood dispute.
Welker was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to an undisclosed hospital where he remains in critical condition.
No arrests have been made in this investigation.

TENMILE, Ore. - At 6:38 am, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call of a reported shooting which took place in the 500-block of Degnath Gateway Lane. Multiple deputies responded and were assisted by the Winston Police Department.
Deputies are currently on scene conducting an investigation. There is no threat to the public related to this incident. No additional details are available for release at this time.
The media and members of the public are asked to avoid the area, due to the narrow roadway and limited parking for responders.
